Sims 4 has some good builds, but some are absolutely horrific. The starters are so bad, I bet they do it on purpose to inspire people to build or use the gallery
Dragon valley is so pretty as a world, i especially love the area behind the hill with ruins and stuff. I always wanted to start a fairy elven household there but it gets tiring after a while, guess the concept is not versatile enough for a normal gameplay

Instead of that they could use paths, and I did not see many horses but they could have put a stable, and include horses as pets in at least half the households. That would have really worked out for this world. But no, roads and cars xdd
I'm so happy I found your channel yesterday. I've been binging all of your lot rankings in Sims 3 worlds and it's what I've been missing in my life. Especially as I've never was able to play it when the Sims 3 was popular and recently treated myself to all the packs and all the worlds. This is the exact kind of content I was looking for to get to know the Sims 3 worlds.
I actually like that Dragon Valley have a vibrant and cheerful color schemes than usual medieval fantasy, but they should take notes from The Sims Medieval tho, idk why don't they just import the stuff from this game considering it was built with The Sims 3 engine. Back to the color choice, this is probably closer to historical medieval life where people like to wear a flamboyant outfit and decorated their stuff with bright color. Hollywood made us believe that medieval age are leathery and brown, while Skyrim made as if medieval-fantasy seem gray and grim. If only The Sims team pick a better color pallet, different pattern, and use nuanced context, for example if you want to put a purple color, make it rare and only rich sims could afford it because it purple dye was expensive and rare.
So out of the two main families mentioned in the town lore which one is your favorite? The Mithrilen or O'Connell? Personally I leaned towards Mithrilen because elves and because of the potential drama based on their family bio. The patriarch being so bitter at losing his family's position as town leader to the point that it's affecting his family? Peak Drama.
I am gonna quibble a bit with the "neither of them is a gardening sim, delete the garden" bit about Sun Home. Sure, they both have the athletic lifetime want, but if you look at their traits they both have Vegetarian and Green Thumb, so gardening may not be their life goal, but it's clearly a beloved hobby that they share. I personally like when a Sim's life goals and hobbies are separate like that; "an aspiring athlete who loves gardening" is a lot more interesting and three-dimensional than "an aspiring athlete who loves baseball." "I can handle animal print or heteronormativity, not both together" had me in stitches, though. 10/10, would absolutely steal that quip. The eye-burning pink and purple checkers legitimately look like what appears when a game can't load a texture.
I agree with you, most of these worlds have the same several cookie cutter base game sims and it's easy to forget EA gave us multifaceted sims in the Sims 3 😴
@@Rekowcski Sim depth is really hit and miss in pretty much all the games, really. I'm most familiar with Sims 2, where a lot of characters are absolutely iconic and just fleshed out enough to really spark one's creativity and interpretation, but there are a few misses. Desiderata Valley in particular has a lot of Sims whose entire character is "X Sim is really into Y hobby" and you have to do a lot of heavy lifting to turn them into something interesting.
I know we all hate the bathroom sink in the kitchen, but I recently found an old build of mine where I put a KITCHEN sink in the BATHROOM. And honestly, that was worse.
Honestly kitchen sinks are bigger and have more utility so I think it makes wayyy more sense. I wouldn’t be mad at it, especially in sims 4 because they always do dishes in the attic bathroom anyway.

Honestly speaking, I really like your channel. Watching your videos making me smile and laugh a lot. I really like the way you narrated the videos. That being said, it's too bad I had stopped playing The Sims game for many years now. I don't even remember what last expansion pack I had for Sins 4 but I'm still enjoying watching videos here on TH-cam such as yours. I had been playing this game since The Sims 1 and at one point even became a custom content creator for The Sims 3 on TSR as a Select Artist. All my CC were available for free at that time. I might one day purchase and reinstall The Sims game again but since I'm currently pushing fifty and with my daily activities i wouldn't really counting on that though. You and I both like the Rinky Dinky Kitchen Sinky best for a kitchen sink. That's got the two-section basin. Funny, while I've seen a lot of there, I've never had that kind of sink. I've always had the standard rectangular kitchen-sink basin. I hate when they use a round or oval sink in the kitchen, but any of the rectangular ones are ok. When I've played as an architect and a challenge came up that needed 2 sinks, I'd use the RDKS and the big industrial sink. Figure that one's for the pots and pans.
i think the main problem is that they made like 30 bathrooms sinks and maybe 2-3 passable kitchen sinks, so there's not much to choose from and most people dont even notice anyway

