Abhijit is absolutely right about not being a superpower. Hum khud ka dekh lete. We can become high income economy with huge GDP with a military that can defend itself but no need to create NATO like alliances

Ambekar could have chosen Arya samaj which is a casteless Panth of Hindu fold, but he did not choose it.
and he chose Buddhism, which actually believes in birth-based caste system.
whereas Bhagwan shri Krishna clearly mentions in B.G.-4.13 and B.G.-18.41 THAN VARNA IS BASED ON GUNA AND KARMA NOT ON BIRTH.
arya samaj was not good for hindu soceity. it made idolatory taboo and blatantly rejected any historicity of hindu scriptures. if india had adopted arya samaj, we would be easily defeated by abrahmics.
the best option was and is Hindutva of savarkar. it neither denigrated dalits nor wanted to punish non dalits. instead of equally oppresion non dalits, it aimed to uplift dalits to a stage equal to brahmins. although hindutva too had some issues with [economic policies and beef], it was by far the best option.

not a Panth ,well glorious Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Sampradaya ,also does not consider varna by birth, and now modernly known as iskon, and this sampradaya is very old and there were many options to choose.

i agree that there were many casteless school of hinduism including arya samaj, but most of them didnt consider hindu due to fear of harrasment by british and the blame of casteism which curbs any development. so if you had joined any of these, you became vaishnava rather than a hindu. my lingayath community too wanted to deviate from hinduism to form new religion which "fought caste system" and push away the blame[basically demonise brahmin and put all blame on them and wash our own hands of the eternal sin]
i mean, the panths were scattered and offered no defence to propoganda. and if you had defence, you were silenced and villified along with brahmins with fake propaganda.
only hindutva stood tall and put forth an idea of political hindu, taking all the blame and responsibility. so as far as i know, hindutva was the only solution.
even today, the very imagination of appointing a eligible brahmin as an authority over dalit causes riots, imagine the weather during 1920s

He has a surface level knowledge of many topics and tries to pass off as an expert. Always remember the real expert spend their whole life trying to learn and master one subject. Abhijit Iyer Mitra should read more about Netaji and then comment on him. He was very clear about how he envisioned India economically, politically and socially, post independence. Netaji was pro mass industrialization of India whereas Gandhiji wanted cottage industrial development. Abhijit hasn't read enough on Netaji. He should do so and then comment on him.
He is related to Netaji ( great grand nephew or something ). He has talked about it on some other podcast.
His industrialization would have been on the lines of USSR. He would've shoved down extreme socialist, leftist and anti Hindu ideas down our throats.

What AIM said about Netaji is not right..
I love AIM but he might just be wrong on Aryan Invasion theory because it has been proven scientifically by genetic studies that DNA of the whole sub continent is more or less the same. For details, read the research by Dr. Niraj Rai.

High income country doesn't equate as superpower. Even Singapore, Qatar etc are very high per capita income countries but they are not superpower. The only superpower in realistic sense that exists is USA and no one.
