- For this Sunday’s update, we have the 2022 Kia K9 Review! So, yes, this 2022 Kia K9 is the facelift of the 2nd generation. I know you guys in the US and in N. America, you only got it up to the 2nd generation Kia K9, due to low numbers of sales in N. America. But Kia has rolled out this facelift of the generation here in Korea. Although this is a facelift model, the 2022 Kia K9 or AKA K900 in N. America, has many changes from inside and out. So, yes, this 2022 Kia K9 is the best sedan from Kia that the USA never got! I really hope you guys get the Kia K900 soon again in N. America and now let me show you how this new Kia K9 shines at night.

love the night reviews, it brings out the ambient lighting for us too see. Amazing to see how South Korea car companies like Hyundai and Kia have significantly surpassed many car companies from visual aesthetics of beauty and excellent interior quality and of course how safe they are to drive. Keep up the great work!

We haven’t had the K900 in USA since 2020 model. Heard it was discontinued. Glad to see it might be coming back.

I wish it was coming to the US. It looks worth buying.
Probably never again. It was discontinued a couple of years back, along with all the large sedans from Hyundai/Kia in favor of the Genesis models. The sales figures were dismal. Even though they look amazing and are a lot better than many rivals (more car for the money), people just weren't buying them. They couldn't wrap their heads around spending $50-70k for a Hyundai or Kia.
Hyundai Azera (Grandeur) and Kia Cadenza (K8) are gone. G80 is here.
Kia K900 (K9) is gone. G90 is here instead.
I would actually much prefer the Grandeur or K8 over the G80, but we'll never get that option anymore. However, I do prefer the G90 over the K9.

Love the K9! But for the same money, I think I'd prefer the G80! It's a bit more stylish, more dynamic and has the superior engine.
Yeah John. Genesis G80 certainly will appeal to more younger buyers, looking for more stylish car. But this Kia K9 just feels so much more spacious compared to the Genesis G90. And it's got all the features you ever need. Thanks John.

Interior and the driving features seems to be way better than the last gen G90. I heard that after discontinuing the cadenza in NA around 3 years ago, there were plans to introduce the new K8 HEV version to NA but it was disregarded due to the chip shortage and focus towards the more expensive Genesis sedans and more focus on the Telluride and Sorentos for NA

It’s too bad we no longer get this k900 in the US. Test drove the 2nd gen when it came out and I loved it as the ultimate isolation / relaxation car, esp for the price. But 3 yrs later, I think ev is the way to go for for a relaxed, quiet ride. I’m waiting to receive my Ioniq 5 instead.

Very nice. I would take this over the 2023 G90 that just came out. This K9 looks better than the new G90, IMO. I wish I could fly to South Korea, buy a K9, and ship it back to USA!! Then I would have to get a couple of things modified to make it street legal. But I was told at a Kia dealer, that would void any warranty! :( Still might be worth it!!

A great car that didn't need a facelift and which looks even better now...Too bad Kia didn't advertise it or even show it on their website for North America. It looks like a great mix of the Genesis G80 and G90 with modern lights

Thanks Charlie, great news for the Koreans to head up the auto sales there, you deserve it. I agree that the G80 looks better. Beautiful interior hear though, cars are lighting up like Christmas trees now inside !! The reversing lights seemed too small, do they do a good job though Charlie, sometimes over looked by some manufacturers , not throwing enough light down the road.

Any idea why this doesn't have the Lexicon sound system? It looks like a mix between the 2017 G90 platform/interior mixed with the 2021 G80 screen, massage and software so I don't get why they would change the sound system just in this one.

No K9s here in the US, I think the top sized sedan is the Stinger after the K5.

This is a real car in the United States in fact the Kia dealer in my network of dealerships only had one vacay 900 a rare car since it was only sold here until 2020 I think it’s a great alternative to the S-class.
Press the Kia dealership that was on the network of dealerships I worked for in 2019 only had one in stock for about six months and a lot of people that went for a German cars didn’t know about the Koreans making Marjorie vehicles and how impressive they are

Not V8 but K8..which was the Cadenza here in North America I believe.
@@southkiddJ Yes, we do have a K8! But it's not the Cadenza. The Cadenza was the K7, which was a slightly smaller car than the K8. They've discontinued the K7 here as well.

@@pixelking_871 no, the Cadenza was discontinued for the US market just last year. The replacement K8 will likely not be coming either.
They discontinued the Cadenza (K7). Instead, they stretched the chassis a little and gave it a thorough makeover, including awd, and now they call it K8.
Unlike the Kias LeBron does commercials for he might actually fit in this one

LeBron was in the K9(00) in those Kia commercials. I don't think the K9 got all that much roomier in the second generation or this facelift. They don't sell the K900 in the US anymore, so LeBron is endorsing Hummer now...

@@AsianPetrolhead I purchased a brand new 2004 Kia Amanti in 2006!! a left over that no one wanted, gave me great service for 10 years then bought a 2016 K900! LOVE MY KIA! KIA FROM KOREA TO THE WORLD!
KN should cancel this and keep the Stinger. May be Korean need this for their limo market but Stinger is a better WORLD model than this K9.
