Steven Universe is now over 10 years old! Can you believe it, a decade of believing in Steven already - time is slipping through our delicate fingers at an alarming rate and there’s nothing we can do about it. So cool, I definitely won’t have an existential crisis later. No matter what anyone says I’ll always have a soft spot for Steven Universe, the show undoubtedly changed my life in ways I could never imagine and I’m really grateful for that. But lemme cut to the chase - the title’s not clickbait, Rebecca Sugar wants to bring back Steven Universe and she needs YOUR help! They’ve recently returned back to the public eye in recent months with a TikTok account where they share a behind the scenes look at not just Steven Universe but also their work on Adventure Time, they dropped a new EP titled Spiral Bound that’s 13 minutes full of BANGERS but in like, a cozy coffee shop way, y’know? And the cherry on top, she had an interview with Michaela Zee at Variety centered around the 10th anniversary of the series where she makes it abundantly clear that it’s time for us to return to Beach City.

I can’t believe that this show, that this fandom, has been around for a whole decade. I honestly think it deserves it with all the fan content that is online. There is so much fanmade content that I personally believe has the potential of being official. Although, there are some things in the canon that I definitely would change, mostly certain character designs and:or names.
People give the SU fandom shit for being super obnoxious (and in some cases extremely toxic), but the MAJORITY of the fandom is super nice and insanely talented for the most part.

This show was my comfort. I even watched it and the movie during my entire 46 hour labor with my daughter. Her middle name is Rose because of this show. Had she been a boy, her name would have been Steven. I met his voice actor a few years ago and I cried... he was so sweet.

I was really hoping for a prequel series fleshing out Pink/Rose more, plus seeing more bismuth and other gems back during the war would be soo cool! Pearl learning how to fight, earth exploration, more diamonds!

I want say something, we are trashing that black diamond garbage, I got many ideas for black diamond. This might be under orthodox, could it be where a diamond change to actually look like an organic like a human or other alien organic being. Though her real from is not going to look like garo. Bismuth becomes best friends with her, and thinks it is a human.

I found a deep connection with Blue Diamond that made me a life long lover of the series. I had lost two amazing people to me. To hear her lines like” I’m surprised a human could understand how I feel” and “ you have no idea what thousands of year of suffering has done to me”.
I hope they give Rebecca full creative control if they do a spinoff/revival (and finally explore the origins of gem kind). Another personal hope is introducing actual sneaple (maybe as the creators of the Diamonds) and a race of cat-like aliens as cats were referenced a lot in the show.
The cat and sneople races would be cool to explore in a SU revival.

I'd personally love a spin off following Pink diamonds creation/upbringing, give even more insight on her character. There's also that huge time skip between when she first arrived on earth and meeting Mr.Universe.
I love to see Steven Universe came back and answer more questions! But at the same time I know the VA Zach Callison for Steven Universe went on hiatus for emotional reasons. I just hope he's doing ok and doesn't get pressured if he's not up for it.

@@gamefan6219i don’t get why SU is as hated as it is? We’ve got shows like Velma, High Guardian Spice, etc. SU fell of to me, but it had a peak at some point and did some amazing things (like Peridots redemption arc). Those shows, though? What peak did they have? They always sucked..
I hope I'm not the only who thinks we should have gotten a Lars of the Stars spinoff...like...the off colors and Lars flew off into space and barely got much after because it's all from Steven's perspective. I'd like the POV to change for once.
the POV needs to not be Steven-centric in a series, like seriously the entire main show, the movie, & the future series are all centered around him (plus i think his va went mia but idk).
SU has like, so many characters with un-fleshed out stories & general plotlines that were left unexplored, like Rhodonite’s unimplemented story with Morganite, origins of the diamonds/gem species, other alien races/empires that are enemies to the gems, etc, literally so much potential content that they can explore
Steven Universe Future really hit home for me when it came to talking about problems. When Connie’s mom made him realize he had been seeing pain and suffering for years, and it’s backfiring on him, I think we all realized at that point, our favorite heroes in books or series, if they were thrown into normal everyday situations we take for granted, they’d be lost since all they know how to do is save the world.
He alot was going on. PTSD, losing Connie, little home world, spinel memory wipe problem, and then there dark theory I have in mind, the Steven and Connie fusion itself.
That's what I love about Halo 4 in particular; they took the Master Chief (a character kidnapped at 6 to be turned into a supersoldier, and who up to this point had only been shown AS a soldier), and based the story's secondary conflict around a problem he couldn't simply shoot his way out of, and they show us that struggle, and they used this in turn to start "awakening" the otherwise-dormant human part of his character. It's very relatable in a way that most action heroes simply aren't to me.
Steven Universe was the show that helped me realize maybe I should move out away from my abusive family, I still am working on that but putting the idea in my head helped. So watching Steven actually get to leave Beach City at the end of Future really hit hard for me.
Who else hopes we get a continuation of Steven Universe?😭

