    Well thank you Lachlan for this review. I can't for people at this level of cable buying, it's one of those things you get to understand when you live the kind of life where this is a thing.

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. This already stretches the limits of what I would spend on an IEM cable (or maybe any cable), but there are even more expensive models out there!

    If you want a nice cable reasonably price look no further than the Hart Audio Cable. This all u need

      I'm not recommending people spend this on a cable and I'm not sure that I would, but the quality both physically and sonically is undeniable.

      Yeah, I love this channel. But no way do cable “improve” the sound…..

  • @fatdoi003

    but Lachlan, this is only mid level within EA product lines...... they have A$2600 Cleopatra, $5000 Chiron 8W, $8000 Centurion.... crazy hobby....
    i really don't like silver plated copper as they usually quite shouty from lower trebble... i'd either go pure copper or pure silver... lately I find palladium tames down the silver plating slightly which is more acceptable.... but as a treble slut, pure silver is always my cup of tea when my budget allows it

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that's getting right up there in price - more than most IEMs! Did I say this was their most expensive? (Hopefully I just said it was one of the most expensive that I've ever tried).
      For clarity, there's no silver plated copper here - just gold plated silver, pure silver and pure copper. I'm not a fan of SPC either.

    I just auditioned the Fusion I at an audio show along with other Effect Audio cables. It is my favourite out of most Effect cables I’ve tried. It gave me the most meaningful difference out of all. However, the price tag is indeed hard to justify. At least, I’m not at the kind of financial status to spend that kind of money (casually) on a cable yet. But I did have the desire to buy that cable.

    No cable transforms the IEMs, or at least I’ve yet to try one. However it’s very obvious in blind testing how they change the presentation a significant bit

    • @fatdoi003
      @fatdoi003 ปีที่แล้ว

      I beg to differ... Same IEM, same DAP, 3 cables.... First a pure silver quite rough and glary on treble, another pure silver with extended top end defined edges yet not piercing to the ears, then a 8W pure copper bass slimming to my face seriously punchy warm and rounded.... Well that's what I experienced from those wires

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the key is that it's not turning an IE900 into a Mest Mk2 - the differences aren't to that degree. We're all saying the same thing here. Cables have a noticeable impact on the sound of an IEM, but anyone thinking they can take an IEM that's excessively outside their preferences and fix it with a cable will be disappointed. Taking the edge of the treble, adding some air or adding some body to the sound? Sure.

    If it just came out, and you already have a video review about it, isn't it a COINcidence?
    Also, what if I don't want IEMs?

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No COINcidence (although I fear I'm missing something in the way you wrote that). Effect Audio sent me a review sample in time for this to be released at the same time as the cable.
      As for not wanting IEMs, I think they make headphone cables too.

  • @spamcan9208
    @spamcan9208 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm going to assume that these improvements are on the margins and the only way to hear it is by intently focusing on the music and having something else to compare with.

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it's actually bigger than that. The differences between the stock cable and the Fusion 1 in each case were distinct - more obvious than comparing a couple of Sigma Delta DACs. The differences between the Ares S 8W and Fusion 1 was more subtle and took some careful listening and comparison.

    Wow, what a nice cable. I can see how this might make sense if you already had your perfect IEM and DAP and wanted that last 1-3% of improvement regardless of diminishing returns. The gorgeous looks and feel alone might be reason enough. I rarely like stock cables.

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I agree. It's either a cable that you invest in for the long term (a slight risk if you choose the wrong connector) or one that you buy once you have a bunch of IEMs or the perfect IEM for your tastes.

    The thing with cables is that you pay more for the esthetics and build quality engineering/ergonomics. Price point never reflects SQ alone. Cables are great jewelry for men. 😅

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's definitely diminishing returns with cables and value is always highly subjective, but I would definitely stay that this cable performs better than cheaper cables I've tried

      @@PassionforSound I certainly would think so. Lachlan. I’ve actually gone the extra mile with cables. I use a $1000 cable for both my HD 800 and D-8000. The differences are there, but more importantly the assurances in build quality and proper signal transmission are present. For me. Treble is the biggest noticeable change in my experience.

    Super work as always! BTW, I own over 10 dongles and the new Questyle M15 is in a class of it's own. Truly stunning. Hope you try it. The music is so much more realistic and enjoyable that it's a revelation (compared to Cayin RU6, , Earmen Colibri, Hidiz DH1000, DH80S, S9, Chord Mojo etc.).

    It's amazing that the last 1.2 meters has to offer for quality output. I prefer running 6.35 to a 4.4 adapter, to me that improves relay to both IEM and HP - snake oil or not my ears like it. Does this mean you have a secondhand cable for $100 now - put me down for that>
    P.S What are the imprvements or products you whish to see in the future given the amass of quality at your disposal, might even be a video or two in it. One for tube's?

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I agree. Every step in the chain matters, including the last 1.2m.
      I'm not sure I understand your question/video idea at the end there.

    • @rodm1949
      @rodm1949 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The question is - with the amount of products you have reviewed and used is there something you find missing or an improvement to make things easier to use or have better compatability. More or less a whish list that when made into a video can give a product manufacture an insight to what is sought after by the users.I whish the Geshelli JNOG2 had a volume control- for instance.@@PassionforSound

    • @PassionforSound
      @PassionforSound  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah, I see. Generally speaking, I try to accept every product for what it is. Adding extra features generally will mean extra costs or some other compromise and the designers probably thought of it already and decided against it so I don't try to second guess them. However, if there's a significant issue that it creates (like power switches on the backs of tube amps) then I will call that out and hope that the manufacturers listen. Certainly, companies like EverSolo and Burson have made product changes based on my reviews so it does work sometimes.
