I wonder at what pint the HGV driver thought, 'This was a bad idea'. Recovery driver went above and beyond getting down to his trollies to recover that boat, I mean Jag.
He shouldn't really be driving even if he's just had 1 pint!

The flood didn’t destroy the truck, the driver did it all himself. P45 for him I think.

I'm not sure how he has got stuck, the air intake is on top of the cab on the offside
@@ALMELMUSICLooks like, he couldn't see the edge of the road and it seems the truck has gone down the side of the road and into a bit of a ditch.... Note the N/S of the cab is leaning.

Some of these cars make it through the floods that are quite deep, but the problems come afterwards a few days or weeks after when corrosion begins in the electrical system. they only need a little bit of dampness in the system , especially in modern cars very sensitive.
Keep an eye out for a video on Trucker Tim's channel when he goes out with Shaun Lombardo to recover that Truck.

Who drives an 60K electric jag through that sort of water - battery on the bottom, one leak and its toast.
It's not an electric Jag. That car is dated 2008 and Jaguar produced their first electric car in 2018.
First Jag was a diesel, both air intakes at the front just at the top of the grill. Second Jag was a white I pace.

at 4.16 the Jag MU12TAG is an electric I-Pace Reg on 13 March 2020 source of ref is UK Gov MOT checking website. Private plates do not follow the normal yearly reg displays. Still .a brave man

I always thought Welney was closed at this time of year. If it is and they've still gone thru, they're very stupid. I have seen the video of a local farmer take his tractor through. 🚜
PS I just checked and yes the road across Welney Washes is closed until April 2024🚜

Wash Road will be closed until the water level drops, that might be in a fortnight or it might not. There is never a date put on it as the flooding is dependent on rainfall on the catchment thirty plus miles away from the start of the washes at Earith. The road was flooded before Christmas, was open for a few days and flooded again at the new year.
@@660einzylinder Ok, I was actually looking on Google Maps and that is where it says the road is closed until April. I am sure the road must have been closed when the trucker decided it was passable. I wonder how they get on with claiming on their insurance for flood damage when they have knowingly passed 'Road Closed' signs. Anyone know? 🤷🏼♀️

Southern New England looked a lot like this a couple of weeks ago. Though we don't really have any fords, plenty of places were trying their best to pretend like they have them.

It is unfortunate that some parked cars suddenly become flooded, but it is really strange that so many people will drive from a "dry" road into floodwaters rather than taking a detour. I have seen quite a few expensive cars ruined by such action.
I could not see the point of that red Peugeot at the end driving in then reversing when he had reached the other end of the flood.

You can't really blame the drivers, this is a fairly short section (about half a mile) of quite a busy route and for years the local council have said that they will raise the road level. Of course, the usual thing is that they won't spend the money and so this sort of thing happens. For god's sake just spend the money so that people can get on with their lives.

Water might have come up fast while the truck driver was taking a mandatory rest break. The driver then can't see the road and beers off onto the soft verge?
I doubt that one, nice try though. That truck should have been able to make it no problem, have a look at what the road trains in Australia get up to.
the road is regularly closed to traffic at this time of year so he shouldnt even have driven through and I cant remember seeing any lay bys on that stretch of road so he wasnt on a break
