Yeah why can't people make more original cults like mabey there could be one about worshiping a giant gold hand and then all the worshipers would be forced to donate gold to make some sort of giant pyramid in worship of this hand
SOOOOoooooooooooooooooo much love for picking FFVIII guys, my inner geek could not approve of your FF knowledge more, I had been completly unaware the Final Fantasy games were on your play-dar!
PieKlan Also brushless motors need really specific ESCs a d they aren't designed for operating under load (that's why only really light stuff like drones and RC planes are generally powered by brushless motors)
TheRoboteer they do but they arent hard to get if you know where to look, mounting them onto a reliable reduction mechanism would be the hard bit for the hatters.
Guys, the matrix is not an adaptation of "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", that is Blade Runner. You seem to get everything wrong about everything in this video.
it's a bit more than that. it's more of a "if I were to simulate a universe, what things could I expect". It turns out that that there are quite a lot of wierd things you'd expect a simulation to have actually occur in real life, such as a minimum resolution (plank length), simple start point (high energy point -> big bang), non identical objects (Pauli exclusion principle) ect.
If I recall correctly the way spells and stuff work in the books also involves hand and wand gestures (Swish and flick! if you remember) so I guess you can get better by practice same as martial arts or something?
Without being a nerd haha orks aren't actually born in big pits they breed just like humans and uruk-hai are a cross of orks and goblins not orks and elves haha
I like these ones where you are more laid back and just talk and end up in philosophical discussions that spiral out into very nice conversations. They are quite nice and relaxing.
Brushless is amazing but you need beefy ESCs and for batteries use Li-ion best source for all 3 is hobbyking, -Source Robot dude/have lots of friends in the robotwars scene
Orcs were once elves, they were tortured in Morgoth's dungeons. I think it's mentioned that they were able to multiply after the fact, so that all orcs aren't those original mutilated, corrupted elves.
I got a pretty good response, I asked for a photo and Trott & Ross said I could have them both at once, to which Turps shouted over with "Just like last night!"
You know what's really funny (3:31) I was just in Australia for a weeks holiday. Was absolutely amazing. Went swimmingly the whole way through. But right at the end, me and my fam decided to do a segway tour..... tld; my mum fell off and pulled a muscle. Luckily, wasn't anything bad. She's healing. But kek, what they were talking about happened :P And on the day we were flying out. Literally about 7 hours before our flight :P
Hermione is sort of 'book-smart' in Harry Potter, and yeah she's probably the best at spells, but Harry seems better as he's very headstrong and I guess he learned how to defend himself by throwing himself into ridiculously difficult situations
Guardians of the Galaxy universe is this universe. He was taken in the 80's. The Earth year would still be the same as it is now. It's just super far away
Uruk-Hai are a combination of Moria Goblins, and Orcs (cant remember what type) and somehow that acclimatizes them to the sun, which never made sense to me. Also as far as I am aware Gandalf never used magic against any Orc, Golbin or Uruk-Hai because he wasn't allowed.
Hahaha, the conversations they have sometimes are just great Also, I agree with Trott, I'd want to live in the Star Trek Universe, the original series though. How cool would it be to have safe space travel and safe teleportation and peace, at least on Earth. That'd be awesome, haha
Nah they dressed up as orcs to help Door Monster with a skit and then just filmed their own improv madness afterwards. But clearly the orc personas we’re inside them all along. You could say they finally emerged from the pits.
Actually, Only in the movies do the orcs hatch out of membranous sacks. In the books they are not stated to reproduce in any atypical manner. From The Silmarillion: "For the Orcs had life and multiplied after the manner of the Children of Iluvatar." Thank you.
Orcs are corrupted elves. "The Silmarillion contains a suggestion that Orcs are descended from East Elves (Avari) captured by Melkor, their minds and bodies distorted and corrupted.[30] There is evidence of the immortality, or otherwise long life of Orcs. They certainly did live for at the very least hundreds of years, since Bolg was the son of Azog and his death occurred over 140 years after the death of his father."
all orcs were morgoth's/melkor's corrupted elves. There are no female orcs because all orcs come from spawning pits. Uruk'hai are orcs but are just specially bred by saruman.
