Don't hamerdrill with a circular grinder, it kills the grinder but you probably found that out by now.

Better job than I have seen in some new builds, not sure how the excess ducting would hold up against the ever increasingly stringent flow rates as flexi tends to create a lot of turbulance even in small lengths. but from what I can see it would Get a lot better results than a few recent jobs I have tested. you wont believe how many get away with excess ducting of up to and exceeding 1 ft.

Hi by all means use silicone to seal the outside but the screws and plugs on the outlet plate wouldn't cost much more to fit🤑🤑 i would have fitted at least two as a minimum ...

Flexible and plastic would NEVER fly in my area.. collects debris over time, fire hazard and probably noisy as can be

A lot of silicone, i recommend actual 4" duck work and also plastic anchors to secure outside cove incase you need access later, all in all good info

How did you know where to drill on the outside wall so that it lined up with the correct location on the inside wall? Did you drill a long pilot hole?

Yes I found the right angle from inside n drilled a hole with long drill bit n that was my center point.

Yes the extractor hood has a one way shutter which shuts down one the fan in not blowing steam out.

Too much silicone. If that extractor fan packs up think of the headache the next engineer will have removing it.

The reducer (2:50) just pops off the extractor and can be then fitted on new fan easily. But id personally change the ducting aswell if fitting new fan as over time it would get full off grease etc.. 👍

U can make a box alone side the wall and the ceiling to accommodate the aluminium 150mm flexible pipe.

I have just this done by someone and I think the duct is small. What happened if a small one is fitted?

For the kitchen extractor fan or hood the duct has to be 150mm or bigger.

Hi. The socket was already there and the silicone was bought from toolstation.
