Northeastern Florida Kiteboarding Locations- 520 Slick, Cocoa Beach

One of our absolute favorite places for a kiteboarding session in the Northeastern region of Florida, is the 520 slick in Cocoa Beach. This area offers a gigantic area of beautiful, smooth and shallow water. The launch is a little different, requiring a drift launch or assistance from another person in the water, but it is absolutely an amazing place to ride! Check out this video for some tips to keep this place enjoyable for all, as well as some clips from our heavy wind day out on the water. We had 35-43 mph wind for these clips!

nice video. so if kiting in offshore winds there ( no no) where are the bailouts downwind? I kited here before covid and was torn up by the brevard mosquitoes.

I would recommend the Good Breeze guys there in Cocoa Beach if you're looking for lessons in the area. I had some lessons from them back in 2020. I couldn't even water start at first, but got past that with their fine help. We kited at the slick a couple times, but rode out on the ski. I live on the west coast, but would definitely visit the Cocoa Beach area in the future. Down winders on the beach side are awesome too. As a side benefit, you can see the space launches from Cape Canaveral.
