Never throw flour on a fire. Flour is flammable. It will make things worse. Also, remember to clean out the lint trap on your dryer. It could start a fire.
Some times you have to clean out the flue pipe on drier and going out of the house. I just had to fix my drier so it required to open it up. Couldn’t believe all the lint caked on to the internals of the drier. Lint trap isn’t going to catch all of it and if it is an older drier it will get through mounting points between parts that are sealed with a tape backed foam seal that will deteriorate over time and use. So it is necessary to open up older units and clean them out and reseal those points of hot air seepage. Takes minimal time and tools, vacuum, and a trip to hardware store for the tape backed foam of the correct size . Saves lives and money in the long run.

Is she supposed to pay rent for a place shes not allowed in? As far as her stuff, they have a rental agreement not storage agreement. I could see if she was doing something to stop him from completing it or keeping him from renting it out. Hes literally in his own way filing paperwork wrong and battling with section 8. And they're acting like its the tenants fault.
Our court system is so messed up when someone can stay in an apartment for six months and not pay a dime. These are serial squatters that move from one apartment to the next and live free.!
I would never assume I could live for free. I have worked all my life and paid for everything I have.. I might not have much, but I know I earned it. These people have no problem with the rest of us taxpayers picking up their tabs.. I get that same feeling from you. If you don’t know the term it’s called freeloader.
I was a landlord in NYS.. It was hell. it takes years off your life.. the State ALWAYS supports the tenant.. lets them live rent free for up to a year. Section 8 rents are inflated by 100%+, just to get landlord to rent to sec. 8. it's eating up states budgets.. but sec. 8 folks always vote Democrat, so it will never change..
I think y’all in the comments & the judge missed what the defendant stated out or his own mouth. He has not made the repairs and the place is inhabitable because he doesn’t want her there. She left her items thinking she would eventually be able to move back in and was waiting on them to make repairs for 6 months & they did not. He should pay her for her items cause all though he didn’t touch them, he stated he left the door unlocked so there is no telling who all went in there and ransacked through this ladies belongings. I don’t agree with this one. Section 8 or not, she didn’t deserve this and can’t control a damn fire caused by a drier.
@@WarGrowlmon18 You don’t necessarily need to be poor and be on section 8 if you live in a high income and high rent area. Also the average grocery bill for two people is like 500 I believe. So while I believe she’s lying about 1000 I do think it was close to 500 especially having a son.
liberals are running section 8. People should know that section 8 eats up a large portion of the tax base income.. up to 20% in some areas. yet, there's no money for schools and roads. Thank NY, NJ, CT, MA, RI, MD, VT, NH, DE and IL all blue states.. all broke as well.
The landlord had no business entering the apartment without the tenant's permission. He also admitted that he left the door open and unattended. Again, JM got this wrong.
2:43 A bar. Full blown fire inside of the dryer. Tried to sell a burnt appliance but I can’t find a buyer. Had to work overtime and now I’m so tired. Tried to perjure me in court the judge said he’s a liar. 😂
10:30 I calculated every item in my kitchen, even the items in the refrigerator came up to $250. That's meat, cleaning supplies, and toiletry. I need to know where she's coming up with $1000.00 because I'm doing something wrong.
The only time my items even came close to that is honestly after-tax returns when my kids were younger, one of the first things I did with my tax refund was go to sams club and stock up on paper products, and cleaning/laundry supplies then fill the freezer and pantry with groceries, so I knew we would be good for a while. After that was make sure the kids had clothes and shoes if needed. Still not sure my pantry would have had $1000 worth in it.
So let's all get this correct this tenets went to section 8 I can't afford to pay rent. But there a fire all of a sudden she miracle out thousand of dollars in food jewelry 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 go figure
I had a new neighbor move into our building, she automatically assumed I was on section 8 & claiming I was on state aid -my reply was : I freaking wish!!!!
Being on Section 8 don't mean her property can be stolen without consequence. He knew her stuff was in there and left the door open. Why tf would she have proof of her grocery cost? She didn't say only canned food. Marilyn treated the plaintiff very badly. I'm glad she on the way out. ➡️
Obviously youve never been a landlord. 6 months no rent....how about you go six months with no income. You might feel differently then. Money hungry witch!!!
Do NOT use flour on any kind of fire. Especially an electric fire (which is what a dryer fire with sparks is) electric fires are very dangerous and difficult to put out on your own.
