This is one of the most Browns thing to happen in a few years. The Browns organization openly starts looking if they can get Watson. They seem to even suggest a quarterback trade with the Colts if they do. Their quarterback practically writes a farewell letter to the fanbase as the trade seems likely to happen for a short while. Then the Watson trade possibility falls through and they refuse to consider any trade offers for Mayfield even though Mayfield now wants one. So they finally get a quarterback that wants to play for them, is willing to play even badly hurt, actually shows some amount of skill, and they proceed to try to better deal him in one of the worst ways possible and then when their dream replacement falls through they shackle him down for that final year of his contract so come next year he almost definitely wants to leave and the fan base gets shafted even more.
some of these fans buy into the stupidest thing from the media then take it like it's totally true. example the roster being "so great" when it's not, it has no depth and the best receiver on the team OBJ/DPJ were/are only as good as number 3 wide receiver in the league.
And then two days later the Browns double down by promising the moon to the guy with as much legal trouble as POTUS #45, after refusing the trade request, destroying his remaining equity when the news breaks, and scramble to make further moves for sake of cap space. This team really raised the bar here, as a decade + long fan

Baker doubled that and now we think that he’s had a good long career
After Mayfield's tweet, I saw the news today of Cleveland out of the running for Watson. Oof. Anyways, for the QB position, unless you're one of the top elite QBs, isn't your job always at risk? Believe me I didn’t want Baker to replaced with deshaun Watson but he can do better for another team that needs him more than we do it’s been a crazy ride and hope he finds success
I watched these in reverse order... Should have watched this first and then the Deshawn Watson NFL team reaction next. Well done, Thanks, Tom. Go Browns!
If as a Browns player you say "I wanna be in Cleveland, I love it here", they will get rid of you eventually.I'have followed this team since 1960 and down through the years they have had a history of doing that.
Thank you for getting the story correct. The media shortly after, as damage control, tried to flip the events around stating that Baker quit and the Browns were forced to get Deshawn.
As soon as reports emerged the Browns were interested in trading for Watson Baker Mayfield Tweeted his goodbye to Cleveland. So thats not technically correct. Mayfield did quit the team as soon as he learned it was pursuing another option at quarterback, which for the NFL is normal for every position on the team to deal with being replaced or challenged for the job. Were the Browns forced to get Watson after Mayfield's Tweet? I think so and I am pretty sure that is what helped the contract and guaranteed money get so bloated to change Watson's mind. No going back to Mayfield with his heart broken.
Losing baker was a huge blow for Cleveland. They didnt even try to keep him even after his 2020 playoff run. It's like the organization has commitment issues, because if they hadnt forced the issue he would not have left.
The kneejerk reaction both from Browns fans and the Browns front office is mind boggling. I mean even a mediocre quarterback would be top 3 for this organization since they got the team back... he has 1 bad season while not having a throwing arm at all and suddenly it makes more sense to chase a guy facing jailtime.
Not to mention huge amount of guaranteed money, wtf was browns thinking? If watson is suspended he still gets paid lol. Only game checks he would be missing is $1m.
@@Eugenepanels We might not know everything that went on in discussions but I'm guessing part of the trade deal might have been subject to Watson agreeing to being dealt and if so he may have insisted that any team signing him guarantee his contract or he'd refuse to play
The Browns should just be satisfied with what they have currently tbh. 3 years pre Mayfield: 3-13 1-15 0-16 4 years with Mayfield: 7-8-1 6-10 11-5 8-9 Every individual year with him they won more games than the 3 years before him.

Browns: Hey Baker, can you come back please?
BREAKING NEWS: Baker Mayfield demands a trade
Browns: 😳
Dude that Ruben Droughns jersey is sick! Him and Akili Smith were dope back in 98!
He’s about to treat them like Aaron Rodgers does the packers😂
At least he would have a reason Aaron Rodgers is just the biggest diva in all of sports.
Believe me I didn’t want Baker to replaced with deshaun Watson but he can do better for another team that needs him more than we do it’s been a crazy ride and hope he finds success
Can't wait to see the browns finish under 500 yet again and see the Browns realise it was them not Baker
Aged like a fine wine there Grossi
He has a Reuben Droughns jersey……..
