Wash Road will be closed until the water level drops, that might be in a fortnight or it might not. There is never a date put on it as the flooding is dependent on rainfall on the catchment thirty plus miles away from the start of the washes at Earith. The road was flooded before Christmas, was open for a few days and flooded again at the new year.
@@660einzylinder Ok, I was actually looking on Google Maps and that is where it says the road is closed until April. I am sure the road must have been closed when the trucker decided it was passable. It is unfortunate that some parked cars suddenly become flooded, but it is really strange that so many people will drive from a "dry" road into floodwaters rather than taking a detour. You can't really blame the drivers, this is a fairly short section (about half a mile) of quite a busy route and for years the local council have said that they will raise the road level. Of course, the usual thing is that they won't spend the money and so this sort of thing happens. For god's sake just spend the money so that people can get on with their lives.
