I know some people over here that keeps saying that Jhonny struggling because not having a dash-block is an exageration, but 0:04 to 0:11 is one of the situations where he struggles unfairly because of that. Seeing how fast the HC shooted bullet after bullet, If Jhonny ever tried to dash through it, he would have been countered, because during the dash he is vulnerable to the opponent, that´s why he keep blocking, because he can´t do anything better in that situation. Any other character at least could have move a little bit to try to close the distance with HC.
But don´t get me wrong, not dooming Jhonny because of this, he has amazing buttons, really good pressure and has a lot of health, he´s just inconsistent in the defensive department and suffers more that he should simply beacuse he lacks a tool that the rest of dash character has.

I honestly kinda like him as he is now, not having dash-block means that he can have other silly tools, it obviously hurts his competitive viability since he's so polarising mu wise and it might be a little unhealthy for da game but it's cool and I want F.s to stay 9f which it probably won't if he gets dashblock :(

@@tatsumatsu4071Once again, not having a dash-block doesn't make Jhonny bad, but it will make him lose in situations when Giovanna or Leo shouldn't because both of them has a tool that, is not exclusive to their moveset, but as their character arquetype as a whole.
Is like, for example, not giving a character access to FD. They can have amazing buttons, speed, pressure and a large amount of health, but the moment they are putted in a situation where FD is necessary, they are just going to lose, like trying to keep away Sol spamming close and far 5S, losing not because the character is bad, but because they literally can't counterplay correctly in a situation where the rest of the characters can.

Think you're talking about a 'Fast Roman Cancel', where you cancel the start-up of an RC using an attack. There's videos on it if you want a more in depth explanation.

Tbf johnny should not have brought a knife to a gunfight no matter how good he is with it
You say that and Jhonny still won 4 to 1 games; tbh it seemed like Doman was fucking around a couple of times and kind of threw, but also I think Jhonny has some uses with meter that lets him sway the otherwise bad matchup. Ofc HC is unstoppable full screen against a guy who can’t dash block but that situation really should only happen once or twice a game, that with Johnny’s strong buttons and pressure to keep him at least around the mid screen to threaten with mist finer

Like Space Cowboy said that was a yellow Roman cancel (rc from block to invincible guard crush the opponent and gain frame advantage, unless they block it in which case you get punished) but I’m not sure why it didn’t hit Jhonny, pretty sure it’s omnidirectional as the visual implies; what I believe happened is that the Purple Roman Cancel might’ve done something screwy with how the game registers the yellow Roman cancel attempt. That or Johnny simply got to a spot right outside the hitbox’s range

"Carried" would imply that HC takes no form of execution or skill. In Strive standards, he does require a bit of work to get going.
