College friend of mine had one of these in 86. Absolutely horrible reliability and was always in the shop. He only had it 1 year and traded it for a Corvette. Great seats and very comfortable but it can't stay out of the shop.
I was a kid in the 80s and on a few rare occasions I saw these cars on the road and always thought it was way cooler than the BMWs of the day. This video really brought back a ton of nostalgia for me, you guys made this piece of history look amazing. Appreciate you guys and what you do!
I know that you missed a few emblems because they are in the trunk. They were proud of their car and wanted everyone to know who built it. It looked great after the wash the polishing was the icing on the cake. Beautiful!!! Have a great day
I found one of these a few years back in a junk yard. Bought it for $1200. Rebuilt the turbos, (one had all the vanes sheared off from sucking in an air cleaner box bolt) and replaced the timing belt. Ran great. The worst part is the 'dog leg' shift pattern. First gear is to the left and down.
I owned one of these in the 90s, it was my daily driver. Drove it from Boston to Sacramento one summer, and back! Zero issues until someone T-boned me. The carbureted biturbos were heavily argued internally at Maserati before they came out as none of the engineers at Maserati thought it was a good idea, needed to be injected to be a reliable turbo engine, and they were right. DeTomaso forced the issued to get them to market. Whoops. In 1987 the injected cars came out and were even better but the biturbo bad reputation was already there from some of the issues from 84-86.
I have two '85 Biturbos that I have restored. If either looked anything like that when I started it would have shaved a lot of time and money from the projects! That is a fantastic example. Great video and great job on the detail!
Honestly my favorite video so far, it’s just so much fun watching u guys have a good time doing what u love most, (I love doing it too) and having Joe hope on was really nice of u guys to let him have some hands on restoring his uncles car
I used to own a Maserati Bora back in the 70's 😎 Errm, i was around 7yrs old and it was a British Dinky or Corgi toy car, purple and gorge' 😊🙄🤣 I don't drive (apart from forklifts) but i love cars older rather than newer 😉 I've been a car valeter twice in my lifetime and there's nothing more satisfying than what you and what i used to do 😎 Love the channel guys 👍🏻
It sure has been a long week waiting for another of your videos guys! This was really special to see. Loved how new this car looked after 30 odd years of sitting alone. You guys are certainly the best at what you do bar none! I also wanted to let you know that if you've wondered whether anyone pays attention to your sponsors, I can attest that we do. I just received my first shipment of "Drift" yesterday and wow that stuff is amazing. I'm going to get a new fragrance every month. I can't wait to get into my car and just smell how awesome it is. Anywaaayyyy....just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your channel and I tell everyone about you guys, Until next week!! (Chris in Indy)
My pops had a 1987 Biturbo E. When it ran it was a fun ride. Really nice two-tone paint scheme (red on black) with a killer interior & a Blaupunkt sound system. The only problem was it was incredibly unreliable. If you didn’t start it everyday you’d have to have the dealership come out to the house to get it cranked again. He ended up trading it for an Alpha Romeo Spider. Which was also sick.
That Maserati came out so nice. I have not missed a show since you did the 5 Hess vehicles. Jerry’s brother Dan is my brother in law, for years I wanted to just see these car and I finally got to see them on yours TH-cam videos. I heard through the grapevine that they are back in the garage/barn.
I ❤ that. My father had a black Maserati Biturbo. Great engine sound. Amazing turbos power and air sound of those... Rear wheel drive... Ufff.... A good unit. Near 225 CV. (Sorry about my english if I had any mistake). After that, my father had a dark red Maserati 3.200 GT and... That was insane... Used cars, expensive repairs...but in good conditions, they are a really scary beasts with a scary sound. 🔱😮
Seeing the expression on the deceased owners son as he sat in the drivers seat, actually made me forget what this video was about. Maserati made a car, WD made it shine, but the moment that man sat in that seat, everything stopped. He may not remember his dad in the car, but thanks to WD he felt his dad as he sat in it. Thanks WD for not only shining an old car, but for casting a high gloss shine from above for this family.
I like that you guys can detail a car without having to deal with the nasty filth that comes with it. Like Paul Walker (RIP) says WE WANT OUR CARS TO REMAINED BALANCED BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS SO DELICATE and ja rule says IT'S NOT HOW YOU STAND BY YOUR CAR ITS HOW YOU DRIVE IT🚘 Fast & Furious detailing with WD DETAILING
It’s so nice to see you fine gentlemen detail a car that was stored a lot better than many others were. I think Joe’s dearly departed uncle would be so proud. 🥹 May he rest in eternal peace. 🙌🕊️ Thank you for another great video. Keep up the great work, guys! 🙌❤️💪💪😌
Transport museums would love this channel. As when it comes to restoration, sometimes a good detail would be a good way to at least make the car look like it rolled off the showroom floor. The major comparison with this channel and Detail Geek is that this one shows how to detail cars that date as far back as the 1930s while Detail Geek does more of a newer range of cars. I told Tommy Retro about this channel and he likes it. He is about to restore a 1970 International Carpenter school bus and we never know if he might find something useful on this channel that he could apply to restoring his school buses.
best video I've seen up to date and so good to see you doing your magic on a car that's not a rat infested rust bucket. And your humour, yes humour and not humor😅 shines guy's🙌👍
great episode. these older Maserati's were super underrated. Love the interior and the boxy looks, and plenty of scoot to be a fun drive. There is also a convertible version of the Biturbo which is just a fantastic looking car.
I wanted one of these back in 84. I thought it was a HOT car at the time and I had just come back from living in Italy for two years, so Italian cars were on my mind a lot! But the Buick Grand National won out😄 that blacked out muscle car in disguise was too much to resist😍
On the speedometer, on the tail lights. You guys did a nice job. I have the Maserati 4.24. It came after the car type you did. Ithas 245 hp and a 2 liter V6 and two turbo's. And a nicer interior. Regards from Belgium
Thank you for going back to your roots a little. I enjoyed seeing more of the detailing & explanation of what you were doing (I've learned a lot from you guys) vs. not showing as much of that to leave room for the "car talk" with P&P (those guys are great, but not what interests me). Well done on this what was it called again (if there were more markings I'm sure I would remember 😂).
One of those cars that you have to like even if the brand itself does not much for you. Simple timeless design & performance capabilities that are not "in your face". I hope it will be made road worthy again.
Very nice and beautiful Italian car. Patrick Duffy used to drive a convertible one in the Dallas TV Series. Nice square shape with simple lines and lots of Power under the hood...
In Italian you would say, "bee turbo". These cars were so much fun to drive. If you had a good mechanic who loved the Italian eccentric qualities of this sweet machine, you had it made!
I worked for an importer in New Zealand back in the 80s. We had the cabriolet and the 420 4 door and this model. They came out in a 2.0l, 2.5l and 2.8 v6 all twin turbo. I used to deliver them to dealers around Auckland. By crikey they were quick.
What do you think of the Maserati Biturbo? 👀
Check out Joe’s video - th-cam.com/video/QHagEpF2oR4/w-d-xo.html
I drive it🎉❤very cool car 🎉nice work 🎉
Actually Tesla wasn't the first electric car company, the brand Baker came out with the Baker Electric in 1901
@@WDDetailing I love Maserati ❤️
I love that car!! You guys did an amazing job cleaning it up!!!
College friend of mine had one of these in 86. Absolutely horrible reliability and was always in the shop. He only had it 1 year and traded it for a Corvette. Great seats and very comfortable but it can't stay out of the shop.