I’m hoping what we get, is more backstories about other gems in the show. Like the show could be called “Steven universe: Extra universes” with the title of each episode being “[Gem name]’s Universe: [short title about said episode]” which includes 20 minute episodes of certain gems they wanna cover the backstory of, with more parts in case it’s somewhat long.
They could go over how most of the off-colors came to be, like the two fusions, and how everyone met, while also going over their backstories. We could also get more stuff about different gems during the war, or before the war. More events before Steven was born and such.
While we could also get the beginnings of the Gems themselves, since we haven’t got that yet. Maybe we get Whites beginnings, and how she came into existence, while also getting the other diamonds and how they started the empire.
Stuff like that.
Yes, basically the Adventure Time: Distant Lands approach would be best. I don't know if there's really enough left to do with another full series of Steven as a main character, nor do I necessarily think any of the other characters or eras warrant their own series, but individual specials about other characters and eras would be a great extension of the Gem universe.
this may sound odd but I really wanna see more motives/representation of fusion. I love how they displayed them as a sort of relationship that can be in both good and bad forms. I feel like I learned a lot from that haha. Also fusions are just so awesome in general xD

I would love a more fleshed out version of Steg bc i was a little dissatisfied with the movie representation and the surface level kinda thing we got and I'd love to explore more familial fusions but tbh im just excited in general

I feel like every person likes Peridot, but I LOVED Peridot because I related to her a lot. After finding out I had ADHD, I felt disappointed in myself. But when I watched Steven universe, I felt a deep connection with Peridot and I'm finally accepting myself.

What we would love is for Rebecca to patch up all the stuff that was missing from what CN axed out, if it was helpful, plausibly and maybe see more of Lars hopefully getting better and better, if plausible?
My favorite moment of the series has to be when Peridot betrayed the diamonds AND Homeworld.
After she saw that Earth had beautiful life, she decided it wasn't worth it to destroy the planet.
Her character development was flawless!
When she was first introduced, i thought she appeared to be some cold, monotone homeworld gem who just wanted to do her job. But when her limb enhancers were removed, she was nothing but a tiny nerdy gem.
Same, the song peace and Love on planet earth is my fave of all the show too

As both a huge fan of the show and a geology nerd, I would love to see what more there would be to offer from this universe, and what new and interesting types of gems there would be, and I’d love it if the show consulted with actual gemologists when creating characters because it’s weird to me that Larimar has an Icelandic accent when the stone is from the Dominican republic

I’d want it under the conditions:
1. it’s a flashback series about the war and setup for most explanations or even a moral. Like the recent hit series, Fionna and Cake.
2. It’s the future of the future. We start where we drop off. Simple as that.
3.Or finally, my idea the years between Change Your Mind, including Save the Light or Unleash the Light w Pyrope n I forgot the other included or even mentioned, to the movie. Cuz I mean, the diamonds need more explanations than just being immediately redeemed.
I've been watching the show since 2016 and I grew with it. I'm 22 now and this year I started studying animation.. it makes me happy that these characters and stories inspired and encouraged me to learn more about what I'm passionate. ❤ Also I remember watching Crystal Clear specials back in the day to be updated about the latest analysis, curiosities and theories, time flies !!
I'd like to see a SU spin off maybe with more mature themes and settings (like the Fionna and Cake sequel) or maybe more like in Distant Lands, like 50-60 min animated episodes which make amini series.
It would be great to explore some new characters, dynamics, songs and lore maybe.. I feel like this creative universe still has a lot to offer. Also I need to see official lapis and peridot fusion if that's a thing 😹

I started loving the show when Strong in the Real Way song played- I was having a really tough time with self loathing and feeling weak after a back injury and Pearl belting that song, and also feeling the same frustration underneath it, then rallying herself to help her family anyway was a moment for me.

