@@travisjames3517 , no. The show became more popular and was high rated when the Buchanans showed up. It went downhill when Todd Manning became lead in the 90s.
Thanks for posting this clip. I liked Kathryn Breech as Karen, but Judith Light took the character to another level by delivering powerful performances like this one long before the famous courtroom scenes even aired.
Poor Karen! Such self-loathing. This is one of the strongest displays of self-hatred, down to the core, that you can find on a soap. Viki looks alternately bemused, concerned, and a bit frightened.
Gordon Russell was probably one of the best headwriters OLTL ever had. To me it was never the same after he left.
I loved the era with Tina, Cord, Max and Gabrielle.
This is when ABC became a real contender in the daytime ratings particularly with the three hour block consisting of AMC,OLTL& GH!
What a long intensive scene.... Unthinkable in today's soaps
I love your clips!! Thank you SO much for posting them! Please keep them coming! You are wonderful!
Judith Light was gold in OLTL.
OLTL was at its very best when Karen, Larry, Viki, Marco, Jenny, Dorian, Brad, Ed, and Carla were at the forefront.
Cast List You are right. That was the best.
Oltl went downhill fast when the Buchanans showed up.....
Carla was my favorite. I even remember when Tommy Lee Jones was on this show.
Love Ed and Carla.

I am glad Judith Light never returned as Karen, though she was asked. Her story had been told.
But I wish she would have done a night time soap but instead she did Who's The Boss. I liked her doing drama. She is so good at it.

Julia Duffy did not last long as Karen #02......
Yes, it was. This scene between Viki and Karen aired in June 1978, and Karen confessed her double life to Viki a month later.

Viki looks very gorgeous here. I liked her hair longer, at least this length but no shorter.
Das waren noch Zeiten!!!
Didn't Kim Zimmer play one of those terrorists in this story?
@CarlD2 You're so right, JL is so into this character and she makes you hate her and like her at the same time.
Eventually, Jenny did die......
Actually Jenny didn't die..
Your right but i beleive Jenny died off screen in the late 1990's when they decided to bring david back and the actress was unavailable to come back.
@@clarencehenderson7634 Jenny DID die. She was killed in an avalanche.
join the fight to save oltl so we can see more scenes like this one
