Very underrated yt channel and a very informative video. The only thing I would recommend is to maybe lower the volume of music when you are speaking and then keep it to the volume at regular when not speaking/doing visuals and timelapses.
I 100% agree. I need to work around my editing software a little more as the one I was using for this video was very rudimentary. Thank you for watching and your kind words!
@@TheIronMason That's absolutely fine. You've earnt my subscribe and I know how fidley and overwhelming editing software can be. That kind of stuff just comes with time. Honestly, I think just keeping a lower volume throughout might help you being heard better. Wishing you the best and success for your channel man, I have a feeling you're gonna get big.
מדהים !
Thanks!
Awesome job! 👍
Thanks Jonny!
The molds are Very top. I put construction iron on the washeres and a lot of cement to make them strong.
That's actually a good idea!
Great job I did subscribe!! do you have a link to buy the molds?
All of the links should be in the bio 👍
You should try buying some concrete paving slabs and cut a hole in the middle!
That seems like a little more work than the prefab molds and a quickcrete bag for $7
That concrete look awesome, did you made it? Already-done mixes in my area look rubbish, nothing like yours, which looks homogenious.
I mixed a bag of dry concrete by hand 👍
Hey I have a question... can I cover them with D seal ? I think that could help to but I don't know if it's a good idea xd
I covered them with Raptor Liner and have a video I need to edit and post. Its helped to keep the outside from flaking but it doesn't penetrate very far. You'd need to apply more than a few layers.
On your note about the concrete dust: you should wear a full seal respirator, not a dust mask. Also (I'm sad to say) facial hair reduces respirator effectiveness, as air can leak in much easier, so you should be clean shaven before working with concrete.
Dually noted! I will take that advice. Though, it is highly unlikely I will shave my beard just so I can do things involving concrete. I'd rather die tbh lol
@@TheIronMason 😅 one of the reasons I'm scared to grow it out. If we end up in a zombie apocalypse, I wouldn't want to have to go through the pain of putting down my face wombat lol
Can you use Quickcrete quick set concrete the red bag for these kind of weights IK dumb question
Not a dumb question at all. I'm sure you could. Though, if you do use Quickcrete I'd recommend using a mix that has a 5000psi rating. If you have a moment I'd recommend watching my six month review on concrete weights as well as my impressions on the cheapest bumper plates on the market 👍
i would add some like 9 guage steel or some sort of wiremesh. itll be stronger and u can just drop the weights
Solid Idea!
Please lower the volume of the music, otherwise it was great. Thanks!
Noted! Have done so in my newest videos.
Don't believe you mentioned in the video or in the list of items, but what were the fibers you were mixing into the concrete mixture and do they really help that much with keeping it together and making it stronger?
I think I do mention that the fibers are fiberglass and they were included in the purchase of the concrete molds. You can check out the owners breakdown on his channel I believe its stix and stone.
@@TheIronMason Does it help that much with helping the concrete stay together?
How thick are they? I’m concerned they take up too much space on the bar..
The 45's are about as thick as a clenched fist. So maybe 4 inches wide?
You should also get a water reducer plasticizer it lets you use less water and make the concrete move more fluidly there’s also another thing you can put in the concrete that’s a sodium silicate Densifier it crystallizes the calcium in the concrete and makes it way stronger and sort of seals it so it won’t feel so chalky as you use it. If you run out of the fiber chop you can find a stucco supply store near you to get fiber chop or by this woven weaven fiber cloth and cut it up you can also seal the plates with SA2000 to close the poors of the concrete so the don’t absorb oiled from your hands to stain them.
Thanks man!
the video is awesome but the price on the molds is incredibly stupid. for that price i could just buy actual weight plates that will last forever
Thank you for watching and the comment! If you haven't watched my concrete weight review yet, check it out. That's one of the points I go over in depth 🤙

Great job but next time i recommend using rebar too
Yeah, if I ever make more I definitely will. I recommend you watch my follow up 6 month review of concrete weights 🤙 hope you enjoyed and got some use out of it
@@TheIronMason ive never seen anyone use fiber glass before so ill have to try it but i have seen people use chicken wire and rebar and they survive an 8ft drop
Brother, you need to iron The wast to increase its useful life, as well as its weight.
I never thought of that. Thanks for the tip!
Music is so loud. Why do so many people mess this up. There is research papers galore on Google showing how loud the music should be compared to speaking volume
It was one of my very first videos.
The molds are too expensive. I'd rather just use whatever I can come up with. Yeah it be nice to have a mold and make them look professional but it's way too over priced and I just need them to be practical.
That's a solid point! I'd check out my review on the cheapest weight plates. The company in that video keeps having good deals and rubber plates are a buy, ship, lift kinda deal. They might be cheaper for you overall!
@@TheIronMason Yeah, I'm just going to make my own plates and molds. I'm liking the trash can plates with the handles on them. So far they're one of the nicest looking concrete plates I've seen on here but can they be made in different sizes idk.
@@luigiprovencher8888 just use a bucket for smaller plates.
@@coloradoretreats No. I don't need smaller plates. The biggest plates I've got are 35 lbs I think so I need a bunch of 45s or bigger even.
waste of time and money , concrete will dry and 50 lb will become 10lb ...so do fishing or hiking etc ...
Funny enough after drying it didn't reduce in weight at all on my end.
This isnt true at all. While adding water to the mix adds weight to the initial mix it does not change the volume of the concrete itself. So as long as you weigh out 50 lbs dry, add water, and let the concrete cure it will be around 50 lbs. Usually a little over because a tiny amount of moisture wont dissipate. (like a pound or 2) this is a great cheap solution 😊
@@TheIronMasonYeah, its a great method for cheap weights. Dont let him stray you from that. I was planning on doing it myself but didnt feel like making molds. Now i know where to go 👍🏿