I have known my would become Wife for a decade tomorrow. She watched Universe before I did and talked me into giving it a go. Universe and Future came out over what has been the happiest decade I could have with her. The show means a lot to us still.

if rebecca gets the chance, i hope she takes a page from adventure time distant lands and fionna and cake for inspiration.
Both series added to the whole of the adventure time-verse, gave other characters/stories a chance to shine, utilized different genres, and generally stood strong on their own apart from the original show.
I genuinely wanna see how Greg's doing living with the gems, also i think Jasper actually helping a lot of little homeschool gems gain a sense of control through training and her gaining an appreciation for other kinds of strength besides physical through her interactions with her fellow students would be a neat arc. (And not to go all shipper mode on this but I think she'd see a lot of this in Pink Pearl aka Volleyball, recognizing that even if she wasn't hurt on a battlefield, she suffered a pain that would break most pearls and she came out the other side of it in one piece. Not unscathed, but still here. And I think someone who admires strength and resilience like Jasper would be impressed by that.)
I was hoping a continuing series where we can meet aliens that are sapients, the returning characters, and the origin of the gems’ creations.
I also got word that Zach Callison probably won’t reprise his role because he has mental health, and he’s working on songs
I love to see a continuation/sequel series taking place in the far future (about a thousand years) focusing on Steven's descendant who now had Pink Diamonds gem and is an galactic ambassador for both Earth and the Gem Homeworld and they travel across the galaxy helping to maintain peace.
I actually want to see more of Era 1 and 2, I feel like Rebecca has done such a great job of world building in the original show and want to see more about the diamond authority and the complex hierarchy of gem society in and out of homeworld. We've seen only the tip of the iceberg in my opinion...

I used to watch this when I was a kid, and as a 20 year old man now I would absolutely love to see this show come back
For a revival, I can totally see a 30 min special that serves as a montage of Steven's road trip for over a year and a half, which leads us into the first season of Steven's Adult Years, where he's 18 and still living in his van, almost ready to settle down in a city that's maybe near Connie's college or Beach City, but not in either of them since he wants to prove his independence. He's still seeing a therapist, getting the help he needs for his CPTSD, and is thriving. Until he almost relapses because of the introduction to a new set of elitist gems from a different galaxy who are upset that one of their own destroyed their society to live with organic beings. So the whole thing would be focused on gem lore, exploring Homeworld and their society as well as Steven's human side as he won't be going into actual space in order to resolve this issue as it isn't necessarily his job to take care of this new threat. It would basically be an A plot (Steven on Earth, exploring his human side and discovering more about Greg's family) and a B plot (Gem lore).... I've had years to think of this
I organised an entire spinoff series in my head, plus two movies, one of wich I actualy made. It be lying if Id say that Steven Universe isnt a huge part of my life.

If we do get a continuation, it had better touch on who created the diamonds. That question has been bugging me ever since the show ended. Also, maybe a continuation could revolve around Steven and Connie's children.
DIAMOND ORIGIN STORY!! Why didn't I think of that?! Steven and Connie raising kids sounds awesome. I say one of them has healing and floating the other had hardlight constructs and durability steven uses his experience to help them adjust to their powers. Also connie starts using gem tech weapons and as a family they defend earth from a new threat
I also want a Diamond origin story but I don't think anyone created the Diamonds, they just appeared into existence, I assume from a Rock in Space
Personal teory on how the diamonds were created: I actualy think it was an accident, like how scientist think life was created. Maybe the minerals of a planet were absorbed in a similar way with how they artificialy created gems afterwards and the diamonds emerged. And since there "born" knowing what to do, they decided there gonna create colonies? It made more sence in my head.

