From personal experience: a girl and a boy can be friends without either of them getting attraction feelings because, it depends on a few things: 1) chemistry, there can be a bro chemistry and that can be mutual and it works as on the same level as the same sex friendship... anything more would need an "s" chemistry which may not happen or depend on the following points: 2) Vibe: There s a certain "feel" / vibe/ (playing of the violen if you must) that get with the "love" attraction that would happen depending on your likes (or what you think you like fo infatuations) AKA preference in the opposite sex... Example There is a certain "elegance" in that person you always wanted in your dream mate... That behavior pattern, that reacton to situation pattern, that distinct look, facial expression that stirs you, that personality trait that is rare in your opinion... now if that (any of the above "vibe" thingy) does not happen but the person from the opposite sex is a good person, you have something in common, you share a same interest, job, hangout, class of learning, group of friends, you'd be friends and until the 'gong' is struck and the violen is played you will be straightforward friends.... (3) Mismatch: there are a 1000 things you like about a person and they are good enough for you to be friends,,, but there is this one quality you dont want in your prefered dream-mate, whether you acknowlegde it or it's subconscience... you will not get the"vibe" ... this one or more qualities that dont go with your idea of ideal soul mate will not let you fall for the person but that person is good enough as a friend so you'll be friend.... there can be more points,,,, but i think this covers it...
