    I picked one up the same color. I'm lets just say old enough to be your father, but relinquished my jean shorts, Nikes and visor long ago. I was going to wait for the plaid bodied version, but was informed by Traxxas that it wasn't on their radar.

    I have the 4tec 2.0 and I can tell you it’s built like a tank. One of my favorite platforms. Really want this one too 👍

    I like the body mounting system. More specifically, it addresses the issue of the bumper/front body support. I like where this 4Tec, the XO, and the ARRMA 1/7 scale on-road cars all integrate the polycarbonate body with some sort of separate molded bumper and floor pan-makes the bodies last much longer and actually makes you want to actually drive them without worry.

    The sunlight was perfect. I loved seeing the smooth shock absorption. Great filming.

    Picked up mine...a blue one...and, I'll admit, I never ran it on the stock brushed electronics. Literally, I had my tools, and a spare VXL-3S system, laid out on my workspace before I even opened the box. Heck, I didn't even remove any of that plastic wrap covering the body until the electronics were swapped.
    All far, I've tested the stock pinion on 2S, maxing out at 22mph. Next up (in order) will be the stock pinion on 3S, followed by the included "speed" pinion on 2S, and finally the "speed" pinion on 3S. Only once 2S & 3S testing is completed using the two included pinions will I decide what Castle motor to install (along with a Copperhead 10 ESC), and what Robinson Racing pinion to install.

      I cant wait to get mine. Im going to run the stock electronics on mine for a bit, at least until they die which i doubt would take long with a lot of parking lot running on the speed gear but then i will go straighf for my brushless setup. Kind of want to see what the brushed can do before i make it fly

    I just saw the red one at one of the local RC stores it looks amazing. Specially the rear bucket lights. It has so many buckets (6 I believe) to fill in reverse, break and blinkers. Looking forward to possibly get a blue one and all leds including a glow light in the engine bay. Agree on the 12t motor gear noise but the fun in a parking lot makes all good. 🇨🇱👍

    I've never been a Vett/on road guy but after watching your review this car looks interesting. Will give it some strong consideration going forward.

    The one thing that discourages me, is that the body and wheels/tires are a proprietary size. If you need new tires or body, you need to buy from Traxxas. The price seems decent. And if I had anywhere to run on road cars, I might be tempted to buy one.

  • @ShutterwolfVideos

    Absolutely fantastic video as always. Love the cinematic driving clips you did an amazing job. Would love to see a parking lot bash session with this car. Lets see that air you got haha.

  • @smallfact0ry

    Great video Matt. Looks like great car, and durable. These on road cars are a blast, because with a switch of tires, you can do so much with them. I switch between tamiya rally blocks, soft rubber hard plastic and hard rubber on my MST platform. I just checked the dimensions on the traxxas website: it looks like you could drop a Hilux body on this chassis and it should be a perfect fit.

    Got the Snap-on edition in trade for a crawler. Can't wait for Traxxas to release the bodies so I can run it complete. (Snap-On Body is still wrapped). This version came WITH the light kit. Looks very cool lit up... Also they included a NiMh battery and charger... All in all, I really like the 4tec platform...

But I am always going to be a true fan of scale and crawling plus that car is way to new of a car I haven't even seen one 1 to 1 yet. Slow and rusty is all I need and I am 48. LOL..

  • @toddbertram6556
    @toddbertram6556 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the chassis is a good build and design. The corvette body in my opinion is a huge whiff. So many better bodies they could have licensed. The vet falls into the Rubicon category, not a ton of thought put into it. The f40 was a good one on there 2.0 they really could have picked something rare and unique but it's traxxas. That said, the least important thing is the body so still a good rig.

  • @OswaldBeef
    @OswaldBeef 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Those larger wheels change the FDR so much from the 2.0 speed limits. I bet the Vxl version in a year will be incredible. Question : does the steering system have bushings or bearings inside?

  • @BlindGuyRc

    Very awesome review and peak into the the car. Not sure I really want one... id rather get a slash. I can bash on road and dirt hahahahahaha. But traxxas has knocked it out of the park again on the body.

    I’m looking for an on road car that I can speed bash with like the all road vehicles from arrma. But right now the infraction and felony are out of my budget point right now. I would get a rally car or use a brushless motor combo to put in my future 4tec 3.0 and bash and race it around in a parking lot. Thoughts, Questions, Concerns?
