Guys I’ve already seen the color purple. It’s only available on Patreon but I just didn’t understand the reference with harpo.
Nahh you sound fine, just like my cousin…who is 45….smokes 2 packs of cigarettes a day….and is a man…. JUST KIDDDDDING. FEEL BETTER ❤️🩹 😊
Remember Harpo was the husband and Oprah said that line. Tyler and Oprah are best friends and she’s his son’s godmother
you should react to the documentary called quiet on set: the dark side of kids tv it’s covering the emotional and sexual abuse suffered by child actors on Nickelodeon in the mid 1990s and early 2000s. It’s a real heartbreaking story I’ve been watching this podcast that a former Nickelodeon child actor started she also opened up about her time working on a show called Zoey 101 and what she went through.
Someone is spamming your page, I tried to post their link but TH-cam deleted my comment. I reported them, stay safe 🙏🏾👍🏾
I think there is a bot in your comments copycating you
The fact they played an AL Green song when that girl poured hot grits on dude was crazy AF! Cause AL Green's wife did the same to him! Only difference was he wasn't abusive. She suffered from mental disability. The whole thing was so sad!😭
Wasnt even his wife 😂 just somebody that was creepin with AL on HER husband 😂
@@PlumbobianaAnd she ended up committing suicide after pouring hot grits on Al Green. I don’t know her or ever met her in person but she was a neighbor of my aunt back in the day
This is all wild 😭
His mistress did it. She was married herself, and got upset with him and burned him like that.
R.I.P. Mary Woodson
carlos getting mad at lisa for yawning was beyond ridiculous. yawning gets you punched and slapped? iight 😭😭
You gotta think about it like a narcissist. He’s thinking “Oh, you’re yawning? So you’re bored? You’re bored being with me in front of my friends? You’re making my friends think something about me is boring?” Now he’s mad.
My mom used to get mad like that because she felt like every little thing me and my sister did was a direct reflection on her as a mother. Like if we were at someone’s house and we ate too much or asked for food in front of her, she took that as we were telling people that she didn’t feed us. Then we’d get yelled at and hit.
You’d be surprised…
Abusers will look for any reason to be violent.
There's some people who think yawning is disrespectful or classless. I had a college professor who hated yawning
@@DeadlyBeast205 damn what he do if yall yawn in class?
I remember hearing everybody in the theater either laughing their asses off or crying their eyes out while watching this film with my family back in 2006.
I swear Cecily Tyson really makes her mark on Tyler's movies
The “Harpo” line was a reference to the movie the color purple
Just thought you should know that Maya Angelou and Cicely Tyson are giants in the African American community. Maya Angelou was a laureate, poet, author and civil rights activist (she was featured on Oprah a few times as she was one of her favourite writers. Cicely Tyson was an award winning, critically acclaimed actress in film and theater, noted for her vivid portrayals of strong African American women.
I watched this in the movie theater when it first dropped. There was a woman in the theater with a baby, so when Madea said “I don’t know why you brought that crying child in here” everyone went to laughing.
Most important lesson is put your foot down and stand up for yourself. Cannot let anybody walk over you and take you for granted at same time they treat you like different.
I'm glad she standing up for herself against her abuser who wronged her.
We need more Madea movies reactions lol 😂 love this reaction
Tyler Perry movies are so good I don't understand why some people dislike them
Me either. I think they are just trippin'. The content is good and the deep meaning messages are even better. I just think some folks aren't intelligent enough to get the full understanding. Of sometimes you gotta laugh to get through the pain. That's what a Tyler movie is, laughing to get through the pain. And coming out the other side being okay.
@@kikibigbangfan3540No its because he colorist he always makes light skins the sweet angels and darkskins the nasty bitter type ion like ts
They often don't have A lot of depth to them. And are very predictable
I think I understand why the dislike of his material. The first thing is crossdressing/gay thing. That was the first thing my brother noticed the first time he saw it. I didn't even notice. But secondly and more important is the way he portrays black men in a negative light. I watch his material for a long time but I have noticed at home black men in a negative light thing.
@@alejandroacosta1227 Firstly, crossdressing is not a "gay thing", I am gay and I don't cross dress. The people that usually wear dresses are males who grow up feeling like they are females on the inside and express it on the outside by dressing the part, they're called TRANS (eg. Bruce Jenner turned Caitlyn Jenner). With regards to the Tyler playing Madea, it's part of acting, actors have to wear certain costumes & attire to depict a particular character, there's nothing gay about it. Gay is a sexuality, not what you wear. Plus I've never heard people complain when Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams (Mrs. Doubtfire) & the Wayans Bros did it. Y'all just have a problem with Tyler.
Secondly, movies &/T.V depicts reality and if men are trash (which had a whole hashtag going worldwide), then men are trash and we will show what happens in our societies. What I love in the movies though is that Tyler always has solutions & lessons to learn in the end.
