Does Ukraine even have drones that are capable of travelling that far and why would they want to attack a Country that they are not at war with when Russia is far closer. Nothing makes sense and probably never will.
Chechnya is actually part of russia (after making two unfortunately failed attempts at indepence in the 1990s/early 2000s and marking the start of putins wars), and home to ramzan kadyrov, who has sent a lot of war-criminal "kadyrovites" aka tik-tok warriors to ukraine.

Let's just hope that insurance rates for airlines still operating on the muscovian market will rise to a level where it is no longer economically viable, thus putting even more pressure on the already hard-pressed civil aviation in muscovia.
Denys Davidov gave a good explanation why he thinks the plane tried to land where it crash-landed. It's only a theory but it sounds feasible. He thinks it might have been the pilots' choice given the unsuitability of the other options for that type of landing attempt with the damaged aircraft. Denyis was also a pilot and understand's quite a bit about that type of aircraft, and he knew the younger of the two pilots because he trained in Ukraine at the same Training Centre where he qualified. On another channel, there's an interview with a commercial Pilot (Dennis Davydov) that said it is highly probable the Pilots chose to fly across the Kaspian sea on their free will because there was plenty of flat land on their disposal to try and bring the plane down compared to the Kaukaz mountains or coast cities on the western shore.
Its getting a pattern, isn't it. We, normal people, with normal lives, wishing to continue our normal lives, better stay well out of reach of russian wodka-drenched security systems.
Yes so there was no survivors but the pilots were very skilled and managed to land on land but some passengers survived too tell their story and the black box has been retrieved so now the world will get too know the truth of who shot it down tell Mr Putin because straight away Putin blamed Ukraine which is not true but now we will find out who shot it down
This exactly cannot be expected by analysis of the Blackbox. (there is no sensor to log being shot from whom) But it can be expected from the voice recorder if the pilots themselves decided to cross the sea or if they were forced to. That it was shut down is clear but not officially as of yet and that russians shot it down seems to be clear as well because the Ukrainian drones that reach Grozny do not have this kind of ammunition, so it couldn't leve these traces.
i thought it had already been established that the crew elected to land the heavily damaged aircraft at an airport they could see. The Grozny area suffers from GPS jamming and the weather reports of the airfield (and those close by) were less than ideal to land a stricken airliner. Besides, Russian centralized command and control would certainly be incapable of such on-the-fly decision making. Also, it would be extremely difficult given the time available for the crew of the rocket launcher to get in touch with someone in authority at air traffic control and then to the actual controllers.....besides, they can only make suggestions, final authority (by the rules of the air) lies with the Captain. It's a nice theory, underscoring the evilness of those Russkies, but let's face it, while it looks good on the front page of the Sun, it is more straight from a Tom Clancy thriller than reality.
It is just as likely the denial to land is based on the knowledge of anti-drone activity and the people knowing the plane will likely be targeted again. It also shows the difficulty Russian equipment to differentiate a drone from a plane, made more tragic since normal air travel schedules are known. The pilots were remarkable and deserve the highest regard for training and professionalism. The US shot down an Iranian airliner in the Gulf due to similar inability to differentiate an airliner from other hostile aircraft. Shame on Russia for their failure to look at the daily flights to Grozny.
Since russia backed forces shot down commercial flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine in 2014, the world is fully aware of the risks of flying over war zones. I would not have got on that plane ...
The Caspian Sea is not very deep. 1000 metres max, but much shallower in most of its extent. Also, its actually a large lake. So recovery of any ditched aircraft in that lake is completely feasible. It's not anything like the MH370 scenario in the Indian Ocean. The Russians are not, and never have been, very clever.
The Climate conference held in Azerbaijan in November had a huge presence of Russian FSB and siloviki to arrest climate protestors, so Azerbaijan has a Russian problem.

Their hydraulics were shot by the SAM, once you lose them the plane’s controls are mostly gone. They may have had slight rudder control via electrics but didn’t look that way. The flight radar tracker shows up and down constant movements showing the brave crew was using engine power to try adjust course and height. They did their best and those who survived owe that to them.
Apparently air defence missiles were fired to protect the civilians of Grozny from a drone attack by Ukraine. This incident was an unfortunate consequence of Ukraine's actions.

It's very difficult to know exactly why Russia denied a plane in distress to land on any of their airports and instead send it over the Caspian Sea. But it is a rather unusual behaviour, because the usual procedure gives the pilot of a damaged airplane the choice to land where they want. Especially as the scheduled destination of the plane was Russia in the first place.

The air traffic controler making a sudden decision to turn the aircraft around to over fhe caspoan sea is a stretch of the imagination. The tower would have had to know the plane was targeted to begin with. The CVR will tell the truth.
The pilot didnt turn around to Azerbaijan and decided to keep flying across a sea to a 3rd nation. Doesnt make sense. The pilot seems suicidal and wabted to crash.
Ukraine shoots down commercial airline.
Blames it on russia.
Apparently air defence missiles were fired to protect the civilians of Grozny from a drone attack by Ukraine.
This incident was an unfortunate consequence of Ukraine's actions.
there was no risk to civilians in Grozny from Ukr drones. Total fabricated disinformation designed to malign the strict-international-law following Ukrinian military.! Stop your lies against Ukraine! Stop the genocide that is proven in over 160K separate incidents, documented per U.N. standards of forensic investigation!
Russia started this 'special military operation' so it's actually a unfortunate consequence of that. Either way, Russia is responsible.
Russians knowing that Grozny is attacked should close the airport for commercial planes. This accident is on them.
Did Elon help them?
Why is the EU and USA responsible for funding Georgian agriculture? :-/ That money should be spend domestically.

The fuselage was attacked by machine gun wielding gun men after it crash landed it's very obvious what happened.

Did you miss the video a passenger took of the wing while the plane was still flying? Clearly showed damage from being shot while the plane was flying at an altitude unreachable by a maxhine gun
Jim, can you elaborate on what kind of machine guns the men were wielding, that could make 3 inch holes in the fuselage?
Op... you utter wuck fitt. 😂

Come to America to live better.
Evidence would not be lost if it landed in the water. That's a silly theory.
But it would have a much better chance of being lost.....
It would be a LOT harder to retrieve the plane, all of the parts, and the "black boxes" if the plane had crashed into the sea. It would take longer, too. Come on! Surely you can understand that.
Russia would plant explosive fragments under water to diverted attention claiming underwater explosion why shrapnel found after all they have been caught red handed dragging anckor between Estonia and finland cutting cables
Russia would recover the plane wreckage and rig the evidence.
@@jeffreyhearn8930wouldn’t it be easier to let it land in Russia and temper with the evidence
"Times accused of being fake news"
Accusations are not facts Times.
Kremlin bot 🚨
It's very difficult to know exactly why Russia denied a plane in distress to land on any of their airports and instead send it over the Caspian Sea. But it is a rather unusual behaviour, because the usual procedure gives the pilot of a damaged airplane the choice to land where they want. Especially as the scheduled destination of the plane was Russia in the first place.