It amazes me how these section 8 recipients think they're entitled to certain rights...amazing jerks. The plaintiff can't afford to pay for rent but can afford all of these high-priced items🙄
The way most dryer fires start are either by a frayed cord which would spark , so electrical, or the other big one is by not cleaning out the lint filter REGULARLY! Regardless of how it happened, I hope the tenant can eventually get back on her feet & move to a better place. I knew JM wasn’t going to award her any $ for her items without some kind of proof, but even if you have “Renters Insurance, you have to be able to prove somehow of your big ticket items that were lost”. (Otherwise, without proof, anyone can say they had anything stolen!) I would definitely keep pics of any expensive items along with pics of all receipts from those items on your phone this way you always have it in case something happens! (Tip- jewelry is very hard to get reimbursed for sometimes even with receipts & pics because so many people try to file false claims with their insurance company! Plus they never give you back what it’s actually worth even with a recent appraisal! I would keep any real jewelry that’s worth $$$ in a safety deposit box at the bank”)
Since it seems that JM was in a bit of a foul mood on this particular day, one would gave thought that she’d have said something about the fire extinguisher EMPTY in the building, (possible contributory negligence?), as well as about the fact that the landlord admitted to having left her apartment and belongings unsecured for 24 hours. Had she wanted to view the work that he’d completed, she could have simply sought him out, and requested that he open the door.
The defendant is your typical section 8 corrupt pig. They are always looking for a quick money scheme. I'm glad she didn't win. She makes every section 8 recipient look really bad. Suing for $5,000 because that's equal to the grocery and the jewelry she owned...she better be careful because the government is watching and she will get caught on her free rental ride. If you are on public assistance and you own $5,000 worth of combined groceries and jewelry, then you don't need public assistance. What you do need is a job loser.
Why didn't she simply make a claim with her contents insurance. And why is she suing him, when she already knows who the real culprit is. And if she is the cause of the fire he should be suing her. And how does such a small fire get left to turn into a huge fire, all she had to do was unplug the dryer and close the door to smother the fire, whereas she says she threw flour onto the fire, WHAT? that is highly inflammable, I think she must have made the fire 10 times worse...
She prob just grabbed the first thing she saw bag of flour tossed it on the fire. Not thinking just grabbing stuff. I once put out a fire with a newspaper. 😮😅
Lololol, section 8 and thousands of jewelry. That woman barely had food and stuff in thy apt. Glad the plaintiff got nothing! Just trying to scam people as she goes along
Of course section 8 and red cross. She can not afford her rent and need help to stay in a motel, but could afford 1000 dollars worth of food and jewerly. Yea right. Tax payers are paying for her to live. can not stand people who take advantage of help.
She’s pretty old I mean 1000 dollars worth of jewelry isn’t a lot when you think about it. I’ve seen my mom spend that on two rings in the past two years alone. The grocery bill was a stretch but she’s had a son isn’t the average grocery bill 500 for two people or something.
"I evicted her, went in her premises when she wasn't there, and left the door open for a full day, but I wouldn't take anything". uhm... one of these don't fit, partner.
A few things that makes both the plaintiff and defendants litigants: * JM should ask if the fire extinguisher was empty when they rented the apt? * The plaintiff is lying. When the Red Cross finds a place for someone to live, they pay for everything. * The defendant was being honest. He was just not a smart landlord. * It amazes me how someone living on section 8 can buy $ 1,000 worth of grocery and thousands of dollars in jewelry (completely laughable)
Why is it that I keep seeing all of these cases with section 8 tenants that have 1000's of dollars worth of jewelry, expensive clothes, brand new I phones, video game systems, $1000 worth of food etc. being sued for? If you've got so much expendable income that you can afford all of that stuff then you probably don't need to be on section 8. Either they need to tighten up their qualifications or something shady is going on. 🤔 It makes me trust them less and less every time I see them on the show.

Flour + air + flame/ spark/ ignition source = explosion. Never use flour to put out a fire.
=SCAM!!!
@@WarGrowlmon18 ?
@@darksaber230 I think the tenant was running a scam. As you pointed out, that's just idiotic unless it's done ON PURPOSE
@@WarGrowlmon18 you can easily find videos showing how explosive flour can be when it is thrown in the air, in fact you can find old news articles of factories that use or make flour exploding from the flour getting into the air and something igniting it.
@@WarGrowlmon18 oh, I thought you were saying what I was saying was a scam. Lol. She probably was not cleaning the out the lint trap. She definitely wanted to burn the place down.
They need to do away with section 8. These people live better than those people that work
Doug stays messy 😂
Ole girl's math is off. $1000 worth of food with food stamps is really $500 cash money.......
Whats wrong with the judge today? How is it the lady's fault that she can't move back in until the repairs are done? And the landlord admitted he still hasn't finished.
