2019 marks 20 years since Philippe Jaroussky made his stage debut in 1999. Since then, he has performed on stages across the world, released numerous albums with Erato, and collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists - including singers Cecilia Bartoli, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Emőke Baráth, Karina Gauvin, Nathalie Stutzmann, Julia Lezhneva, Anne Sofie von Otter, Sophie Karthäuser and Max Emanuel Cencic, and instrumentalists such as Emmanuel Pahud, Renaud Capuçon, and Gautier Capuçon. "For me, musical friendships are so very important," he says.

Que c'est difficile et risqué de s'aventurer sur le chemin glissant des lied de Schubert, surtout quand on n'a pas l'allemand pour langue maternelle...J'admire sincèrement le travail inimaginable qu'a dû fournir Philippe Jaroussky pour devenir aussi poignant et convaincant. C'est une maîtrise de tous les instants et il y parvient sur le fil. C'est très beau, ça force le respect et sa vision aérienne de ces mélodies ne jure pas du tout avec l'âme du cher Viennois...Il faut dire qu'en plus, Jérôme Ducros, très enveloppant, lui "amène cela sur un plateau"...Il reste cependant comme un parfum de "mélodies françaises" déjà entendues par le passé mais à peine perceptibles...

My favourite countertenor, I've been following him since Opium... Can't believe it's been 10 years, wow! I like how this compilation album is structured, with about an hour of the classic Baroque repertoire, an hour of duets and an hour of late romantic and modern pieces. Here's to another 20 years! Please come back to Asia!

Композиция напомнила не только прекрасного утонченного романтика - Шуберта, а также других немецких композиторов: Шумана, Мендельсона, Вагнера.. Словно очутился в сказачном замке Людвига Баварского или в фильме " Людвиг" Л.Висконти.. Необыкновенное нежно -лирическое исполнение, замечательное перевоплощение в эпоху романтизма.. Mateus Tavares Pereira , com certeza. Um dos melhores presentes de aniversário que já ganhei foi o recital de Jaroussky e Jerome Ducros, do cd de canções francesas, que eles deram na Sala Cecília Meireles, no Rio, há alguns anos. Inesquecível!
É bonito ele cantando esse repertório. O que eu respeito mesmo nele é o fato dele ter aberto uma academia de música pra molecada aqui perto de Paris. É legal ver que gente como ele olha pros outros.
Uma Francesa radicada em Portugal e que delira com a voz de Philippe Jaroussky .Se não conhece ainda vai ouvir o Stabat Mater, de Pergolesi.

Gérard Souzay era francés como Jarousky, e Ian Bostrige inglés, y qué diferencia. No se trata de cuál sea tu idioma materno. No es necesario ser alemán para cantar con maestría los lieder de Schubert. Ahí está también el ejemplo de Victoria de los Ángeles.

Avant, j'ai pensé que Barbara Bonney ont eu la meilleure version de cette chanson lieder; mais, je crois que Jaroussky la dépassé.
It's just darling the way the pianist keeps looking over at the 'vocalist.' Oh and - it's just beautiful the way a dotted quarter note [high D] suddenly gets only two beats instead of three. The poor man can't sing this properly so he cuts the note short but roughly 33%. Nice. Singers do not know the first thing about rhythm - or anything architectural.
This is excellent falsetto. I wish Mr. Jaroussky would observe the silences at the ends of phrase accurately rather than wherever he feels like. Just as there is a precise moment to enter each phrase, there is also one at the ends of phrases. I would add - this piece does not sound good in B flat major. It is like taking Schubert's E flat major Trio and playing it down a 4th. Why do vocalists transpose? Because pianists can.
It's a butchery of Schubert. Yes, he feels he can do whatever he wants to the composers' music. He probably doesn't even know he's singing into the rests. I find his singing unbearable. It's falsetto, like all fake countertenors.

I would add - he is totally INCAPABLE of executing the two final phrases - reaching for the high E flat ONE FULL BEAT EARLY. I wonder if music 'critics' will even pick up on that? They are a stupid bunch you know, and they know less than nothing ABOUT music, perhaps especially rhythm. This is all SO FAKE.
