  • ‪@hballantyne0‬ My great, great grandfather James Moore was a Castlecat stonemason near Bushmills. His children became coachmen, shoemakers, ploughmen and farmers. One married a grocer and their son was a soldier. Some worked on the Ballyhivistock and Ballylough Estates, so I have included some interesting stories about them as well. Castlecat is a small village near Bushmills. My grandfather who eventually emigrated to NZ, lived close to Castlecat. Have a look at the rest of this series: Pt 1 How my ancestors became Ulster Scots, Pt 2 What life was like for the Ulster Scots, Pt3 James Moore, stonemason, Pt4, James Moore's children, some interesting facts about them and their employers: Ballyhivistock & Ballylough estates. I make these family history vidoes for my grandchildren - they are my 'book' in a digital form.
