I'm 53 yo & grew up listening to Egyptian Lover. Just saw & heard this video today for the first time & had to automatically start popping to this wonderful video! I threw out my back & my sciatica is killing me, but it was all worth it!!!!!
Im 47 next month and did this up until 29, People would watch through Mcdonalds windows at night at me dancing while cleaning. I wanted to restart as i have not danced in 19 years, these guys have shown me your never to old to restart old, and learn new things
Amigo,I'm 48 and haven't stop dancing yet-LOL. I can still pop, lock,do Michael Jackson moves, can still moon walk too. LOL. Still do Hammer moves, the roger -rabbit and other old style dances, etc, etc,.will bust a move any where I'm at if a GOOD tune comes on,people usually gather around and watch, then other dancers ( any dance style will do as long as you're not scared to dance ) join in and I'll step back and let them shine, the whole purpose is to have fun. LOL. I still practice dance moves and add new stuff too, taught my neices and nephews how to dance also. They LOVE it too. Like you said it's never too old/late to restart dancing. Go gett'em-TIGER !!!
Thanks To OG 's Poppers Breakers Wavers Tickers !!! U inspired a 12 yr old young man in SC to dance, Now i will be turning 46 in May Still can get down !!!
So glad you're keeping the vibe alive, and the new generation is bringing it all back! Circa 1983-84 (8th grade), I remember saving up as many tapes as I could to tape KDAY 1580's Friday Night Mixmaster shows with Uncle Jamm'z Army... when _Egypt, Egypt_ hit the airwaves, that was an absolute must-have for every SoCal B-Boy's ghetto blaster, and you HAD to learn how to TUT to make it all come together. Uncle Jamm'z Army used to make super-extended mixes of this song, cutting and scratching it up like there was no tomorrow, and all I could do was PRAY that my cassette tape wouldn't run out while that mix was going. No doubt, you made a slew of hits that _defined_ that West Coast electro vibe. It was a golden era. I was glad to have been there and be part of it, and glad to know you're still making the jams. Keep up the great work!
Awesome ELectro "808" Funk wit Pop-Locking, Breakdancing & the Hot GirLs that put it down wit Bd SkiLLs, ......Another Top Hit from the Legend " Egyptian Lover" .......!!!!
I grew up with the rise of hip-hop, and the egyptian lover, newclues, afrika bambaataa dominated the scene back then. It was and continues to be a great sound. It is unfortunate, that when people think about the rise of hip-hop, they remember run-dmc, but forget the much better (in my opinion) sounds generated by the egyptian. He was truly a transformative force in the growth of the music. Much respect.
Actually, if the focus of the comparison is specifically on the music they produced, not in the manner it was produced, the comparison is valid. Also, I never felt that Egyptian lover received the credit he deserved in comparison to the over-abundance of praise for (in my opinion) a much inferior group like Run-DMC.
Who you telling we will break this generation down hell I was in the store the other day trans Europe Express came on I'm almost 60 year's old yes I did broke it down just great Gene's the looks on there face
Yeesss. I looovvee this video and so handsome big guy. And also in the eighties I Buffy Jordan aka Elizabeth Anne Husted was in the arcade the always top winner at Centipede and my three initials so no one recognized me was EAJ. So wow.

I remember riding in my low rider Nissan-mini with four subs and tri’s behind the seats. Until I went with tilt bed and moved the speakers to the bed. What a great time cruzin in Palm Springs with my brothers from another mother.
