I do! I never gotten them because of any cultural influences, but because I wanted to try something new. As a black person, I absolutely love your hair and ignore the haters because at the end of the day, people are gonna talk shit about with locs or without so, fuck it lol!
I am an African-American who has been loc’d for the last 20 (freeform the last 10) and I love your locs!!!!! I remember getting disapproving looks and comments from other African-Americans because I was freeforming instead of having nice, neat manicured locs. A percentage of the population is going to be negative no matter what you do. That’s just who they are. Don’t waste your time on people who will go out of their way just to try and tear you down. Just feel sorry for them.
I'm just about 2 months in to my free form and a couple weeks ago I had an older black man compliment and ask about my locks. And even before that I was at an amusement park with it all up like sun rays and got complimented by a lady. Haven't had anybody completely trash talk it yet but the looks are funny when I get looked at only because I have it up so funny LOL somebody at work had to ask just what am I doing with my hair hahaha
Bruh! Your locs look awesome!!!! That dude who said “Syke” I was like darnnnnnnn. Hopefully he has a change of heart of future ignorance, and actually is genuine with his next run ins with people and their locs. Cheers man. ;)
@@fabianpacheco will be 2 years in april bro, crazy how much mines evolved since i posted that comment, you was one of my inspiration to getting them and im still rocking them !
I got my locs one week ago , to be honest i thought i was gonna get alot of hate , but it was the opposite, everyone at school loved my locs and said they looked better on me than my straight hair. Even the teachers said they liked it. I do get a looks but you get used to it, learn to embrace and show your locs. I love the spiritual and mental journey you go through carrying this hair style. For anyone having second thoughts , just do it. When i asked my friends and family if locs would fit me they all said no due to me being white and having straight hair. The people who said they didnt like the idea are the one that like them the most. Never care about the opinion of others, do what you want
31yo white brit here. Hi from across the pond. I currently have a short pony with an undercut and am thinking of going to locks. How much longer do you think it needs to be. I saw how much you lost in your dreadlocks day and think I'll end up with really short locks. Also how do you sleep with them?
Bro Im a Caucasian person and ive had my high top dreads for 6+ years and Ive honestly never had a single person say anything out of pocket to me...I guess how you conduct yourself and the area/city you live in may be a factor. Dope Locs though Fabian 💯
You are so right. Both the Vikings and Ancient Britons had them. Unless you come from somewhere where the people were completely sedentary and spent their lives combing their hair or are of Mermaid stock, chances are your ancestors had locs.
I'm curious about just one thing, I heard that after I get dreadlocks I can't go back to my original long hair, Is that true? Also I really love your confidence. Keep up the work
YVNG JOJO - You can, you will lose some length (depending how gently you comb them out). If you've looked after your dreads your hair will still be in ok condition. If they just occur cos you never wash or brush your hair - like me - your hair will be more wrecked when you comb them out.
Do you have Dreadlocks yet? If not, let me know why! 👇🏼