Lineage matters in the Harry Potter world and does affect how powerful your magic is. Voldemort is a descendant of Salizar Slytherin, one of the most powerful Wizards there ever was. Voldemort also practices dark powerful magic that was forbidden for a reason. His power was from his blood and also his unique studies. Fun fact. Voldemort shares similarities to Hitler in that they're both what they hate. Hitler was a Jew and Voldemort was Half Blood. His father was a Knight I believe. He mentions it Chambers of Secret. Harry is similar that he had amazing powerful parents in their own way. He also had a piece of Voldemort inside him, which granted him abilities like Parseltongue, which is talking to snakes. Voldemort likes snakes. Harry also has muggle blood in him as well though, his mother's parents were muggles or at least magic-less. Most everyone in Hogwarts had muggle blood in them. Hermione having directly came from Muggle parents meant she would be naturally not as powerful. But since she studied and practice all that she can. She became a powerful Witch all by herself and the little magic blood she had in her. If she had not been such a bookworm or so hungry to prove how great of a Witch she was. She would not have been one. Harry and Voldemort just have that almost naturally. Hermione had to work for it.
I would, but now you have said the words... well people might notice. Curses, will have to find a new way to indoctrinate people into the light of our lord and saviour Ross Hornby, Fookin Hooway Amen.
A rant-style dealio that is referring to the discussion that starts at around 20:15. *Read on if you dare* I personally think the problem is more in one person being married to multiple people, when really, the fairest way would be multiple people married to each other, therefore nobody really gets too jealous. Obviously in couples like that there will be a bunch that have people who simply dislike one of the others, and in many cases there would always be one person linking everyone together (like, oh Tim here travels around alot and is in a constant consenting relationship with multiple people who, while consenting to be in a polygamous relationship with somebody, might not necessarily ever meet the others or even just dislike them). With polygamy in a society where all people get equal say, there would be jealousy in around 80% of all polygamous relations where three or more of the people are always in close contact with each other, (for instance, in a polygamous relation with two females and one male one female may get jealous that the male is spending more time with the other female, while in a polygamous relation with two males and one female, the two males may find themselves fighting over the female), which is where the solution of trying to keep the relationship shared properly, and not have A & B in the polygamous relation only loving C. Polygamy works in many Middle-Eastern cultures because in most cases women simply can't have as much of a say in what the men do, they are literally not allowed to act jealous of the other women in the relation, and honestly, since a large amount of them are promised to the men anyway, they don't have much reason to be jealous that they aren't getting railed by Warlord Habib. Polygamy is a sort of 'well if all parties are consenting then good for them, why should we get in their way' sort of deal for me.
look at jumpchain cyoas you travel to diffrent worlds of fiction get in powers based on your world and slowly become gods over 300 different cyoas to uses more being added
I've got quite a few poly-amorous friends and they're very healthily living together and recently got engaged! A big part of a poly relationship is absolutely trust and communication c:
I think they've been together for quite a few years already! From what I've seen they're committed to each other and there's no signs of upset in the relationship c:
Robinski000 it can work but it is a lesser type of intimacy because there's always part of you that you give to someone else. marriage isn't about Hollywood romance but about sacrifice and commitment to achieve something greater through partnership
I've been in a poly relationship for 5 years now. 10 years with my partner, 5 with my girlfriend (concurrently), multiple others on a more casual and temporary basis. both partner and girlfriend have or had their own other relationships at the same time. jealousy was an initial issue, but when everyone is entering into this sort of relationship on the same page, and there is trust and communication and so forth, it ceases to be an issue. a bigger issue is time management, honestly. making time to see people each week, when each person has their own jobs/university/whatever, can be a headache.
Trott's segway accident is one of my favourite Hat Films moments.
AAAGGGHHH! Trott's gone!
This is a thing? Where?