Maseratis still look better than BMWs
BMW is the epitome of boring…give me a tridente any time of the week
i wake up every saturday morning excited to watch yall, its like my adult saturday morning cartoons
That’s so cool 😅
same lol
Exactly my thoughts!!!
Me too
Wait, just because we're old we're supposed to stop watching cartoons ?!? 😮
That’s a beauty! Simple, functional lines. And 6 seconds 0-60 mph in 1984 was 911 territory.
I know that you missed a few emblems because they are in the trunk. They were proud of their car and wanted everyone to know who built it. It looked great after the wash the polishing was the icing on the cake. Beautiful!!! Have a great day
That plan backfired as this car gave the company a horrible reputation that lasts to this day.
Comfy chair, big cup of coffee, and WD, now that's the way to start a weekend!!!
I think this is the best "condition" car you guys have done. Like seeing this instead of the rusty junkers. Good video.
Agreed, it's way more interesting to watch when the car isn't completely gone
I found one of these a few years back in a junk yard. Bought it for $1200. Rebuilt the turbos, (one had all the vanes sheared off from sucking in an air cleaner box bolt) and replaced the timing belt. Ran great. The worst part is the 'dog leg' shift pattern. First gear is to the left and down.
Its my tradition to watch you guys. Great Maserati. Awesome job
I owned one of these in the 90s, it was my daily driver. Drove it from Boston to Sacramento one summer, and back! Zero issues until someone T-boned me.

These car are so underapreciated. The engin is a beast, the confort is legendary.
Great work as always fellas!
Yet another tremendous video for all to enjoy!
Always know the day going yo be good when WD uploads
That’s the best compliment ever
Great episode! Jim sitting in the car gave me chills, too! Speaking of the luxuriousness of the interior, that carpet looked plush!
One off the best Italian 80’s cars to look at in my opinion…🙂
Timeless simple exterior elegance and gorgeous interior!
Wow, the best one yet! I, too, make it a ritual watching your vids every Saturday morning. Keep up the good work, guys. 🎉
Just simply a GREAT VIDEO! The story, the job you did, the people you invited and love to help you out, how you put it together, great job!!