Thirdly, there are good men in every Tyler movie, infact more than the bad men, but no one ever makes reference to them or commends them. We always want to point out the bad/rotten apples. There are bad women that follow the wrong path & do foul things while having great men beside them in Family that preys, Why did I get married, Temptation, Madea goes to jail, Daddy's little girls, Good Deeds & I can do bad all by myself. However I've never heard women complaining.
In Diary of a mad black woman, there's one black man who messes with a good woman (which is what happens in reality, men often leave a good woman for the new and shiney trophy) and then there's a good man on the other side (the U-Haul driver) who is good to her in all aspects. This alone tells you there's a balance but all of you choose to focus on the one character.
In Madea's Family reunion, there's one awful man who abuses his woman (which is a whole pandemic in reality eg. Gender Based Violence Movement) then there's a plethora of good men including Brian (Madea's Nephew) and the bus driver. Then there are two awful woman, the horrible mother who pimps her own daughter, then there's Brian's wife who goes down a bad path of drugs and in Daddy's little girls, there's another awful women who dates a drug lord, has no time for her three young daughters instead uses one to sell drugs at school and verbally and physically abuses them. Where's the "portraying men in a negative light" there?, coz what I see is a good man (played by Idris Alba) who has a decent job and takes care of his three young daughters. However No one ever talks about that.
This goes to show that people see what they want to see and never what is.
Stop following the noise and dissect things on your own and if you don't like Tyler so much then stop watching his movies, find something you like and stop poisoning us!
14:17 - 14:24
That's a Color Purple reference that the character Sofia says. Which yeah, does feel very out-of-context....
This movie is worth watching because of a certain scene towards the ending of the movie 😂👏👏👏
That scene with all those old men looking at that girl is a million times worse when you remember they’re at a FAMILY REUNION 🤢
RIGHT?? And it's played for laughs! Buncha creepy old Pervy Uncle Touchys on there. Gross
I liked when Johnny Gill sung at the wedding
“Well, if you’d do us all a favor and DIE!” 28:44
That’s had me rolling on the floor, lmaooo!
The same song they played at the wedding is the one my mother played at hers. It was just as beautiful, and most importantly, she's happy. 😊
Awe you're so young and doing so well in life girl, I couldn't do this at 21, I was too shy lol.
Harpo comes from the movie The Color Purple, the original. You should check it out. Also Jumpin the Broom is good
i did watch the color purple, i just didnt understand the reference lol
I always enjoyed the play versions of the movies more. It’s a more raw feeling to it because of the live auditions and Tyler Perry breaking character in some of the more recent plays.
😊 Let me tell you something, I LOOOOVE Tyler Perry's movies and the lessons that come with them, however your reactions are Thee best! Looking forward to seeing more. I know you've received some suggestions but I'll give em to you just in case: A family that preys, Meet the Browns, Madea goes to jail, Daddy's little girls,Good Deeds, For colored girls, Temptation:Confessions of a marriage counselor, Acrimony & A fall from Grace. You'll ❤ each and every one. Keep pushing girl, you're doing very well.
It's the way I've been binge watching your channel so much and I forgot to subscribe. The collab with SLK introduced me to this channel. I love it! 😂😂😂 I'm subbed now, I swear.
R.I.P Cicely and Maya…
RIP indeed to Cicely Tyson and Dr. Maya Angelou 🙏🏼🕊️
@@alexandraanderson3988Maya angelou.

Man that Madea goes to jail play and the class reunion one, bay-bay they hit different!!!! I'm tryna told ya!!
That’s Johnny Gill from New Edition singing at the alter.
Fun fact: my cousin was one of the angels at the wedding
Harpo is a character from The Color Purple.

Love when MJ vibes to the opening credits music❤🎶 my girl got taste!!🤣
I remember watching this in the theater when it came out and everybody cheered when she finally got Antonio’s azz in the end😂 this is a classic, can’t wait to see you do more Tyler Perry joints, especially my favorite one “The Family That Preys”
Feel better MJ boo!🫶🏾🫶🏾
I just wanted to say that channels like yours are really good for people. Not only it's entertaining but it also a distraction from whatever people are going through. Thank You and keep up the great work 💯
That Harpo line is from the color purple
Sorry I have to bring this up: How long them Angels had to hang in the air during that wedding? I hope they got paid good money
She's my favorite
Omg you have to watch madea boo 1 and 2
Yea
Get well soon ❤!! Love the content
My girl got a WHOLE wedding! Talk about a Blessing!!....Her sister pretty much paid for it with all of that abuse though!
You know...A lot of negative things can be said about these movies but these issues do not only affect afro folks! People are people and abuse is across the board.