I actually read this article a few days ago and was wondering if you'd make a video on it. I'm happy to say that you didn't disappoint!
This show means the absolute world to me. It’s how I met my best friend, she is the best person I know! This show has always sent me on an emotional rollercoaster in every episode I watched as well as the movie. My favorite character has always been Spinel because her story is something I can relate too… My very first best friend is someone that I practically grew up with and I trusted her with every ounce of my heart just like Spinel trusted Pink. Then one day she decided to just end 10 years of our friendship just like that over text. No reason and she didn’t even say it to my face… she literally just abandoned me and I cried for hours, luckily I had another friend that helped me through the pain and she became my new and current best friend. When I watched the Steven Universe movie and saw Spinel’s backstory, I never cried so much in any moment in SU because it brought back that painful moment in my life. Of course, I don’t hate her and we live completely different lives now so honestly I think it was for the best. But I can’t tell you how much this show means to me!

I feel like there's a huge space between Steven Universe and Future that we can explore. But there's also the thought about Steven deciding Beach City is where he wants to live after his road trip and he has to work through making boundaries to stop falling back into his old habits.

I do hope that if we do get more Steven Univers content, spinoffs dedicated to characters and what they're both currently going through as well as what they have gone through that we have not gotten to see would be the best route to take when it comes to a "revival" of the series.
Steven has always been one of my most favorite main characters, so to see that the show's now a decade old and that a sequel series/spin off is on the table, this gave me massive amounts of joy
And I'll be honest, I would love to see a sequel series about Steven's new life and adventures after leaving Beach City

The show changed my life when I first listened to stronger than you out of context got interested, started the show, and then started my whole 10 year journey of loving the show to pieces. It has changed my life for the better.❤
i remember in my middle school orchestra our teacher(whom of which we all collectively referred to as several variations of Girlboss) got a steven universe tattoo on her arm. she would also recount to the class a lot how far she got through the series and how much it's ben making her cry. she was amazing.
I’d honesty say for next spinoff. Steven should not be the main focus. After all, he’s trying to find more of his human side. Same with the main trio. I’d say a spin-off either consisting of homeworld gems, or what I’m leaning towards; Lars and the Stars spinoff. Which can explore alien races, Lars’s semi-immortality and powers and more characterization of the off colors.
That would be awesome, I'm also a major proponent for the Lars of the Stars led show.
I think it would be best to take the Adventure Time: Distant Lands type approach with different specials focused on different characters and eras. If any of the individual ones go over well enough, then maybe they could be considered as series, but for now I think it's best to explore multiple ideas.
Please make it happen! My few requests for this revival:
- Make it a sequel series to show us the status of Steven, the gems, the Diamonds, Connie, and Greg.
- More emotional songs. The beauty Steven Universe songs - they makes us cry regardless if they are upbeat or depressing
- Give Rebecca and the Crewniverse (god, I haven’t said that term in years 🥲) the freedom they deserve. With how Rebecca was rushed to close Season 5 and how rushed all of Future is, for reasons most of us know pretty well by now 😤, they’ve more than earned the right to make another story or an addition to the story that takes its time and gives us moments that aren’t always sugarcoated (as Vox kinda implied, one of the things I love about Fiona and Cake is how much they got away with - thanks to its MAX exclusivity - in terms of visuals and dialogue, visuals and dialogue that - funnily enough - doesn’t feel out of place for Adventure Time if the show was strictly for adults 😂

My favorite scene from Steven Universe was in season 4, episode 14. When Yellow Diamond walked into the room and I got to see her interact with another character for the first time was AWESOME. Blue and Yellow will always be my favorite character, and that song with always be my favorite song. Such a good scene.