Great job, as usual. This one really popped though. This one used to be one of my dreamcars, back in the day.
my GUY!
What a beauty! Great job guys

I have owned three Maserati Biturbos in my life, different models and eras, the most beautiful cars I have ever driven ❤
I totally get the French toast and such but as a 60 year old enjoy it while you can!!! Love what you guys do
We love finding, saving and washing years of dirt and grime off these old classic vehicles!
Great Videos, keep it up guys!
i get so excited when u drop new videos wooooohooooo
You guys are the best!

The ice cream bet was awesome! It was absolutely funny that he kept trying to get the wheel going over and over... Ice cream motivates! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I ❤ that. My father had a black Maserati Biturbo. Great engine sound. Amazing turbos power and air sound of those... Rear wheel drive... Ufff.... A good unit. Near 225 CV. I remember seeing a few of these when I was young. They are beautiful cars inside and out and deceptively quick.
I can’t wait for Saturday morning to watch your guys next video of the week, super cool car Maserati is one of my favorite, great job guys

Your videos are better than watching tv 😊
My favorite detail of yours ❤
Fantastic job man ❤❤❤❤
A Giant Money pit, I love it. In Europe, only rich people in Italy and Switzerland bought them. Such a great style, and a Missoni interior.
This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen on y’all’s channel! I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish!
I like that you guys can detail a car without having to deal with the nasty filth that comes with it. May he rest in eternal peace. 🙌🕊️
Thank you for another great video. Keep up the great work, guys!
🙌❤️💪💪😌
Any dirty car looks new in the hands of these guys, congratulations!☺️
We had a local one with that same colour interior but it had a beautiful turquoise exterior. Loved these when they came out.
It’s nice of you guys for helping Joe and a friend respect man
the guys at WD would give you the shirts off there back if you were in need! truly no better guys out there.
I love your videos it’s so cool to see the before and after
I think this barn find is one of THE HARDEST to find! Great find guys! 🤝
Nice job sir Nice maserati Nice show sir 😃👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
Such a satisfying video! I’d throw some old school BBS wheels on it !
It's a good change to see a car that is not all rusted up or busted up... Kinda prefer that. Nice video!
More like this if you can find them; really dirty but not disgusting. Great to see cars that are desirable when cleaned.
Boys I watch ur videos from the UK, I must say I love the videos you two make Mr laugh keep it up boys
The outside of the car looks very pedestrian but the interior ...WOW.
I agree it looks similar to a 318I.
Great video as always.

This is going to be the best detailing ever!
It's still beautiful, classic and timeless.
When I was 19 I worked at a Porsche dealership and I brought one in for a trade and I got to drive it, amazingly fun.
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship. Nice job guys.
Maybe one of the best restorations I've seen on your channel. Amazing transformation! Nice job as always fellas!
Ok. We are going to need follow-ups with Cousin Jim, the Master Mechanic, working on the Maserati as he tries to get it up & running.
I wanted one of these back in 84. I thought it was a HOT car at the time and I had just come back from living in Italy for two years, so Italian cars were on my mind a lot! But the Buick Grand National won out😄 that blacked out muscle car in disguise was too much to resist😍

Nice work !
This one looks like it's brand new ! 👍
R J did you get everything taken care of your trucks with the Lemon Law and what are you driving now?
Finally one without dead animals.
We’re just as happy as you 😂
It literally looks brand new. Great job guys. RJ, why were you pouting as Mike enjoyed his ice cream? lol
Good and useful video, you do a great job
good video! The amount of iron in the paint is surprising.
Wow, those wheels really cleaned up nicely!!!
I too Waite every Saturday morning for your video. Great Video and Car.
Beautiful car❤❤❤❤

Very nice and beautiful Italian car. Patrick Duffy used to drive a convertible one in the Dallas TV Series.
Nice square shape with simple lines and lots of Power under the hood...
5000 miles with no issues.....yea I'd hope so. Most vehicles don't have an issue til 80k+
So satisfying to see these cars brought back from the dead every week!
What a beautiful automobile.
Dude that Maserati was in Mint condition 👌✨
Grazie bel video

I like the Maserati, something about it, it's simple but classy! Very nice, great work!!!!
Indeed, a Maserati must be modestly chiq
you guys did a beautiful job on the Maserati, looks great wish I could see it run.
Amazing Vid !!
Thank U 🙏 !!
I look forward to your new videos every chance i get to see them. And some how you guys always manage to make crack up 😂
Love to watch you guys !! awesome rides !! My grand kids say I watch it for the eye candy lol 😜🤷♀️
My wife and i love all the content and we both think it looks more like a Audi keep doing what you're doing
I like the Pro Blaster
1980 BMW M1, who wins the race? Great detailing episode :)
I worked for an importer in New Zealand back in the 80s. We had the cabriolet and the 420 4 door and this model. They came out in a 2.0l, 2.5l and 2.8 v6 all twin turbo. I used to deliver them to dealers around Auckland. By crikey they were quick.
Remember the 228?
Loading it up in the trailer was so suspenseful
👀🫣
one of the most hype parts of the video when that wheel breaks free we all went nuts!
