    As usual with all X-Particles tutorials, this didn't work. It's a new problem every time, and this time it was unbearable lag as soon as I added ExplosiaFX. Made everything so slow I couldn't continue.
    Edit: Yep, after an hour of fruitless attempts to fix this, it was the thing that made me give up on INSYDIUM completely. 36 days into a 90 day trial, countless attempts to make something work the same way it does in tutorials, and not a single success. This is an objectively bad piece of software.
    The tutorial looked amazing, and far better than any of the useless content they put out officially. Wish I could have got it to work. Subscribed either way - brilliant channel!

      Sorry to hear that man. Try and turn it off in the viewport, you don't need it on to art direct the particles you just need it in the scene.

      I have the same experience. Its running near real time in his viewport. I have a 3090 and a 5800X with 32GB ram. It really should not be doing 6fps when I add the Xplosia FX. Even when I turn off the XplosiaFX display its still 6fps

      I Dug more into it. It seems that XP is not optimized for anything above R23. I tried running this tutorial with R23 and it suddenly starts working like a charm

      @@Frez121212 That's really interesting. Thanks for the info! Reasons like this I tend to always stay a few versions behind for overall production. None the less glad to hear it's working appropriately now!

      @@keshaavsingh Yeah, most companies are moving away from Open GL. Insydium should have kept up with the times. They've had, what, three versions to prepare for Vulkan? It'll only get worse.

    Can you maybe explain why my "fire-simulation" looks so weird in viewport? It's not even close to what you have. It's just a bunch of pixels which barely have the shape of the simulation. Tried to change some display-settings, but nothing works and even if it slightly improves the display-quality, it completely kills viewport performance. 1557 with c4d 23.2.2

      Hahaha I feel as if mine are slow sometimes, not even I have a 3900X that's like 2 years old. I do have 128GB of ram though that helps cinema chug a bit.
      I have 2x 3080's but they just help me bully cinema and playback simulations with octane open.

  • @craigminchingtonadoraattac2354

    This looks great mate. Is there a simple solution to emit the particles from a triangle, rather than a circle?
    I looked at using an N-side and changing the emitter shape to object but you lose object properties. Any thoughts?

    • @Sketchyvisuals
      @Sketchyvisuals  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man! Try using a cylinder and set the rotation segments to 3, make it super thin on the height maybe (0.1 - 1).
      Then make it editable and loop the outside face and set a selection, then use the selection in the selection tab under the object and set the emission to polygons, should work!
      You might have to set the Emission to Rate instead of Shot even if you just emit it for 1 frame to create the exact same thing. For some reason the Shot setting can misbehave when emitting from poly's

      @@GraysonSedory Ahh gotcha. Was gonna say you have a better GPU and CPU than me only difference is I have 128GB Ram but I don't think in that higher up range we'd be noticing a drastic difference, probably the OpenGL thing for sure.
