I remember when I was young there is a vanilla tree/plant in our backyard but we didn't mind about it and just let it grow but now we no longer see it growing in our place. I am from the Philippines by the way.
But we plant vanilla in my country Uganda as well
the real vanilla is from Mexico, in the veracruz area, there exists the type of wasp that pollinates the Vainilla (litterally little pod). want the real deal? go to papantla in the state of veracruz mexico.
Informative video.
mmmm yes i guess, but it did not mention that it's origin is Mexico and that there are at the very least 9 varieties
@@alejandrolugo8743 Good to know. Can you suggest me a good article on that.
How much did they pay you to make this comment?
Vanilla originated in Mexico in the state of Veracruz thousands of years ago the land there is fertilized For vanilla Which is why the best quality of vanilla comes from there it’s native to that Hemisphere the French took vanilla to Madagascar but the quality of vanilla there’s never on par with that from Mexico because it’s not native to that soil you won’t get the same quality
the bees that pollinate vanilla only live in mexico and they make their hives in avocado logs.
In Tamil language
vanilla = Sky Moon
Venilla = White Moon
Have a nice day ..😊
Thank you for sharing. Have learnt a lot about lovely vanilla.❤

That's a joke right?
@@lewisjamie288 no they would smell amazing, where's the joke in that ?
I made some extract using Sri Lanka Vanilla beans. The extract was mix of flavors such as cocoa scent, a hit of resins and dates. I bought beans from eBay, (a seller called "purevanillabeans" ). 1Kg for $270 which was so cheap compared to others, but still expensive for me :-(
Companies need to buy from real Farmers and Not thieves!
My great grandfather used to farm vanilla as well during Dutch occupation. The Dutch really cashed in so much money.
Vanilla is originally from my country Mexico. ♥️🇲🇽
@acammtt excatly
acammtt funny you still climbing that wall tho
Farmers should be rewarded cause for their hardwork. Its okay to pay big amount of money cause its beneficial to farmers.
Try buying honey
It's literally like liquid gold.
That's not how you use the word "literally"
Nitnif your in thr phillipines.
Pure honey extracted in front of your eyes is really cheap in india
Not if you are in Nigeria
Were i live raw honey is about $18-$20 a quart.
I hope the farmers can directly collaborate with the international market like online stores.
most vanilla farmers are locals who cant access internet or google, so their accessibility to alibaba or eworld trade and amazon where potential buyers are is limited
well next time I get a cone i'll wear a suit
I love vanilla but I know nothing about it's supply and forming. Thanks for the valuable information.
How do they grow it in the Netherlands?

@@shqiperia60 what does that even mean

Everybody's gangster till they've learned that the world is not just rainbows and vanilla
As Indonesian I use vanilla almost every day to Making a cake...
1:23 *woman says farmers are cashing in*
Me: *sees their Flintstone houses* they sure know how to hide their piles of cash
Imagine how much poorer they were before
They actually have a lot of money, and drive nice cars. I'm not sure why the presenter it's trying to show the farmers bring poor. Those houses are the farmhands houses, not the farmers.
I'm glad they can afford expensive stuff with the high prices from the reduced production from the cyclone in 2018 but 20 dollars for some vanilla extract is a lot. I cant wait for it to get back to sub 10 dollars
They have to pollinate by hand? Meanwhile in mexico it grows in the wild! I wonder why mexico is not the main exporter since vanilla is a native plant. Anyway the taste does not compare 😋
2:25 that dude is rippppedddd 💪
00:36 i can smell vanilla...😂😂
Amazing Natural Gift.
Vanilla is of Mexican origin. Why don’t they grow more?
Actually I think they do grow it quite a bit I'm not sure if they export it to surrounding countries like the Americas. You can buy Mexican vanilla which generally has a much stronger fresher taste than vanilla in the stores.
I agree! Mexican vanilla is also the most expensive and hard to find. It does make the very best homemade vanilla extract.
It's a bitter truth that though vanilla is a very costly crop the life of the persons growing them is very very poor😢
ive never bought a fresh vanilla in my whole life
ohh but fresh vanilla are always the green ones.
