You can use the KAL to reverse- overclock (?) the fuel drain valve. Basically make the drain valve value to -95.00, and it will actually put fuel back IN. This is basically a more efficient way of having infinite fuel because of part size and saving weight. There’s already plenty of tutorials on this if you’re interested.
@@lassefiedler3542 more like saving part size. But actual Cg placement and thrust angle is super important on these craft because of how crazy the acceleration is. Your margin for error can be very small between accelerating at 800gs and spinning out and breaking apart in less then a second
Am I missing something? The most recent update I can find for Restock is from November 2024 on SpaceDock (the forum page shows last update as August 2024)
My favorite thing was to use this with ion engines and be accelerating at several thousand gs. By the time you would get past the mun (after less then a minute) you would already be at a size able chunk of the speed of light. Watching kerbin get smaller and smaller as if you were doing time warp visibly was just so surreal!
28:34 You’re probably referring to “sword flying” in Halo 2: If you aimed at an enemy, switched to your sword, and pulled the “trigger”, you could send yourself flying across the map at ridiculous speeds for fun and profit! The timing is pretty hard to nail down, but it’s super fun once you get the hang of it!
I think how it works is that any targets within range of your weapon would highlight the reticule red to let you know you were aiming at them (and aim-assist would kick in) and within range. With the Energy Sword, there was a limited range in which if you were highlighting the enemy, pulling the trigger would perform a lunge attack but for a *very* split second when you switched from a scoped weapon like the Battle Rifle or Sniper Rifle to the Energy Sword, the game still considered you to be "in range" to perform it.
my favourite part of this is that it's just like you're flying as if you were in Elite Dangerous or a similar space game, just flying directly to a planet in mere days then ascending straight to back orbit in moments because your thrust is just that high, it really puts the difference between normal KSP flights and those game into perspective!
You could call this some form of hyper-advanced atmosphere scooping ISRU engine. Something with electrolysis scooping the water vapor from Kerbin, a reverse Sabatier reaction scooping the CO2 from Eve, and then some equipment to scoop up solar wind or the interplanetary medium for the transfers.
16:40 i think that is because technically speaking the node on the command module is connected to the cargo bay, and the crew cabin is then connected to the node of the cargo bay, instead of directly to the command module

i just started a career playthrough where ill be using these drives to explore the kerbol system! right now in the very early stages of career mode, so i dont have the KAL controller yet, but s o o n
When raising the little circle in the KAL controller, you don't have to raise it all the way maxed out. You can raise it to whatever you want and then also use the time slider to be even more precise with the thrust. You could have 150% or 1000%. Edit: Also, this could be adjusted in flight if you wanted more or less thrust for whatever application.
As an Englishman you should know better than anyone else that VTOL's are a thing. If you were using this exploit already, adding VTOL engines would be trivial.
The KAL-1000 exploit! Or as I like to call it, the KSP Infinite Improbability Drive! Thanks Matt, I'd forgotten about this one! I've only ever played with it in sandbox mode, so very little. Not sure if you did that before. But one SSTO i always tried to make (and kinda failed) Is one with Ore processing and drills, just to refuel and possibly refuel other ships. Would be neat to see either...a very Light economic version of one OR a very heavy big fuel tanker, i personally am just too impatience to make it work neatly.
Doing a Duna SSTO would be fun. For me personally, because landing a spaceplane on Duna is such a pain in the ass, what I liked to do for a fully recovered Duna mission is to use a Mk. 3 hull and just put a lander in the back.
This is basically what would happen if Honda during its peak VTEC days built a spaceship, with the help of the power of anime, God, the nearly indomitable human spirit, and the relatively easily exploitable KSP physics engine.
Matt, a suggestion for a blunderbird video: two kerbalnauts have been stuck in LKO for 80 days, as a defective capsule and poor engineering forces them to abort their return journey. Save them before they perish!