If you are done with rating all the original Sims 3 worlds, you can make compilations with the best and worst EA builds of the Sims 3. It could be a new project for you (also super easy, just cut out the best and worst parts from your already existing videos and edit them together. Maybe some intro/outro talking to the camera parts) I would definitely watch them, and I'm sure a lot of people would click on videos like BEST and WORST.
DV has some of the best exterior on houses. However, disappointing interior. The problem is that base game item are too contemporary. You need to have world adventures and supernatural installed to make these houses look good. A beautiful world tho. Nice vid.
All this talk of blues with green makes me nervous to look back through some of my designs! But if it is blue with like a teal that is different right?
Epilepsy warning? (I have epilepsy and it is flashing lights (some), or certain sounds. I haven't heard of anyone who has issues with color combos.) But yeah, some of those color combos violate the Geneva Convention, The MagnaCarta and US Constitution at the same time.
Thatched means the roof is made from vegetation, usually straw or reeds. Common at one time, bit of a fire hazard though. Oh, and you don't escape from a Scottish wedding.
I absolutely love Dragon Valley, but I renovate everywhere, using default replacements for all electronics, as well as rebuild proper castles (with the Sims 3 Store's castle kit, as well as lits of other renaissance pieces from the store). I do introduce splashes of colors (but more solids with imbedded patterns to fit the time period better). I also use modded pizza ovens from Monte Vista, as well as modified workable cooking (from Sims Medieval), to m9re accurately fit the world. I also create outhouses, and bathhouses (for the richer sims), to fit the world better. I also use modified vehicle replacements with horse drawn carriages (for the rich sims), and others travel by horses. Since I do incorporate Supernatural (that also adds a lot to the builds, along with Midnight Hollow), I incorporate witches and fairies (spell casting-broom riding and gardening and mischief/Lore. I also am looking into finding replacements for the Supernatural method of travel (I think of Dragon Valley as a fantastical world, si it would work). I do also add in werewolves and vampires (although I scale them back, so they do not spawn as much), and while zombies do annoy me, I sometimes alliw them to spawn on full moons. I was suprised at the 10 you did give out, because it just missed the mark, for me (I am extremely biased and picky about any and all medieval builds). Also, I was a bit saddened that you did not showcase The Renaissance Faire (I think it is nearly the best feature to add in), if you have not already.
@@Rekowcski Yes, it is, but I think if you do get it (which if you go to the Sims forums and follow the Daily Deal Rotational thread, you can find when it is on sale for the cheapest price), it unlocks a couple aspects (like the black dragon, for instance). The dragons are a nice touch, and if you add witches and fairies, they are even more fun), although to be honest, the dragons are just a little step up in graphic design of The Sims Makin' Magic ones, but imo, do not have the personality of those. I understand, it would be difficult thing to do better, for standalone content, without using the coding from the Pets EP to make them better (i.e. grow up bigger). But the Faire is such a fun venue (even taking aspects to incorporate into other worlds, especially carnivals in Appaloosa Plains, for instance. I love the axe throwing (reminiscent of Sims 2), and the archery (which is not prefect, but designed decently for premium content). The build pieces also can be added into so many different builds, as well. And we all know that SV and TB can use some love, haha.
Just currious . Is Dragon Valley on the New EA App? Very cool world for sims 3 over all. I do think it would be even better if they had NOT put some of the items in the places that you would NOT find in those times. Like the foose ball table And cars as well other items that would NOT be in those mideviltimes. But interesring world over all. 👍✌
I know the EA app has had problems but they might be fixed by now (google it and you should find some help) but I bought it off of the sims 3 store this year and it was fine (with origin though)
Oh and you mentioned buildings with secret passages etc. I took a crack at the mansion from the board game Clue (Cluedo). It;s on the Sims Exchange under my username if anyone is interested. It's not a really great build, but there's a lot of good problem-solving in there. ;)
I always suggest to people who are new to big mansions, that if you have any empty room and you don’t know what to do, just make something off of the Cluedo board haha. That sounds cool if you have an exchange link you can share it, or screenshots on my discord x
Somehow i missed this 2nd part. I agree with what you said about the window choices. This world did come with so many beautiful build peices that they didn't even use. I've used several of them on Victorian style houses and they really work well after you adjust the textures and colors a bit. Have you done the same? I know how you love your victorians. ☺

Hmm...this is the only world I've never played in, and I'm lowkey glad. It isn't awful by any means, just disappointing; like I was expecting Middle Earth and got weird castle-esque suburbia instead.
I was expected castle-esque suburbia since it's just a base game world, of course a medieval expansion pack they could have done better, but of course we got "Sims Medeival" instead.

Dragon Valley’s effort was clearly put into the Objects and World,not the actual houses, I mean it isn’t Twinbrook terrible, but not their best.
I really like the bathroom items, and really wish they bothered to use them more.
The first house the one with the evil sister and good sister i like the design for apartments.

Do you have lightmod or reshade in recent episodes? Dragon Valley is pretty dark tbh, and in your game it looks kind of brighter.
I always use a lighting mod from brntwaffles, but I change it up depending on the world. I don't use any reshades though.

Somehow i missed this 2nd part. I agree with what you said about the window choices. This world did come with so many beautiful build peices that they didn't even use. I've used several of them on Victorian style houses and they really work well after you adjust the textures and colors a bit. Have you done the same? I know how you love your victorians. ☺

i have an idea you supposed to check simmer or the sims resources if im not mistaken , specially luxury and modern houses. i guess you can find many nice and disaster one , your videos are so funny 😂

@@Rekowcski fuck yeah! they're so shit to their employees and so egregious with their monetisation. I just keep playing the sims 3 because of the open world and bc I refuse to touch 4 with a ten foot pole (also it has horses!! I love the horses in pets. I always adopt a unicorn when I find one)

Hmm...this is the only world I've never played in, and I'm lowkey glad. It isn't awful by any means, just disappointing; like I was expecting Middle Earth and got weird castle-esque suburbia instead.
I was expected castle-esque suburbia since it's just a base game world, of course a medieval expansion pack they could have done better, but of course we got "Sims Medeival" instead.
@@Rekowcski You're right of course, I guess I was thinking of something like Oasis Landing/Lunar Lakes, which capture that futuristic feel quite well imo, even tho a lot of players tend to not like them as much, in my experience.

@@Rekowcski Midnight Hollow is super pretty, even though the darkness gets in my nerves lol. I love Moonlight Falls, despite a lot of the builds being basic, but that witchy victorian look is some of the best the Sims 3 has ever done.
