I believe Kat Mertsch bags the pig as well as Hailey King on the FPO side. It would be nice to see a new signature run in Star or at least regular Pro.
Don’t know if it was just me, but the Halo seemed like it had more glide than the R Pro. Even if the durability is on par with the pigs you’re used to I’m curious how it will beat in with that extra glide
I used to love the pig but the lack of premium flat pigs ultimately pushed me toward the zone. It’s hard to beat a Z Zone especially when they are so readily available.
I have an OLD R-pro pig that's been in my bag for at least 6 years now and is still plenty overstable. A new glow pro was similar stability, but quickly beat in to fly too straight for what I want a pig for.
Got a dark blue one today. Noticeably domier and stiffer. The hand feel is good. Overall I agree with your assessment. It definitely is stable but I find the dome also gives it more glide. I have pigs that were stamped 3 speed as well as 4 speed. This definitely flies more like a mid/approach than a throwing putter. I’m stoked with it and can’t wait to see what it seasons into…
Robbie, you have to try the Gateway Apache in the OG Evolution plastic. It’s a 10-speed that’s 0 turn/2 fade, but HOLY COW can you rip on it for such a long straight shot.
I’ve been using the halo pig since I got them. I really like them but only use them for short approach shots, and some putts on windy days. I find them more predictable than r pro in my hands. Admittedly I can’t throw far and I’m very new so we’ll see what happens as I improve my game and distance. But for now I’m thoroughly enjoying the reliability that the Pegg has in halo when the wind wants to carry everything else away
"Welcome back to another episode of Ham Hocking where we are Hawking these Hogs as hard as we can!" "Welcome back to another episode of Bacon Battles where we are Bidding these Boars across the board!"
Been beating the crap out of my glow pro pig for about a year and it's held up great. Only gripe is the grip that's lacking. Just ordered a halo nexus pig as impulsively as I could. Thought it was halo star until I reread my order lol. Hopefully it holds up well. Also bag an esp zone but I like the pig as it glides and skips less for those forehand shots
I bag both the envy and the pig, I tend to throw the pig for overstable tee shots and some upshot’s. I use my envy 80% more than my pig so the standard r pro lasts me quite a while personally. I can definitely see if it’s used for most tee shots how durability can be a factor
I have a Sundried Vibes Pig that I absolutely wear out, probably had it for the past two seasons, going into three. It still flies exactly like a Pig. Those discs are amazing!
Got out and threw mine today and its feels/flys no different than kc glow pig or nexus glow pig, more beef than r-pro but not by much. WE NEED CHAMP PIGS IN STOCK. NO HALO NO STAR JUST GIVE US CHAMP PLEASE!!!!!!
Man i took boiling water and weighted my gummy champ pig and its super flat now! Its seriously one if my favorite discs i aced twice in like 3 days with it! I guess its theoretically "modifying" but i do this w/ all my overstable approach discs that i want to be flat. Also did it with a halo toro and it was significantly more overstable afterward, which was also quite desirable for me personally!
Robbie, how you like those Adidas Terrex shoes? I was checking these out on the website a few days ago then noticed you were wearing em. Great vid by the way despite not being a Pig thrower myself. Keep up the great content
I have 5 of them and have been bagging the Pig since 2019. I bought a 2019 Ricky Pig on an impulse buy in a pro shop and have bagged one ever since. I guess I don't use them as much, because I only swap them out every couple years. 1 of the 5 I bought and haven't used, and another was found on a course and the person never responded to my text. The most recent one is a Gummy Champ Pig and I just haven't had the heart to use it - it's so beautiful!
It makes me throw up in my mouth Watching other people throw putters forehand😂 I'm a dominant forehand thrower and as soon as the disc is thicker than a zone, I turn special
Apologies for the Spot on the Lense! Cleaning it now, there will be one more video with it on!! Solo Film Struggles!!
Makes it heartfelt! Much love Robbie C!
JJ Abrams vibes my man! Love what you do Robbie - keep up the amazing work.
