Around the 1:37 mark, the reviewer says the difference between the 10E and the 13E is that the 10E is ALL satin finish. This is correct. However, at the 2:45 mark, the other reviewer says he likes the satin neck of the 10E and preferred it over a gloss lacquered neck. To me this sounded like he was saying the 13E had a gloss neck. I checked Martin's specs and both the 10E and 13E have satin finished necks. Its only the body on the 13E that has the gloss finish.
I've played a couple. They feel and sound fantastic. I just don't care for the asthenic. Shallow I know. But if I can get over that, I honestly think they are the best sounding guitar's coming out of Mexico. And Taylor and Martin offer nothing but good guitar's coming out of Mexico.
“S”, itself, refers to the silhouette edge on the body-neck l, but it is just Martin’s designation of its new and unique (2020) body size between OM and GP, and style, to its asymmetrical shape. It’s the “S”…as we will call it in the future, I’m sure.
Beautiful looking and feeling guitar. I got the privilege to play one last week, at my local Music Go Round. I really wanted to like the sound, but sadly he's right 2:57. It didn't have that "umft" you feel through your body when you pluck a solid wood Martin. Even the martin 000 kicked me in chest handsomely.
I'd love..just love, before I close my eyes...to find an acoustic-electric guitar that you didn't need a vise to finger chords and be able to play a lead. Going to see if the local store has this in stock. As to the tuner inside? is it braced? I can see by his hand movements that its a push/pull-I can see that breaking after so many gigs. Still want to put my hands on one of these.
Hello from England. I don't like the skinny rough finished frets on mine. Don't get me started on the poorly finished fret ends. First time I've tried a Martin. It's not a top end guitar, but then again, it's not a cheap guitar. At this price point the frets should be better finished. I was contemplating a refret with some bigger guage frets, but I've gone off the idea. I'll buy a new guitar.
Good review but would like to know more about the neck and cutaway and how far up it easily gives access to on the frets. Is it raised? It seems like all the descriptions I've read on it really says good things about the neck and access to upper frets. You did say it felt like an electric neck. That did answer my question about the 10 and the 13 though. That's good stuff to know. I figured the 13 was an upgrade from the 10 but saw the 13 1st so anyway I'm definitely a fan of the satin finish as opposed to the gloss. I have a Taylor AD17 and love the satin finish!
I got mine today and played a afternoon show, 1 hour of music bliss when dialed in. Thanks to the builders.
I really thought the extreme cutaway wouldn’t sound as full as it does! Great sounding guitar and great video!

I bought one 6 months ago in sapelli, love it😊

A fan of the satin finish & NECK. The Gloss neck ( on any guitar) can get sticky or muckie in warm weather when playing gigs..
Hello guys great video, what would the body size be similar to, a 00 or 000?
The SC body shape is similar to a 000 size.
who needs facts?
love you guys ✌️
Tell me what would be better to take Taylor 214 CE or Martin sc-10? where will the sound be better?
I compared them. Taylor sounds better. Martin gives better access to higher frets. I’m going to buy both.

Try the sapele version. Played one today and loved it.
When u say koa veneer, that means not solid wood , but instead layers glued together, right?
Yes.
I can tell you have all the intention.
It has mahogany underneath the Koa veneer
3 layers: koa, mahogany, koa

Spruce-Cutaway?

Looks different!

sounds sweet
10e = e = for electric/electronics with the pickup and tuner
:O
Maybe stands for Spruce
I have heard that the offset body is an 'S' shape, but who really knows?
Sound Like Taylor ???
No. It sounds like a slightly quieter, less bassey Martin.
The S stands for "S" shape
it is lighter than HD-28 by about 1.5 lbs which over the time of show makes a difference.....
S stands for "sick"
I just don’t like cutaways on Martins. But I don’t like cutaways as much as I used to, period.
looks like lik e talyor 214 ce and 114 ce
except those are 10 times better
Except it sounds like a real guitar instead of a toy.
I’m seeing a lot of these being traded in.
I’m sorry, they just sound tinny to me; the best at price point are the 000-15
they suck
🎸
Sounds super thin with little sustain, just what you'd expect on a laminate..
its awful U have to play these in person..thin and wimpy...plugged in just a little better
they cant sell these lol
Stupid tuner buzzes. What the hell martin??
No it doesn't