I don't think it will stay in Stevens perspective. Zach callison I'm pretty sure admitted himself that he is done playing Steven. Zach is doing his own things these days. I think we might get a short clip of Steven if we ever get a revival. Just Steven doing his daily life, maybe like a 30 seconds clip we're he doesn't need to speak. Not as in all episodes, but just a episode where he gets mentioned. Like the Connie study scene in suf ep 1. Also, I don't think Steven is angsty anymore. Even tho Steven universe and Steven future weren’t perfect it’s my childhood show that gave me sm fond memories and I will be there day 1 if the show comes back. I’m hoping a show focused on the dynamic of the diamonds/origins would be great. We would be able to see new gems of high status like the gems that showed up in the flashback episode of when Ruby and Sapphire met or other era 1-2 gems. I would also love if they gave us an organic villain instead of another gem villain cause they already put the strongest gems as the villains possibly the creator of the diamonds so they clearly would know their weaknesses.
This show honestly changed my life, and I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. I recently got to introduce Steven Universe to one of my friends and she loved it. We watched like 20 episodes in one night. If/when it continues, I can’t wait to watch it with her
My first time seeing this show was when I was 5 watching the episode "Too short to ride" which is now my oldest memory. I was hooked, went back to "Gem glow" and binged for 4 days till and was a little disappointed. I thought a show that was introduced on a beautiful episode would have had the beauty through the beginning to that point. But then "Mr. Greg" came out and I was locked and loaded. 7 years later and I'm still rewatching my comfort show at least 2 times a month. Thank you Rebecca for this beautiful show and I pray all these public voices spread the news and help you get that second epilogue. ❤❤❤
Yessss! I want Steven Universe back and I’m 51 years old! Lol I really miss it!
Some ideas I thought of
1. A arc about Steven discovering about other human gems like him, but they’re all being hunted by an evil secret government corporation using them to create weapons and super soldiers.
2. A spin off series about Connie or Lars, or spinel or another character.
3. A show about the adult version of Steven and Connie and perhaps their future kid.
4. A young adult continuation.
5. A season about other intergalactic beings other than gem.
6. A season about a black diamond and perhaps red diamond.
I super duper hope that Steven Universe⭐ returns cause I want to 👀 Steven to meet his Grandparents, but the most important thing I want to 👀is Steven fuse with Lapis Lazuli.
During the Mindful Education episode, when they sang Here Comes A Thought that song brought me to tears out of nowhere.
I think we should have a spin off based on Black Diamond. I feel like her introduction to the series was rushed, and there's a lot of loose ends, like her relationship to Pink Diamond and reaction to her supposed shattering.
We never did get that Lapis and Peridot fusion, guess it's finally time.

People could act like it wasn’t a highly anticipated fusion and that it makes no sense for us to expect it but…. Like what? Lmao it was setup in every way. Peridot had a reveal moment where she was genuinely curious in attempting fusion and experiencing it. Of course she learned it’s okay to maybe never be ready bc she didn’t understand. However, once garnet explained “it’s Percy and Pierre”, peridot went “ohhhhhh” lol and obviously that understanding would affirm peridot would be more comfortable with fusion one day if she met her “Percy” or whatever.
Then lapis getting out of a toxic fusion with jasper and getting to experience a healthy fusion with peridot, after the fusion ends she could have the same expression on her face that Pearl did when she fused with Garnet after finally having a newfound understanding of her self worth with Garnet. That’s kinda how I saw the situation anyway 🥲 some fans out there really do not want to see lapis and peridot experience a good fusions experience tho. Like I get it kind of but eh……………..

SU is one of my comfort shows, actually rewatching it again at the time I'm typing this. I'd love to see a new series! Didn't realize how well it'd suit it until thinking about it

Id love to see more of white diamond when we first introduced to her and the idea of her she was always thought of as this force and when i saw her for the first time i thought she was so scary and cool, i wanna see more of her and how overwhelming she is

I always want and always will want more Steven universe! I've got the full series box set. My wife and I rewatch the full show at least once a year. Also the end of Future was incredible. More would have been nice but I think they did a fantastic job with the time they had
I personally think that a sequel would be a bad idea. The show had a closed ending, everything that could be told was told. I mean what is there to show? nothing, that's what. Steven has reached the point where there's no more development needed, the character is complete. The crystal gems? they have reached the same point as Steven, and so does all the gems and their society. All that might be left unaddressed is not worth a new show, at best a movie or a TV special but not much more. I really hate it when peoples shout for more when a story has reached a satisfying conclusion and adding anything would be a deservice to the story's overall quality.