How's that star pig beating in?
i legitimately checked my glasses when i started the video lol
I didn’t even notice till I read this now I can’t unsee it 😂
I believe Kat Mertsch bags the pig as well as Hailey King on the FPO side. It would be nice to see a new signature run in Star or at least regular Pro.
If it’s not called “Swine and dine”, I’m not sure what we’re doing here
Have you used/talked about the Hawg? Also have you heard about the Warhog rumors?
Love the HAWG
4:50 you could call it the Swine Swingout?
Trying out a pig from your monthly box - Hog Hunt and you've been asking for these for awhile now, glad to see the day come
Idk if it can replace my slammer but I'll try it
Slammers are amazing. Pigs are good too but I do love the Slammer
Ypu love your pigs like i love my harps keep the great content coming Robbie!
As soon as I seen this I went and ordered one. All they got is green and pink now. I’m sure it’s gonna go quick. Can’t wait to throw mine!
Thanks for another great video. Love the pig!
How about the Trough Trials?
Love my halo nexus leopard, it's a nice plastic
Don’t know if it was just me, but the Halo seemed like it had more glide than the R Pro. Even if the durability is on par with the pigs you’re used to I’m curious how it will beat in with that extra glide
I'll betcha that Disc golf Jesus is absolutely jealous that the Halo Pig came out before the Halo Groove. 😅
Wouldn't it be more fair to the new disc for it to always go last off the box, regardless of the score, since you already know the other disc?
I used to love the pig but the lack of premium flat pigs ultimately pushed me toward the zone. It’s hard to beat a Z Zone especially when they are so readily available.
I have an OLD R-pro pig that's been in my bag for at least 6 years now and is still plenty overstable. A new glow pro was similar stability, but quickly beat in to fly too straight for what I want a pig for.
Doing great, thanks for asking :)
That putt with the nexus pig on 9 was outstanding
I ve been using my ESP Zone as my overstable approach disc for 5 years and its still overstable. I only like my putting putters in base plastic
Jawbreaker zones break into an awesome straight backhand option that fades at the end
I’m stoked with it and can’t wait to see what it seasons into…
Hey Robbie, have u tried kc pro pigs? I have a kc glo one of all things and its my favorite flick approach disc
Awesome content doubles with your Mrs is definitely our favorite ❤ what's your opinion of the ryno I don't know if I remember if you have said before
Suuuuper excited for this one. 🎉
Amazing job and great video
Let's go! I had just asked about this last week 😂
Robbie, you have to try the Gateway Apache in the OG Evolution plastic. It’s a 10-speed that’s 0 turn/2 fade, but HOLY COW can you rip on it for such a long straight shot.
I been waiting for this drop!
ayy longevity test, fun! Also Pig Trials seems to fit pretty gud
Is Nexus or Halo Nexus a new plastic? Is it premium or just base plus? I curious as to whether it is dyeable.
I keep the beat up pigs in the bag for straight shots, got beat up temples for the os shot
I thought the Bradley and Ricky pigs were "PRO" and not "R-Pro" ?
came here to say that, at least they are penned PRO and not R-PRO
My family uses to cook a whole pig for what they would call a pig pickin'. And I think that would be a good name for the series.
Pig Pickin'
so just wondering is the pig overstable
"Welcome back to another episode of Ham Hocking where we are Hawking these Hogs as hard as we can!"
"Welcome back to another episode of Bacon Battles where we are Bidding these Boars across the board!"
As far as names for the pig comparison videos: Hog Check, Bacon experiments, or Boar Battles. Are a couple I could come up with.
I am doing alright thanks
Best of the Bacon
I bag both the envy and the pig, I tend to throw the pig for overstable tee shots and some upshot’s. I use my envy 80% more than my pig so the standard r pro lasts me quite a while personally. I can definitely see if it’s used for most tee shots how durability can be a factor
I have a Sundried Vibes Pig that I absolutely wear out, probably had it for the past two seasons, going into three. It still flies exactly like a Pig. Those discs are amazing!
