The turning in of foreign driver's license is interesting but in the US at least, I think people would simply tell the Depart of Motor Vehicles that they lost the license and get another copy, ending with one from each country again
We recently matriculated our 10 year old German-Reg Skoda Yeti, 2.0L TD. The total cost was circa 4,000 euros; 3,200 in tax and 800 to an excellent company based in downtown Faro. It was only worthwhile IMO, if you decide to hang on to the car for the longer term.
Interesting about the drivers license. I was simply visiting, back in 2016 and the police were stopping all cars. I had my Canadian drivers license. I had been in the country for 2 weeks and the officer told me I was supposed to have a PT or an International license. Eventually he came back to me and told me it was ok (which I knew it was) … but he tried to give me a ticket. I’d like to bring my Mazda2, standard transmission. How can I get info on the the cost of bringing it and the matriculation? It’s a 2014!

Interesting vid, thanks, can i just clarify @ 16.50 in you mention having to change your drivers license to a Portuguese one if over 60 but when Pedro speaks on it he says license plate - is that a portuguese registered car or is he calling the 'plate' like a permit id - and if a license do you also need to retake any test in portuguese to get a portuguese driving license or do they accept your original one? Ive heard so many different things clarification would be much appreciated
"Driving licenses from countries such as Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, among other OECD and CPLP members, allow you to drive in Portugal without having to exchange them for a Portuguese driver's license. If your driving licence is from an European Union country, you can drive in Portugal until the document's expiration date." This is what it says on the eportugal gov website as of today. I understand this to mean i dont need to exchange my UK drivers? is this wrong then?
I've also just checked the IMT website which says the same thing regarding UK licenses, so it would be helpful to know where this new info re having to exchange your license can be found online

What about a vintage European car in perfect mechanical shape, something I won't find on the used market, say a BMW E30-M3? I could sell it in the states for a bundle, but I'd rather take it home to Europe and drive it. Is it going to be too much of a headache to import?
There is one (new) car you can buy in Portugal that’s cheaper here !!! Tesla ! Cheaper in Portugal than London/ Amsterdam/ Berlin. (I think this fact applies to other BEV’s too, but I haven’t checked )

Does Pedro do leasing too, both personal and/or corporate?
I'm not sure, he generally sells higher end cars from Germany to Portuguese clients.
Does the licence exchange include European citizen as well?
If it's a permanent residence move, yes it does