Steven Universe has been a huge part of my late-teen/college years, and it became a huge part of my channel, too. Apart from Undertale, Steven Universe was one of those cartoons that left a significant impact on me, and like many other people, I still have a soft spot for the series! (Calling it a "soft spot" may be a bit of an understatement, but you know what I mean. xD) I also have a huge amount of respect for Rebecca Sugar and the content she creates -- and one of these days, I'd love to provide voices for her characters! That in itself would be a huge honor.

On one hand: The franchise had a solid ending and there's no reason to mess with perfection.
On the other hand: I wanna see my boy and his rock family, again!
How about just seeing Rebecca Sugar work on new animated projects ( exploring more YA or even Adult Animation).

Mainly I'm happy solely to the fact this sweethearted youtuber shared their story of their beloved partner they lost and how it was their thing, how when their keys were delivered onto them it actually had their starphire to their ruby. It Haunts my heart. I bottom of my heart this gives them cathartic feels. Vocabulary went to swizz bc I started crying.
I would love to see a spinoff with the gems of how they are doing after Seven left Beach City.

I really hope theres a steven universe spinoff. In this potential spinoff, I'd love to see Peridot and Lapus's updated opinion on fusion considering we haven't seen any of their opinions on fusion since like season 2 or something like that. I'll edit this if I have any more hopes and ides for a Potential spinoff
If there is a continuation of the Stevenverse I hope it's about Steven losing his humanity through death and having to take up the diamond responsibilities that his mom left behind as he would be a diamond. A very tall Steven with the diamond style would be cool af. Ofcourse he wouldn't have his mom's outfit because that would be weird.
I have an idea on what that possible new show could be about.
It could finally give us a long and seemingly forgotten question: Where did gems come from? Who or what made them?
Because it's a known fact that the gems are robotic and pearl herself said that "magic is what humans call something they don't understand,"
Maybe the gems were made by a peaceful race to help build a strong planet but another race of aliens destroyed and took the tech for themselves?
Maybe the start of the show could have steven have this question pop in his head due to his therapist making a joke or something?
I get the story along really and will give a star war or halo fell as far as aliens goes no space wizard, though with steve universe art styles, not mention exoplanets, blue and reds star, netron stars, black holes, plants that are black. O, did I mention steve psychiatrist is not human. Throw a male gem or two to the mix.
Me and my best friend bonded over Steven Universe. It was back in 2015 and I was in Seventh Grade and I had just moved to that section of the county. She and I had the same computer class and she was the first person I met. We both heard Stronger Than You on SoundCloud and INSTANTLY fell in love with the show. We ended up hanging out with each other watching SU. She is still one of my best friends to this day. We're actually thinking about getting matching tattoos on our chests. Me with Blue Diamond and her with Yellow Diamond! I am SO grateful for Steven Universe! We are both hoping for a SU Return :)

If there's going to be a new series I hope they will take less of a focus on Steven and explore the stories and develop other characters like the crystal gems after Steven has left or (what I personally want to see) more depth with the diamonds

I started watching this show when I was 14 to 15 years old and it's had a big impact on my life. So if there's a chance the show can come back, and it's up to us than I will make SO much noise,so people can experience this Universe like i have. # DON'T CALL IT A COME BACK !❤❤🎉
I remember when this show just starting, everytime I saw a commercial for it back in 2013, I would write it off as a kiddy show like one of the sillier ones like Teen Titans GO or ThunderCats Roar. But it wasn't until I started watching it in 2014 that I realized it had more depth to it. But also I quickly got tired of it because my cousin, who was like 12 or 13 at the time wore me out on talking about it, FNAF, and Undertale. But I still watched Steven Universe and I fell in love it by the time 2016 rolled around. In fact, I actually found this channel about the same time and I haven't looked back since. Me and my cousin spent so much time watching fan made fusions, hoping that Peridot would fuse with someone (mainly Lapis or Garnet) and we hoped that Jasper would be redeemed and be a good guy, which kinda partially happened...? But yea many good theories and moments happened with the series. I still binge listen to the music from the show.
the story of steven traveling the world, meeting new people and eventually coming back to beach city at the end to fight some huge problem and then a flash of older him with his wife and his kids. that, in my eyes in a beautiful ending.
