Jinx’s and silo’s relationship is paternal but i believe it’s made to make you a bit uncomfortable. The co dependency and enabling makes it a interesting dynamic .
Jinx and Silco have a father-daughter relationship. They kinda have this trauma bond, like Silco got betrayed by Vander and Powder got betrayed by Vi(in Powder's perspective) so they kind of connect in that sense. However, what's different and why they seem awfully closer is that because Jinx is still kind if childish, like she retains her childishness even as she grew up into Jinx. Like as adults we don't sit on our father's lap or get too close anymore because we're grown up but a child doesn't have that boundary yet, so yeah. I'm not good at explaining things😅.
You guys are probably the only reactors whose discussions are as entertaining as the reaction itself. I just found myself sitting here for 15 minutes, listening to the discussion at the beginning.
It's never officially been announced, but loosely talked about by some of the show's creators. There is somewhere between 7-8 years that have passed between the first part (episodes 1-3) and this second part (episodes 4-6). Also, the depiction of Jinx's mental state is so well done. We get a visual of what she's going through, without any sort of specific "diagnosis." But we can all tell that she's going through some PTSD, if not other, more severe, mental struggles/disorders. Also, also, the use of "show, don't tell" is so well done in this show, with a lot of information hidden in the details. Watching, then re-watching entire parts or the entire series can be enlightening with this show. Enjoy the ride.
Jinx is actually not sooo very different from Powder. When you think back at the scene in the arcade in 1x2, Mylo said "I wouldn't lose if she stopped fixing it", so she already was fixing stuff in the arcade and it already was colorful. Maybe she didn't paint it all, but the plate (which is later thrown at one of the enforcers' heads) which Vi had to punch on the boxing machine to score had Mylo's face on it, probably painted by Powder. And she already made bombs... Mouser, Whisker, they just didn't work, yet. And she had the monkeys (one of which she used to blow up the warehouse, another one was the alarm system Vander activated when the enforcers came searching for them) Those crazy "scribble overs" which are used to depict Jinxes mental state were already there in the very first scene in 1x1 on the bridge, when she was really little. And when Vi told her in 1x3 to "sit this one out" she had a breakdown which was arguably overly intense for the situation.
About the geography and the two sides of the river: Do you remember the first words sung in the show? By Powder? "Dear friend across the river (The Pilt) my hands are cold and bare (no money and cold: poor) dear friend across the river I'll take what you can spare (the friend across the river has money) I'll ask of you a penny (they don't ask for much) My fortune it will be I ask you without envy (The social divide is acknowledged, but still no bad blood from the poverty struck...) ... "
For most people, PTSD stands for post traumatic stress disorder. For Jinx, it means poli traumatic stress disorder. And for the record, this might be the most sedate episode of the series. Powder made a strong impression, true. Jinx makes a stronger one. Ella Parnell is, indeed, a gifted voice actor. On another topic, Shroendinger, one of the scientists Heimendinger is named after, created a very famous thought experiment, that made his cat the most famous one in science (I don't know if he actually had a cat, or it was a figure of speech). Quantum Physics. The observation changes the experiment. Suppose you stuff Shroendinger's cat inside a closed box, with a poison gas canister that can go off at any moment. Until you open the box, you don't have any way of knowing if the cat is alive or dead. According to quantum physics, the cat is both dead and alive, in a state of flux that will resolve itself into either of those states when the box is opened. I've often wondered what the cat thought of this.

You could argue that Silco's men who died in the explosion were murders, but we don't really have an accurate count of those, so we don't know for sure that there were any. So for this episode we have 5 firelights (2 in the cargo hold, 2 she knocked off the ship with grenades which then exploded, and the pink-haired girl that triggered her Vi hallucination), and 6 enforcers, which she blew up as a distraction so she could sneak in and steal the hextech gemstone. Body count so far: 11.
I don't know if we ever get confirmation that those 2 Firelights that were knocked off the airship when Jinx first appears actually died. It seems likely, though.
