A nice new intro Roy, I thought it was an advert at first 😁. It’s a shame we will be working the day you pass through our area, we are not far away from Blyth in Northumberland, it would have been great to cycle with you two for a while.Still, if you need any local advice, emergency repairs and so on, we can help. Have a great trip, the weather is looking a little better for you.
re: getting a touch apprehensive about the north-south adventure. 4:50~ funnily enough, on my (very short) ride yesterday, I was thinking about you two, and the 'task' you're about to undertake..... and thus thinking how impressive it is that you are both challengig yourselves, more and more, and in various ways.... keeps yer young innit! whatever the outcome, you win!
Nice intro Roy another excellent video ✔️ good luck with your adventure just returned from a month in Scotland our last stop was just outside North Berwick did a bit on the John Muir Way. Looking forward to watching your videos from the trip.
Good luck with your ride, I did a 5 day 60 ish mile each day ride last October and it was fine. I had only done a ride of 55 miles on a weekend as my max distance before that but I did ride on Zwift as well during the week. I had no issues at all. Not sure I would have fancied that 90 mile last day you have planned though so chapeau for that 😁

Best of luck with your trip both of you, hope the weather stays kind. Well done with your Audax too. If you fancy a Wolds ride one day you’re very welcome to join Tim & I 🚴♂️🚴♀️
A-ha!! I KNEW it! I knew you would eventually get one of those Hover 1 drones. Good job. I hope it works well for you. I'll be very interested in your review of it as well as of the riding gloves. I've gone thru two pairs of gloves in two years of riding. They seem to lose all the padding very quickly or rather the padding gets compressed into uselessness a lot sooner than I would like. The welcome sign at the church that Wendy read was, I thought, very clever and even a bit touching. Such acceptance seems in short supply these days. The plan for a bike maintenance Q&A should be useful for a lot of people. I might even pick up some ideas I can use for my trike. In my younger days I was quite mechanically inclined and enjoyed working on my bike. Not surprisingly, the years have taken their toll, making it less enjoyable. At least I can still keep the chain clean and lubed. 😊 For some reason this video has a different 'feel' to it. I can't quite put my finger on it: maybe less ambient sound and/or better resolution -- but something seemed different. 🤔 Good different. 👍 Terry (sorry, Q) deserves a gold star for his hack. ⭐️. Good job, Terry. 👏 Have a great trip.
Thank you, Linda. We were using new mics so that may have changed the sound. For the first part, my mic had noise cancelling set (unwittingly) which cut out the ambient sound, so well spotted!
I can understand your trepidation about doing long rides each day but if you take plenty of breaks to admire the views I think it will help. Remember you're on holiday! I'm guessing that your usual average speed must be around 15 mph normally, you may want to ease off to help your legs. Have you weighed your loaded bikes? Is the plan to put out one longer video of the ride or break it up into days? That bell rope hanging there was a temptation too far. I liked the way Wendy ran for it when you rang it.😀 Thanks for the video, it looked like perfect cycling weather.
Thanks Colin. 15 mph - I wish 😀 Usually about 12 mph as we can't resist stopping to look. I plan to make one video per day, but will amalgamate if they are in danger of becoming boring.
Hey Wendy and Roy, looking forward to the challenge, good luck. We found the Hover X1 completely useless on the bikes. Great for stationary and walking though... 👍
Thank you both. The X1 has had a firmware update that includes the dolly track function that I was using, so might be worth giving it another try. We came under a long tunnel today and Wendy was channeling Julie😀 I hope I don't get a copyright strike! Special best wishes to Julie
Really keen on the hover x1. I have a mini 3 pro, but as you know, its not easy using it whilst riding. I hope the hover x1 drops in a price a bit though, its pretty pricey at the moment with some extra batteries. Good luck for your trip, cant wait to see the video(s)
I haven't managed to secure a discount yet but I'll keep trying. The camera isn't great but hopefully they will improve it, although it's good enough, and as you say, with none of the time consuming set up of the DJI.
hey roy just want to know when the video with my mum is coming out she was cylcing with a 5 year old on the back at casthorpe hill i mean it seems hilarious
Ah, that was your mum was it, Dan 😀 It’s at the end of this one th-cam.com/video/cbqkQChcH_A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IXGpJ4G1adg-DA5i Unfortunately the mic didn’t pick up your mum speaking so I couldn’t include all of it. I just completed a 7 day ride from Edinburgh to Barrowby with 100 miles final leg yesterday.. and I can tell you, I DIDN’T include Casthorpe Hill at the end 😀

I reckon a submission of the bucket hack to the GCN show's "Hack or Bodge" section is required ! Good luck and enjoy your trip....