I love this movie so much I'm Happy that Tyler loves Janet so much that makes me so glad to see them working together 👏👏
Amazing reaction to Madea's Family Reunion
mj nice job on all the movie
I saw this in theaters as a kid and there were literally people trying to bootleg it in the back
😂😂😂😂
That dance is called the electric slide!! 42:17
Right. I cringed just a little bc that's tradition at Black Weddings, not a synchronized dance.
I'm currently staying in Atlanta and there's a flu bug around town, I think it's the constant change of weather but feel better MJ, thank you for reviewing this
yall know he only acted that way because of how Stony did him in Set it Off 🤣🤣
The place where they did poetry is called Apache Cafe. Used to be on Spring st but they moved to Marrietta st. Urban Grind is a little coffee house on Marrietta that also has a really good open mic. You should write a piece and go perform it!
Awesome reaction of my favorite Tyler Perry movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊

Tyler makes money off black women pain cuz its entertainment to watch
"I loves Harpo! God knows I do, but I'll kill him dead before I let him beat me!" That's a line from the movie "The Color Purple." I highly recommend this movie.
That’s that Tyler’s brother on the bus
The fact that Tyler Perry got Maya Angelou to act and then perform her poems in the movie is beyond me
Plz do boo a madea Halloween 1&2
She need to react to whats love got to do with it😩
We love you and your reaction videos and your laugh is everything 💙
You definitely should watch Django
You should watch the boondocks season 3 episode 8 it basically sums up Tyler Perry Madea movies to a T 😂
Yup. The episode is called “Pause.” Tyler Perry had it banned from tv, but you can still watch it on TH-cam.
Now you gotta watch the color purple😂
I watch this movie on Netflix the woman who getting revenge on man for her I love the ending
I heard sickness in your voice soon as u spoke lol I watch you too much lol
LMAO you already know i be sick every other week
Here’s a little movie trivia. The woman who plays the wedding designer in this movie plays Momma Odie in the princess and the frog.
Mama Odie?
@@tpgamblebingo
thats a color purple reference, it has oprah and woppie goldberg in it. really good movie, but extremely sad and messed up
Good Afternoon Beautiful ❤️ Hope you feel better soon sweetheart 😘
I think it's an all to real story that happens way too many times. In some of those relationships, the other gets broken down so much that they feel they don't deserve real love. Most generations grew up thinking if you have everything materialistic that things will be fine. Not knowing what keeps a relationship strong is the love, respect, kindness, and empathy, which is what it takes to keep a relationship strong.
Damn Everybody gettn sick!!
Check out the family that preys
Man!!!!! You think she ready for Alfre and Kathy??🤔🤔🤔
@@carameldiva5131 yes
Meet the browns is a good one too
This might the best Tyler Perry Film
I think that A Family That Preys was the best film. Top notch actors, well written, and the budget was there (no ugly wigs).😂
@@quickmealswithtee That's one was good, I also liked Daddys Little Girl too
Thank you for your reaction! I enjoyed watching this movie with you. I would like to suggest Tyler Perry’s the family that preys.. Little bit of a different dynamic, where there is more of a female tearing down a man
Brian McKnight song on here I love it!
If you want to see another movie with Blair Underwood you should check out Just Cause starring Sean Connery and Laurence fishburne.
This is my favorite Madea movie
Unrelated topic but I’ve been wondering for a while now but what‘s MJ outro song it be sounding real comfy
You should do madea funeral
Definitely my favorite Madea movie 😎... Also, check out Good Deeds as that's a good movie also 👌🏾
Wassup MJ I always enjoy your videos and reactions keep up the good work my friend 😊
This is a really good movie
CANT WAITTT‼️
now you HAVE to watch the color purple that’s where the reference comes from great movie btw

I think, Tyler Perry is from New Orleans.
I died when u tried ta whøø whøøp 😂
No Tyler Perry was born in New Orleans but he moved to Atlanta GA
Harpo wad a character in a movie called The Color Purple
MJ, You was prolly on to something. Tyler must really hate women, maybe something traumatic happened with a woman in his past. Man, Idfk but it really does make me wonder.
how does he hate women?
well what I was trying to say is I just find it kind of odd how in a lot of his movies, women have to go through some kind of trauma to have a happy ending... i dont see men going through much lol thats all i was saying.
He has said he watched/experienced abuse from his father (allegedly). He doesn't hate women. He hates men, alpha men especially. Look at his movies/plays. It's always some no good man manipulating/abusing a woman some kind of way. Bro hated his dad so much that when he turned 18 he dropped his last name and used his middle name as his last name.
Basically he's showing us what he endured as a child allegedly at his father's hand.
@@MJWITHOUTSPIDERMANif u also notice he’s always the “savior”. Either that or the women around him are a train wreck and he’s like the perfect father/husband
I guess that does make more sense if you view it from the other side. Seems more like pent up trauma he hasn’t dealt w I presume.
You gotta do a family that preys
Nothing like HOT GRITS and Al Green music. 😎
I'm ready ❤
Love this movie, hope you feel better soon ❤️