Dude knows pain.
I watched these in reverse order...
Should have watched this first and then the Deshawn Watson NFL team reaction next. Well done, Thanks, Tom. Go Browns!
"So you come crawling back, ya cheap sacks of shit!!"
Baker to the Browns front office today
This did not age well
Letting him go was so stupid. That was definitely a signature Browns move.
If as a Browns player you say "I wanna be in Cleveland, I love it here", they will get rid of you eventually.I'have followed this team since 1960 and down through the years they have had a history of doing that.
I cannot wait for the follow up video LOL
AWESOME WORK!!!!!
Tom Grossi you are MAKING free agency for me , why you aren’t being hired by the networks I don’t know … hilarious!!
Baker should just leave them. He might not be a great QB but he is a good one and they keep pushing the blame over to him
Gotta update this with the third phone call my guy lmfaoooo
This definitely needs a part 2 at this point 😂😂😂
Losing baker was a huge blow for Cleveland. They didnt even try to keep him even after his 2020 playoff run. It's like the organization has commitment issues, because if they hadnt forced the issue he would not have left.
This was priceless and so on point 😂😂😂😂
Putting out Bangers this off season 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The kneejerk reaction both from Browns fans and the Browns front office is mind boggling. I mean even a mediocre quarterback would be top 3 for this organization since they got the team back... he has 1 bad season while not having a throwing arm at all and suddenly it makes more sense to chase a guy facing jailtime.
He even had a hurt groin and ankle/lower leg injury.
Smh
As a browns fan tbh they make me wanna stop watching football because of how they handle situations
I just feel like Baker might show up next season with a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
Well, on the good one at least.
I’m here just waiting for the Davante Adams being traded video lmao
Gonna be a doozy
@@jamesgoss1860 imagine Rodgers “retires” after hearing the news
I love that you have a Reuben droughs jersey! Fuck yeah 2007 baby
The Browns should just be satisfied with what they have currently tbh.
3 years pre Mayfield:
3-13
1-15
0-16
4 years with Mayfield:
7-8-1
6-10
11-5
8-9
Every individual year with him they won more games than the 3 years before him.
He won more in his worst season then the three prior to him that's hilarious browns fans miss being the laughing stock of the NFL
I mean you set a really low bar to keep Baker 😂
I can't wait to see the update edit on this video.
I cry for Baker, I loved his worth ethic and I'll miss him and his progressive commercials. The Browns organization did him dirty and as a fan it's easy to announce they are a factory of Sadness
If the buccaneers sign him to a multi year contract, i'm hoping for baker on the pirate ship...
I like how Baker is wearing a jersey, but not his own. So humble!
Can someone explain to me how Grossi produces more new and original content in 24 hours than Paramount Plus has done in the past 12 months...
Halo....and god awful abominations that they keep calling star trek.
Make a part 2 just for the new news, this was great!
So, just to be clear. We did get Watson and nobody in the NFL wants Mayfield.
Dianne Wallace: Exactly. Nobody on this comment section has come back to face the music and admit that Baker is a problem child.
Tom Grossi is my favorite way to recieve NFL offseason news, but that room kept giving me flashbacks to Rocky being possesed by Chomas.
I'm not okay.
Anyone here after the news
The bubble wrap sling was a nice touch.
Send him to the Colts, Browns. You know it's for the best.
As a now Ex-Browns fan, love these videos.
Wouldn’t be at all shocked if Baker demands a trade now that he’s seen how committed the Browns really are to him.
Well, he just did
Lol good call
Baker's been my dude (not literally, I do not know him) because of his grit and effort and poise. Yeah, he didn't perform at the level people expected, but his emotion is (was) a great fit.
I'm just curious. Isn't it just as much of an insult for to the starting QB's of the Falcon's, Saint's and Panthers for those teams to bid for DW, or is it just the medias biased hate for Baker Mayfield that they would relentlessly bring this up without a peep about how those other QB's might feel about it! Just sayin'...
Tom is turning his saga into Days of our Lives or As the World Turns..... Well, As the Browns Turns. LOL
