Lol, you look beautiful lady. What I enjoy about how you and your beloved slide- kick, run your channel is as if we are neighbors, and you just popped over from next door just as you are to chat and exchange recipes. Its real and modt appreciated as we glean info from you both. Trust me, we are in our comfy pj's or sweaters and sweats in the wintertime, with no makeup or freshly combed hair. You are in good company❤ Okay❤❤❤❤
That is how I make mashed potatoes- pull out the ricer I inherited from my grandmother. I am amazed at how many of my friends have never seen one, let alone used one. I don’t have the muscles to use that masher thing
This is comfort food at its best. I have leftover sauce from beef short ribs that I made on Christmas Day that I froze. I am going to use it in a shepherds pie as the flavour was phenomenal. I love the realness of your videos. No one is perfect nor do we need to be. Thank you for sharing your life and your recipes with us.
Shepherd's pie is delicious. I found a chinois, standing funnel shaped fine strainer at a thrift shop a few weeks ago. I didn't buy it and went back the next week because it was on my mind. It was there! Paid $5 for it, but didn't think to look for the wooden pestle. I'll be going back soon to look for the pestle. 😊
Happy New Year 🎆 That looks yummy 😋 Cooking has become very trying without dairy 😳 I’m trying to get the Christmas stuff put up. Have a great day ❤🙏🏻❤️
That’s called a hair bump. Lololol. Watch Mary Tyler Moore season 3, episode 23. I do the same thing with my tomato paste 🙂 only I put about 2 tablespoons each into a small piece of plastic wrap put the packets of tomato paste into a ziplock bag and take them out as needed. No waste. It is nice to see Sean in the videos. He seems to have become more comfortable in front of the camera. You to are definitely two peas in a happy little pod. Thanks for the apron show. The Shepherd’s pie looks dive in mouth first delicious. I’m considering making one today.
Oh yes shepards pie..im making some tomorrow for my sons 44th birthday..thats his all time favourite meal. I love forever real life..thats the only way to live..and we all love cheesy potatoes or garlic on top..have a wonderful supper and a great evening ❤❤
Looks yummy. I've never made shepherds pie. But you make it look so easy. Why have I never done this??? It's going on my list for this week. Thanks Ali
Shepherds pie is my ultimate comfort food. I have heard of using a gravy, but my mom never did so I haven't tried it yet. Yours looks heavenly and I am going to be making that tomorrow or Saturday, we are expecting below zero temperatures in New hampshire so I can use a warming comfort food. I am jealous of your thrift stores cause the ones around me are mostly junk.
Hello. Shepherd's Pie is usually made with lamb. Cottage pie is made with beef. Both are great with many variations. I love watching you! Thanks so much.
Making this delicous recipe as I type (it's in the oven). I added shredded cheddar to the top of the potatoes to cover the fact I used a can of veg-all as my veggie base instead of fresh. 😂
I make shepard’s pie a lot! We love it! One variation I’ve used, just to try it, was instead of tomato paste, I used cream of mushroom soup. Plus added sliced mushrooms. I’m sure it should have a complete different name other than shepards pie, but I wouldn’t know what that is..🤣🤣🤣 it’s yummy!
I watched the video, but what is on top of your cabinets just curious I couldn't tell in the video. I love Shepard's pie. Love your videos. Happy New Year
Idea: do you have a bench scraper/chopper with a handle? You could directly scrape your chopped veggies from your new cutting board onto the scraper then put them in the pot without having to move your cutting board.
Looks yummy as usual. And if we’re talking cabinets this morning do you mind sharing the paint color of your bottom cabinets? We’re right here with you watching for the coming nasty weather.
Of course! It’s Texas sage from Benjamin Moore. We did the whole kitchen but we don’t have any natural light so we painted the uppers back to white. I don’t love two tone kitchens but I love that green enough to do it anyways.
Here in the UK, it's called a Cottage Pie with ground beef meat & Shepherds Pie with ground lamb meat, some call a ground pork version Swineherds Pie x
Love your apron! Since I watched this episode earlier today I started looking for a pattern to make one. But I can’t find anything. Can you please share which you used? I’m newly retired and now I can start to enjoy sewing more! Can’t wait to get started on new projects like the apron!
Here’s the apron pattern I used. It was pretty easy. I need to figure out my own to do a tutorial but clothes are hard! Simplicity 8230 Women's Reversible apron amzn.to/4a1inNH
Quick tip to remove your tomatoes paste from the can ... open one end over a clean bowl open other end keep can lid on .. now push li thorough all the way and ta da no waste .. try it let me know how it goes
We often use lamb in ours so we always have called it Shepard pie but beef is so much less money and easier to get for most people we used it for the video .

That’s an old fashioned “ricer”! It’s really versatile for all kinds of things!

Love it! We are always on the same wavelength. This looks simply fabulous. It's what's for dinner tonight. Thanks!

That is such a great find! I love a good thrift store score.

I have heard many people use condensed coconut milk and like it. Not sure on the cheese since the non dairy sometimes don't melt.

Comfort food Yippee!
Looks yummy. We don’t drink wine either but I love cooking with it. I just keep it in the fridge. It does take awhile to get through the bottle.
I enjoy Shepherds pie. This looks delicious.

Looks yummy. I've never made shepherds pie. But you make it look so easy. Why have I never done this??? It's going on my list for this week. Thanks Ali
This is one of the things I’d make to get my picky eater kid to eat vegetables. He’s 33 now and eats veg voluntarily.
Love the new aprons!!!
Yep, gotta try this!! Thanks!!!
Happy New Year!

We use both. We like the lamb better but beef is lower cost and easier to find. Thanks for the info.

Hey, use what you have. I hope you enjoy it.

I bet it’s so good!
I watched the video, but what is on top of your cabinets just curious I couldn't tell in the video. I love Shepard's pie. Love your videos. Happy New Year
I need to do a tour. It’s all vintage Pyrex we inherited from our grandparents.

I do! Great idea
😋

Can you make this in a crock pot ???
Also it looks delicious and I can't wait to make it
I haven’t tried it so I’m not sure. Let me know if you try it.
Thanks, the cold in Alberta is going to be -25C tonight
Yikes! 😳

That is so smart! I’ll have to try that.
What you made was COTTAGE PIE. I
It’s only SHEPHERDS PIE when you use lamb.
We often use lamb in ours so we always have called it Shepard pie but beef is so much less money and easier to get for most people we used it for the video .
Hi Ali, it’s Angie here. I was wondering if you could help me if you know how to make GTO Gatorade powder please help.
Hmm, let me see if I can come up with anything. I think most of it is the flavor that will be hard for me to figure out since it isn't natural.
That’s cottage pie. I ts Shepards ipie when you use minced llamb hence shepherds pie.
Its acts like a ricer