Dookus Maximus it's in the American RoadTrip vlogs
Bungus Grumble mines #vactrott
So sad we didnt see the sign fall on trott
hat flims vs rest of the yogs in go cart build off
Yeah why can't people make more original cults like mabey there could be one about worshiping a giant gold hand and then all the worshipers would be forced to donate gold to make some sort of giant pyramid in worship of this hand
Man that sounds like such a good idea, what could we call it? Oh, I have an idea, maybe The Hand of Truth?
Joseph Wilson It might be just me, but that doesn't realy sound like a cult.
Not sure if making a joke about the joke or if Sir Cthulu hasn't watched Cornerstone?
Bat Chicken1 Yes.
Yes to which?
Thought I opened multiple tabs. . .
I read your comment, I don't get it, I play video, wait did I open multiple....
i thought i dropped multiple tabs of acid bro, deal with it
Where you at man? I want your videos back!
SOOOOoooooooooooooooooo much love for picking FFVIII guys, my inner geek could not approve of your FF knowledge more, I had been completly unaware the Final Fantasy games were on your play-dar!
If only Smiffy's electric buggy idea was as easy as it sounds
PieKlan its not that hard to motorise a pedal kart with a good gearbox, brushless, ESC and li-ion batteries your done easy peasy
PieKlan Also brushless motors need really specific ESCs a d they aren't designed for operating under load (that's why only really light stuff like drones and RC planes are generally powered by brushless motors)
TheRoboteer they do but they arent hard to get if you know where to look, mounting them onto a reliable reduction mechanism would be the hard bit for the hatters.
from the line "meats back on the menu" is it safe to assume that there are orc restaurants of some kind where they can have menus?
Harry Potter had a higher midichlorian count. That's why.
13:45 - "We could be living in the Matrix right now." YOU'VE ALREADY HAD THAT CONVERSATION!!!!
Trinity: "A déjà vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something."
the discussion around 19 minutes, exactally why hat films are my favourite. no pandering bullshit
*Nerd voice*
Excuse me, err... Pologamy Smith, I think you'll find it's Polygamy, *Exhales heavily through nose*
Thank You!!
Guys, the matrix is not an adaptation of "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", that is Blade Runner. You seem to get everything wrong about everything in this video.
Trott's looking on point.
love how much effort you put into broken cam editing
The philosophy behind it isn´t "its true" but rather "we can´t tell if it is or not".
it's a bit more than that. it's more of a "if I were to simulate a universe, what things could I expect".
It turns out that that there are quite a lot of wierd things you'd expect a simulation to have actually occur in real life, such as a minimum resolution (plank length), simple start point (high energy point -> big bang), non identical objects (Pauli exclusion principle) ect.
This was actually a really interesting video involving all of the topics, twas great!
Yup smith knows nothing as usual
guarantee smith thinks that there made from mud
smith has no.... KNOWLEDGEEEE
I like these ones where you are more laid back and just talk and end up in philosophical discussions that spiral out into very nice conversations. They are quite nice and relaxing.
I always watch videos in 480p so watching this one in 720p made the whole video even trippier than the intro.
"Why can't people make a good cult instead of basing it on stupid stuff"
All praise the HAND OF TRUTH!
Chain saw engine Go-karts are fairly common here. We used to use Snowmobile Engines too. 70-90mph.
Brushless is amazing but you need beefy ESCs and for batteries use Li-ion best source for all 3 is hobbyking, -Source Robot dude/have lots of friends in the robotwars scene
Smith just wove his cult suggestion perfectly. From an off the cuff mention to such a great demonstration it was pretty good gotta hand it too him.
congratz on level 100 smith
the end bit reminds me of the ideas in "stranger in a strange land", pretty much a dude raised by martians turns up and starts a love cult
It's amazing how still trott stays during the entire video!
Orcs were once elves, they were tortured in Morgoth's dungeons. I think it's mentioned that they were able to multiply after the fact, so that all orcs aren't those original mutilated, corrupted elves.
some gokarts (at least in my country) use chainsaw engines, it works really well.