All them papers she collected at the end and none of them were evidence LMFAOAOAOAOAOAOAOA
Right 😂 people just walk in with papers as props lmao
Why does this Judge always resort to shouting!?!?
Our court system is so messed up when someone can stay in an apartment for six months and not pay a dime. These are serial squatters that move from one apartment to the next and live free.!
If you could u would too
I would never assume I could live for free.
I thought the plaintiff was barefoot for a second
idid too. 😅
Section 8 or not, she didn’t deserve this and can’t control a damn fire caused by a drier.
seems like you are color blinded.. the lady want $$$. she caused the fire ! he should be suing her ..
I work at a grocery store. I can't imagine someone having a thousand dollars worth of groceries in their home unless they're like SUPER rich.
Food stamps.
@@ButtonsCasey Not enough food stamps to get you THAT unless it's like YEARS of saved up food!!!
Lol my grandparents weren’t rich but well off and I’m pretty sure at any given point they had that much in groceries at their house.
@@LeolaGlamour Except that this lady's so poor that she needs Section 8. NO WAY does she have that kind of money!!!
@@WarGrowlmon18
You don’t necessarily need to be poor and be on section 8 if you live in a high income and high rent area. Also the average grocery bill for two people is like 500 I believe. So while I believe she’s lying about 1000 I do think it was close to 500 especially having a son.
On section 8, not paying rent. The nerve and the audacity of entitlement.
Ppl in section pay also,vi think it depends on their income
The Plaintiff is a leash to society and she wanted money from the home owner? 🤢 She looks healthy. Why my taxes are going ti oay her rent?😠🤦
liberals are running section 8. People should know that section 8 eats up a large portion of the tax base income.. up to 20% in some areas. yet, there's no money for schools and roads. Thank NY, NJ, CT, MA, RI, MD, VT, NH, DE and IL
all blue states.. all broke as well.
The landlord had no business entering the apartment without the tenant's permission. He also admitted that he left the door open and unattended.
Again, JM got this wrong.
You are right. I have no sympathy for a landlord not repairing an apartment in order to get the tenant to leave.
I know why. I'm not surprised.
Plaintiffs face was hilarious 😂
2:43 A bar. Full blown fire inside of the dryer. Tried to sell a burnt appliance but I can’t find a buyer. Had to work overtime and now I’m so tired. Tried to perjure me in court the judge said he’s a liar. 😂
She threw flour on a fire!?!? YIKES! That's like throwing gasoline on it! Flour is highly explosive!!!!!
10:30 I calculated every item in my kitchen, even the items in the refrigerator came up to $250. That's meat, cleaning supplies, and toiletry.
I need to know where she's coming up with $1000.00 because I'm doing something wrong.
she went to whole foods and got everything organic 😂
@@aznmegs OKAY! I can rock with that!
@@34stzoo , if you really did that you are out of your tiny mind lady.
I spend $500 bi-weekly. $250 os nothing
The plaintiff, ugh. No surprise with such buffoonery.
If I was that worried about my stuff I would have my butt in there getting it. And it wouldn't take 6 months to do it.
He just admitted he left the door unlocked 😂😂😂😂 he is his own worst enemy
Any credibility is lost when someone claims $1k in a pantry.
10:55 Her posture said a lot right here.
lol😅she was about to ante up
Big mama have nerve that tight white shirt 😂
1,000$ worth of can goods 😂😂😂
That’s a lot of cans😂😂
Did he actually not give her a key? JM just started screaming before he could really answer.
He should've countersued for the rent
He just wants to get out of this situation
He wouldn’t have gotten it since it’s not a livable place
So let's all get this correct this tenets went to section 8 I can't afford to pay rent. But there a fire all of a sudden she miracle out thousand of dollars in food jewelry 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 go figure
Most Section 8 recipients are secretly millionaires...
"Her Food is Missing...". Um, maybe the Woman next to her ate it. 😒👀
I had a new neighbor move into our building, she automatically assumed I was on section 8 & claiming I was on state aid -my reply was : I freaking wish!!!!
Defendant didn’t listen. She said to serve papers today and he’s talking he has an attorney on retainer to represent him in court smh
Where’s my grill chicken 😂🤣
Being on Section 8 don't mean her property can be stolen without consequence. He knew her stuff was in there and left the door open. Why tf would she have proof of her grocery cost? She didn't say only canned food. Marilyn treated the plaintiff very badly. I'm glad she on the way out. ➡️
Obviously youve never been a landlord. 6 months no rent....how about you go six months with no income. You might feel differently then. Money hungry witch!!!
And her their was caught on camera, nottt him!!!
