We live in the UK and our dear old kelpie Zak died last year aged 9, he was identical to this kelpie, Bailey. We've had 8 dogs in all over the last 35 years, all of them rescue dogs. Zak was an amazing dog in so many ways, so fast, so agile, so friendly to all humans and other dogs. His ability to be taught new things to do was way above any other dogs we've ever taken in. Watching Bailey is like watching our old boy Zak, dear old Zak was so obedient so patient, never known a dog like him. We took him home from the RSPCA 9 years ago, he bonded immediately with our current dog at that time and with us, we have photos of him on the first days with us a couple of days before xmas, you would think he'd been with us for years!!! We didn't know he was a kelpie for the first 4 or 5 months, the RSPCA told us he was just a mongrel, then we met a young lady with another dog just like our Zak, "your dog's a kelpie like mine" she said, we had never heard of the breed. We looked up kelpies as soon as we got home, yup he was definitely a kelpie, looked like one, had all the characteristics listed as kelpie traits. One day he just had trouble getting up off of the floor late on in the morning, by early evening he had died. We have never been so upset at losing a dog, it was such a sad day for us. I just keep looking up kelpies on the internet, can't stop myself!! Best breed of dog I've ever known.
The best allround athlete in the dog world. Yes plenty are quicker and faster but the Kelpie will leave them all behind at the 30 mile mark, have a quick drink and double that ! Yes some will out jump them , a light middleweight can only do so much but a top 5 would be a reasonable guess. Only the Huskies challenge for endurance but the weather dictates such ! Turn up the heat and the Kelpie is on its own. Yes Poodles, Boarders and Jacks can win the intellectual battle but can't hope to win the enthusiasm and need to be challenged trait of the world best stock working dog . Not for the couch potato and probably best if children are of a dog knowledgeable age but their hardiness and ailment resilience plus pack ( family) loyalty make them a great choice for a mobile family and the ultimate mate for the keen mountain biker, jogger or tramping camper ! Love em !😎👍
Hi Christine! I'd love to try and use this video in a documentary we're making about kelpies! Please contact me at kokopictures@gmail.com, asap! Cheers, Lauren
Jack Burtons Game Bred Mutant pugs and Wolf Hybrids, what you’re talking about is a different event. That pit bull doesn’t climb over the wall, and the wall it’s climbing has rubber matting on it to get traction, and it jumps up to grab a lure. Apples and oranges much?

Beautiful dogs, and I love the way they are always smiling and tail wagging, true blue Aussie characters.
Did anybody mention that Bailey won all 3 events: the high jump, the dash and the hillclimb. What a dog.

Awesome job but there's a female pitbull on TH-cam that jumps way higher than that so I don't know how that's a record
It's a new record for the Kelpie muster
On a scramble jump, no lure?
Another Phenomenal jumper is the Belgian Malinois.
