Just want to say that I am so, so, so thankful your videos are captioned. I am total deaf and have been watching and learning. My mother is not always available due to medical issues.
You are so welcome! Transcribing the videos by hand is a tedious task, so I'm glad you're appreciating them! I promise to continue to make the closed captioning perfect every video!
Thank you so much! A friend recommended your videos specifically and they have been life savers as I teach myself to knit. You're clear, concise, to the point, and somehow still very thorough! I've learned so much from you. Thank you!
Hi Fares - thank you for the note. If you're working with a yarn that isn't very "sticky", like 100% wool, you might need to secure the ends a bit more. You can watch my video called "Knitting Help - Weaving in Cotton Ends". Even if you're not using cotton, the technique I show in that video will show you how to make the ends extra-secure.
It depends on the acrylic - most synthetic yarns do not block as well as wool or wool blend yarns. "Blocking" acrylic yarns usually means machine washing and drying. The ends you weave in aren't usually as secure as wool or wool blends, but again that depends on the specific yarn. I recommend really securing the ends of anything that will be machine washed and dried - for more info, see my video called "Knitting Help - Weaving in Cotton Ends", which shows the technique.
Denise - yes, you will weave in all the ends the same, whether they're the cast-on/bind-off ends, or somewhere else in your work. I have several different videos on weaving ends into different knit fabrics. You can find those by searching my channel page for "weaving in ends", or by clicking the "weaving in ends" category on my website.
Funny you should request that. :) I'm working on the schedule for the next shoot, and "Weaving in Ends in Garter Stitch" is on the list. I'll also be doing one on seed stitch. Thanks for the suggestion! Keep 'em coming!
Thank you for your awesome video! I am doing a 1x1 ribbing blanket (I know not the norm for a blanket) but, it's turning out nicely. Five color changes in large and small striping, so many ends to weave. This is so easy and actually kind of fun to do. Also, excellent with being hardly noticable.
Thank you for your help. It was very understandable and quite easy. I’ve taught myself to knit but was not putting the correct ending touches to my knitting projects. Yikes 😳💐💐☺️
Thank you!! I used this and your seed stitch weave in to finish a sweater I was making that had a 1x1 turtleneck. So simple!! And here I was stressing over about the weave ins
Thanks for showing us this technique. It is so simple. I can now stop using the technique that I was taught 40 years ago; the slide two up, two side left , back down two, side to the right...etc
I do this but it still seems to unravel a bit and is visible. Is there something to remedy that? Or should I just use some stitch glue to keep it in its final place after snipping the remaining tail?
thanks for showing us this technique!! you explained really well :) would also like to know how to weave in ends on just knit stitch were there is no stockinet please. thankyou
Thanks for your help with weaving in the ends. I'm wondering if I will use this same technique with my loose ends that I have from adding new colors in the middle of my project? Please let me know. Thanks again. Denise
Heya! :) I'm not sure why, but every time I weave in my ends like this, the ends always seem to unravel, especially if it's a scarf that I've been stretching a lot. I've made sure there's good tension on my weaved in ends, so they're not too tight or anything like that. Do you have any advice maybe? Thanks! - Fares PS Keep making videos, you're awesome! :D

"Naturally I left my scissors in the other room" - i totally felt that. Thank you so much for your amazing videos!
Thank you so much for all your weaving in the ends videos, they've been an absolute life saver!
Thank you so much! I have been knitting for over 60 years and my ends always come undone. Hurray! Never more!

Thank you for this! You're always my first port of call for little tips and tricks like this.

Watching this technique just blew me away! 🙏🏻

Can I add to the chorus: You are an amazing teacher filled with knowledge! And making me a better knitter! 😄

Just weaved in ends on the main body of the sweater - using one of your videos - and now I can weave in the ends on the cuffs too! Thank you.

That is fantastic and I often use a rip stitch but now I know how to finish it off real neat.
Thanks so much and happy knitting,
Yoka
That worked so well that when I accidentally did it on the right side instead of the wrong side I had terrible trouble finding the yarn! Thank you.
Excited that I was already doing it like a pro! Love your videos all the same, and you watch ring is awesome!!

Ingenious! Really elegant, as Steven said.
Wow! Simple Indeed!!! Thank you so much. Just used it on my project.

PS Keep making videos, you're awesome! :D
HOLY COW!.. THAT'S HOW EASY IT IS?!
Thanks for the video! Helped with my Christmas hats
Thank you! Exactly what I needed to know for my first scarf 😊
Thank you! This is very helpful for beginners like me
i just found this vid and realized i have been doing it so far, glad there is a vid to, thanks stacy
Thanks - finishing is the part I hate - this make it a lot easier - I will look for more videos by you!
if you have acrylic yarn would you use this method or the cotton method you mentioned?
I purposely leave a long tail to use to sew the garment up the side seam.
All right, thanks a lot! I'll give it a try.
You don't tie a knot of after you weave it in? What if it unravels or the piece of the tail sticks out?
Super handy, thank you
Brilliant thank you.
This was soooooo much help! Thank you!
Thank you for yet another great useful tutorial!!! (Isn’t that what we all do...leave the scissors in the other room!😖) 🙂
Thanks for this tip. I also see you are wearing the ombre dyed sweater! Very nice :D
Easy peasy!
Brilliant! Thank you so much!!
I love your ring watch!
Perfecto! Just the finish I need for my boyfriend's scarf...
Does this also work with 1x1 rib stitch?
Great clear video thank you for sharing
Gorgeous jacket!
This is helpful. Thanks!
Thank you for this video! Prior to viewing this, I just kind of made up my own technique, which was an epic fail!
thank you for sharing.
LOVE it!
Thanks Staci.
Brilliant!
Brilliant - thank you!!!
How long of a tail should I weave in? 😊
Depends on how "sticky" your yarn is. A couple of inches is good for most wool yarns, longer for less sticky yarns.
Thank you so much! :-) I love your channel and your videos. 💗
thank you :)
Thank you for this video and all the others you do...will use this weave in !!
