Zelenskyy is a leader and polititian, he also speaks very well in public, his heart is with the people of Ukraine. There may be others who think they could take over from him but i doubt it. In his shoes when the war broke out when offered a lift they would have taken it, he did not instead he asked for ammunition, that is bravery.

    I will say/write it again.
Whatever treaty you would sign with Russia/Putin. It is worthless, because it has been proven in recent years that Russia does not care about it at all after a while.
History shows that many regions of Russia have declared their independence every now and then during periods when Russia was weak. This was tacitly ignored by Russia and as soon as they were strong again, the regions were simply brought under authority again through wars and oppression. It has been like this for 150-200 years, first the Tsjaren and then the various types of Russian governments.
Russia's strategy is also the same every time! They say that they intervene because there is a Russian population that they want to protect, while in the previous occupations they deported and murdered the population en masse and replaced them with Russians. Do you find it strange that there are Russians living somewhere? Where are all Ukraine the children from the areas that were occupied by the Russians?
The only thing that would really work in my opinion is to continue supporting Ukraine until it has literally kicked the Russians out of the country. Giving in now would give Russia the opportunity to recover from the damage they have suffered so far. Ukraine is increasingly hitting hard behind the lines in Russia. Russia has little to say against that. If the Russians are removed and there is finally "peace". Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO can be accomplished very quickly so that Russia cannot pull a stunt like that again.
The sanctions did not work well in the beginning (because Russia got loads off money earned selling oil and gas) and only recently has Russia really felt the shortages that have arisen due to the ongoing sanctions. Also, the enforcement of the sanctions could be a bit stricter, too much is still going to Russia through back doors and shady companies. It is the enforcement of sanctions that has put Russia in such a bad position. AND it is a signal to the rest of the world that sanctions can hit your domestic economy/well-being of the population hard.

The Biden policy was not ‘too little, too late’. It was always a battle against the Trumpublicans (Trump Republicans) in the House of Representatives, which is controlled by Republicans. In the U.S. no president has complete control unless they have the House & Senate. Zelensky should look to Europe for leadership backing Ukraine. Trump cannot be trusted.