@@annettez63 And her their, what does that mean?
it seems like the only people they give section 8 to are the most ungrateful people in society who seem to find a way to get everything for free .
@@annettez63 , Her what?
FYI renters insurance is like pennies on the dollar! Shop around to get a good rate but get it!
Do NOT use flour on any kind of fire. Especially an electric fire (which is what a dryer fire with sparks is) electric fires are very dangerous and difficult to put out on your own.
The plaintiff is full of it!
It amazes me how these section 8 recipients think they're entitled to certain rights...amazing jerks. The plaintiff can't afford to pay for rent but can afford all of these high-priced items🙄
When people use "I'm military" believe the victim 😂 ALWAYS
Wow! Can’t afford rent but has jewelry and $1000 in groceries? Not believing this!
I for real thought the plaintiff was sitting in a chair!! I didn’t see her walk in!
how many people did she have living with her to keep $1000 worth of groceries in the apartment?
Two
You can't pay the rent but you can buy jewelry
She is on Sec, 8. we are paying her rent... hence $ for Jewelry.
Section 8... People don't have $1000 dollars worth of items just laying around... They can't even pay rent...it doesn't make sense
That guy had guilty looking all over his face. I can't be only person that thinks that.
He absolutely took her stuff. That’s why he locked her out.
Lunch crew where u at
Dinner time over here in Europe 😄
🥳🥳
Tea time here in England 🇬🇧
The narration in the beginning was ridiculous 😂
She is trying to make money😂
Since it seems that JM was in a bit of a foul mood on this particular day, one would gave thought that she’d have said something about the fire extinguisher EMPTY in the building, (possible contributory negligence?), as well as about the fact that the landlord admitted to having left her apartment and belongings unsecured for 24 hours. Had she wanted to view the work that he’d completed, she could have simply sought him out, and requested that he open the door.
and if the plaintiff wanted to win her case she would have brought proof instead of just her flapping gums.
She likely did NOT have tenant's/contents insurance.
Why does she have a stack of papers?????
One can see the landlord is hurt the most by accusation of theft. Dude needs to learn his rights though. 👍🏼
Absolutely. That man did NOT steal her things.
So he gets away with this. Wow
NO - she got away with no rent, and burning the mans apartment.
She prob just grabbed the first thing she saw bag of flour tossed it on the fire. Not thinking just grabbing stuff. I once put out a fire with a newspaper. 😮😅
wait is the defendant cryin at the end lol boy stop go collect yo money and start the eviction
I mean there is this thing called food stamps.
She’s pretty old I mean 1000 dollars worth of jewelry isn’t a lot when you think about it. I’ve seen my mom spend that on two rings in the past two years alone. The grocery bill was a stretch but she’s had a son isn’t the average grocery bill 500 for two people or something.
And what if the jewellery was passed down?
I think Marilyn needs to hang up her gavel, and when that's done, I think she needs to attend anger management classes.
Typical THIEF & EVERYBODY owes ME
"I evicted her, went in her premises when she wasn't there, and left the door open for a full day, but I wouldn't take anything". uhm... one of these don't fit, partner.
now she know good n damn well..
Turtly...turtly...turtly....
So she left people and expensive jewelry in her home while she left 😏...She don't own expensive jewelry with that Salvation Army pants suit
A few things that makes both the plaintiff and defendants litigants:
* JM should ask if the fire extinguisher was empty when they rented the apt?
* The plaintiff is lying. When the Red Cross finds a place for someone to live, they pay for everything.
* The defendant was being honest. He was just not a smart landlord.
* It amazes me how someone living on section 8 can buy $ 1,000 worth of grocery and thousands of dollars in jewelry (completely laughable)
The jewelry could be gifts or stuff they have had the pantry stuff maybe 2 or 3 hundred from the food stamps she. Gets but thTs alot of canned food
@@jimmygoodrich9590she's a complete liar.
MILIAN MUST BE VERY IGNORANT OF NYS LAW OR JUST DISHONEST. SHE SAYS SHE IS A LANDLORD HERSELF.
I agree 100 %. I also will never understand why our tax dollars take care of people who are 100% capable of taking care of themselves!!! It's disgusting, and IDC who disagrees with me. If you have two eyes, ears, hands and feet take your lazy self to work and pay your own rent like the rest of us!!!😑🤷🏾♀️
There are specific landlord/tenant laws. N.Y. is specific and difficult. The landlord has to go through the legal process to evict her.
Considering the huge level of red tape you have to go through to obtain any government service/benefit, it amazes me when these types of people are approved. Isn't your SSN linked to apply for such services? And considering everything in America can be searched suing your SSN, it shouldn't be this difficult to weed the criminals out.
