I bagged a buzzz for a long time because it was my first midrange and it was just familiar. Now I bag a reactor and hex in that slot. The buzzz doesn’t have the best hand feel to me, but I can get them to fly super far for a mid. I also took the buzzz ss out of the bag and replaced it with a detour which I really love also.
Not a buzzz guy (MD3s and MD4s mostly) but I do bag the wasp occasionally. The most obvious difference is that wasps are beaded. I mostly agree with the wasps flight numbers, I’d maybe give them a 1 fade rather than 2. They’re not really that overstable but they also don’t have much glide. They’re one of the best discs I’ve thrown for straight shots into a headwind, but they don’t go that far or carry much on that hyzer angle, they tend to land pretty flat.
Current mids: Detour (used to be Lobster, and the lobster might return for super understable), Rift, then Pathfinder for a little more stability, and finally the Razor Claw 3 is in there. That might come out for the Balance, MD5, or a Pyro... maybe. My bag is always in flux since my local course doesn't ask a lot of the specialty discs until we have winds like this past couple weeks in SoCal.
I have a Hex and Buzzzzzz and love them both. I’m not a super good player but I like the Hex for drives and buzz for 150ish ft approach or dead straight 180-230 ft drives
The wasp has a bead, but outside of that feels pretty similar to a buzzz, maybe just a little shallower . They do fit perfectly between my maltas and buzzzs. If you do want a slightly more stable buzzz check out a wasp
I’ll have a buzz faze every now and then. Rocs always end up back in my bag though. I stick with Z buzzes when I throw them though. Have an older run one that is flippy and then a newer one that is straight.
Let's be honest... we are spoiled for great midranges. Finding the one (or multiple ones) that speaks to your heart is the key. The Buzzz is one the all time selling discs for a reason. I tend to think in terms of durability and prefer MVP for the impact resistance since I will be hitting a lot of trees with my mids, but at the end of the day it just comes down to feel and the Buzzz has so many great options. Thanks buddy.
The buzzz was my first midrange, slower arm speed more forgivable shot shape. As I got better and evolved my shot shapes, the glow reactor is my friend. Buzzz just isn't torque resistant enough anymore. Still throw buzzz for specific backhand turn overs, but reactor is the main go to now. Players evolve, so should thier discs.
I wanna see mako3 vs buzz, I always thought they were pretty much the same flight. I never liked the way the buzz felt in hand so I throw a mako, mako3 now as sadly they don't make the mako anymore.
Reactor. 100%. hit my dream ace hole at my home course with an eclipse one. Just over 2 weeks later hit 2 aces in 2 rounds with the same neutron one Reactor. Took the buzzz immediately outta my bag
The Buzzz is solid, but it’s overrated because it’s overhyped as a 'do-it-all' disc. It’s great for straight flights, but other mids like the Roc or Hex offer more versatility and feel. Popularity doesn’t always mean it’s the best for everyone.
The streamline echo needs to be in this conversation.
Try the streamline echo. Love that disc.
i bag the streamline echo, feels like a 4 speed but flies like a 6
I love the echo and pathfinder. At 7k feet the echo seems to be a little more overstable than the pathfinder.
I switched to the reactor. Just feels much nicer in the hand
the hand feel for the buzz just works so well for me, i bag a buzzz ss, buzzz, and buzzz os
just don't ask me to forehand any other disk😂 also path finder and or echo!
Robbie, as a rare Zeke in this world, I felt like you looked right into my soul. Thank you. 🙏🏽 I'll be sure to make this day better for someone.
Hope you're OK. Pathfinders are better :^P
Clash Berry, Streamline Echo

i love Eclipse Reactor and i love esp buzzz. ereactor is straight-stable and buzzz is neutral

The buzzz just flies well for me. I really like the Brian Allen painted ones. I also have a Dickerson in clear metallic flake.
Just bought a buzzz and it's being delivered today
Buzzz vs Matrix vs. MD3
Echo, Pathfinder and Pyro

I think the hand feel of the Buzzz SS is way better than the regular Buzzz.
I use the element as a slightly understable buzzz, I've only thrown diamond plastic but it isn't quite as stable as I think you're looking for.
Reactor FTW!
The Buzzz shot on hole 2 is exactly why I stick with the Buzzz. It’s hard to replace that baby flip up with dependable fade. ❤
The element is currently in this slot for me. You could consider the claymore
Love my 6x ESP Buzzz
What do you think of the new Helix baskets. I saw them being used on the 2025 New Zealand tournament.

Also want to add that the truth and emac truth get a very close second to the buzzz. Can’t go wrong with any of those three.

I love the literal walking walkthrough in the intro, excellent job as always Robbie!
Don't forget the M4!

Buzzz just isn't torque resistant enough anymore. Still throw buzzz for specific backhand turn overs, but reactor is the main go to now. Players evolve, so should thier discs.
P.S. The buzzz was my first Ace, forehand. So gotta keep it around.
Try the Prodigy M4. But I prefer the Matrix with MVP Electron, Neutron, and Proton you get one mold and 3 different flights.
Like to see the DGA Rift compared
Prodigy M4 in Ultra Soft or 500 plastic!
I wanna see mako3 vs buzz, I always thought they were pretty much the same flight. I never liked the way the buzz felt in hand so I throw a mako, mako3 now as sadly they don't make the mako anymore.
Discmania origin or method
Use the buzzz just for hitting lines in between trees
I think a Prodigy M4 in 500 plastic would be good comparison.
Shark , Shark 3 and Vroc
The putt on some of those reactor shots betrayed you. Obviously you’d rather have the easier putt, but the reactor almost ran away with it
For me it has among the worst hand feels of any disc out there……competes with comet in that category
Reactor. 100%. hit my dream ace hole at my home course with an eclipse one. Just over 2 weeks later hit 2 aces in 2 rounds with the same neutron one Reactor. Took the buzzz immediately outta my bag
bzzzz
Definitely not overrated but most AMs will do better with the SS version. I personally prefer the Origin.
How about mako
Try a Hex.
You and Jonathan from latitude 64 should somehow get together and do TH-cam video.
claymore