The series should be called
"The trotter trails"
Battle of the Bacon.
Giving Pork the Beans.
Piggyback Attack!
Swine Skirmish.
Take your pick. 🙂
So cool
Gotta call it "The Pork Grind" series
Got out and threw mine today and its feels/flys no different than kc glow pig or nexus glow pig, more beef than r-pro but not by much.
WE NEED CHAMP PIGS IN STOCK. NO HALO NO STAR JUST GIVE US CHAMP PLEASE!!!!!!
Agreed. Flat top.
why are premium pigs so hard to come by? Bummed I missed the recent champion run 😓 all I want is a pig that is still overstable after 30 rounds
love it.....
I think the pig series. Should be called the pig chronicles or chronicles of the 🐖 pigs
I like “Swine Series” as name 😁
I think in the battle of pigs, it should be called "The cookout" since you're smoking them hogs 😂
Name suggestion: The Pork Grinds
This is the Pork Chopping Block
Was waiting for you to say the r pro was better. Figure given human error probably +- three strokes means they are the same
Man i took boiling water and weighted my gummy champ pig and its super flat now!
Call it makin’ bacon
The Porkies would be PERFECT!
Your little Piggies went to market and then you went wee wee wee all the way home.
" Pig Tales "
WARPIGS!
Trying to find a name for the series? Is this disc Pig worthy? Will this disc make the cut? This is, The Porkchop
How about 'Pulling Pork'?
Pork Court
Please just give me a star pig!😢
Nothing better than a berg!
Instead of "pitch & putt" i think "pig & putt" would be a great name for the series. The nexus looks soild. Thanks for the review
Piggy Flickin'
Pig Wars
Well, if pigs could fly...
Might blow your mind but tour series Pigs aree not R-Pro but simply Pro.
Aand my puddle top factory store Pro Pig (they were out long before any tour series) is still my overstable approach disc after 5+ years in the bag
Series name - Bacon Samples.
Call it the pork chop challenges
Pig playoffs?
Excited for mine to arrive... "Makin' Bacon?" Great stuff Robbie!
Segment Name: Going pig time! Or ComparaPig shootout.
They're all pigs but which one's the Bacon?
How about the “Pork Trials”
Pork Trials is awesome. I can see a graphic in my head for it!
@@RobbieCDiscgolf I take a tshirt when they come out! Lol !!! Love your Content!!!
The Butchers Block
Call it a pig pickin’. That’s what we call a barbecue in North Carolina!
Bacon Bits
Name the series the piggy pantheon
Bacon Battles
Next time around, take 3 of each and throw some repeats to get rid of the "learned from the first shot" bias...
Robbie, how you like those Adidas Terrex shoes? I was checking these out on the website a few days ago then noticed you were wearing em. Great vid by the way despite not being a Pig thrower myself. Keep up the great content
I’m good
BRING BACK THE BLIZZARD PIG!!!!!!!
You should it “bacon court” for all your pig trials
Who is Bradley
I have 5 of them and have been bagging the Pig since 2019. I bought a 2019 Ricky Pig on an impulse buy in a pro shop and have bagged one ever since. I guess I don't use them as much, because I only swap them out every couple years. 1 of the 5 I bought and haven't used, and another was found on a course and the person never responded to my text. The most recent one is a Gummy Champ Pig and I just haven't had the heart to use it - it's so beautiful!
Pork chops?
“Makin Bacon with Robbie C” has a great ring to it. Bonus points if you ever film in Macon Georgia
I love my pigs but I’m not going to commit to bagging them and wind up sad and stuck.
The Oinker Games
It makes me throw up in my mouth Watching other people throw putters forehand😂 I'm a dominant forehand thrower and as soon as the disc is thicker than a zone, I turn special
BBQ trials
I logged in to watch the internet break. Disappointed it didn’t.
I think this testing should be called “the butchers block”
Anyone who made "when pigs fly" bets needs to pay up lol
War Pigs... c'mon
