Hey man good question according to the VW Manual it’s recommended to change every 3,000-5,000 miles. With that being said In my OPINION changing it every oil change especially on a newer engine. New engines are just getting broken into clearance are tight and most wear is coming from your initial 10000 miles. If your filter ever gets clogged you won’t get sufficient oil pressure to the motor which could cause a whole slew of issues. 👍🏽 hope that helps.