Brilliant. As new as music gets.
Glad to hear Smith's appreciation of Wild Beasts. I too believe them to be very good. Odd, but very good
Trotts facecam made my day
love these videos just as much at trials
I miss this Trott cam, I forgot how much it makes me laugh ^-^
I got a pretty good response, I asked for a photo and Trott & Ross said I could have them both at once, to which Turps shouted over with "Just like last night!"
It mentions in the Silmarillion (?sp) that orcs multiply like the children of ilúvatar (elves and men), so there probs are female orcs somewhere!
You know what's really funny (3:31) I was just in Australia for a weeks holiday. Was absolutely amazing. Went swimmingly the whole way through. I want you guys to make electronic buggies so much. You basically are becoming Top Gear anyway...
Ross's question on being in the world of a film is such a hard choice between Star Wars and Harry Potter.
Good job on Trott's facecam 😂👍
Alternate Title: *Alsmiffy starts a cult*
That dead stare and disjointed jaw. TROTT IS HANDSOME.
Harry always excelled at defense against the dark arts, making him powerful against Voldemort. Hermione was good at pretty much everything else.
Sauron actually had his own Uruk-Hai, Saruman just tried to perfect them.
I'd love to see Hat Films IRL race golf carts around a track with paintball guns
i love how trott says reddit is great like wow have you not seen that website
Guardians of the Galaxy universe is this universe. He was taken in the 80's. The Earth year would still be the same as it is now. It's just super far away
If I were to be able to go into any film world it would be the "Invention of the lie" world.
I thought both of Hermoine's parents were muggles.
They were
Wizard + Wizard = Wizard
Wizard + Muggle = 'Mudblood' Wizard
Muggle + Muggle = Muggle OR 'Mudblood' Wizard
Worse than that, they're both _dentists._
I think I'm the only one here who feels smith's pain in wanting to explain brushless motors and escs and batteries to a bunch of fried egg heads.
Trotts looking very poorly animated today
Hahaha, the conversations they have sometimes are just great
Also, I agree with Trott, I'd want to live in the Star Trek Universe, the original series though. How cool would it be to have safe space travel and safe teleportation and peace, at least on Earth. That'd be awesome, haha
Smith- just us three
Trott- Oh ( with disappointment)
Didnt they do this map in a episode like a year or two ago. Where they had to leave the area and they got cars and drove and came back.
i was watching this last night extremely drunk and i honestly couldn't comprehend the beginning
Is this episode where they came up with the idea to dress up as Orcs for that series of skits?
Nah they dressed up as orcs to help Door Monster with a skit and then just filmed their own improv madness afterwards. But clearly the orc personas we’re inside them all along. You could say they finally emerged from the pits.
"Pologomy"...
the philosophy behind The Matrix is Plato's allegory of the cave.
They should released this video yesterday on 4/20 that one race was so trippy
trott is very concentrated in this one
I love trott's cam.
14:22 you just crossed the line.
Actually,
Only in the movies do the orcs hatch out of membranous sacks. In the books they are not stated to reproduce in any atypical manner.
From The Silmarillion:
"For the Orcs had life and multiplied after the manner of the Children of Iluvatar."

I actually remember that intro from ross...its been 7 years!!
Orcs are corrupted elves.
"The Silmarillion contains a suggestion that Orcs are descended from East Elves (Avari) captured by Melkor, their minds and bodies distorted and corrupted.[30]

You guys need to read 'Harry Potter and The Method's of Rationality'! Smith would love it especially by the sounds of it, I prefer it to the cannon.
Crispu Trottu's large lips and small eyes remind me of the Pokemon jinx
that last track was bonkers
Hat Films meets Colin Furze maybe? He'll help you build a rocket powered racing machine in the shape of the death star if you want...
Can't say i didn't expect it...
Youve spoke about the bts of matrix before. smith brought up the camera man point and argued it with trott. or am i going mad?
all orcs were morgoth's/melkor's corrupted elves. There are no female orcs because all orcs come from spawning pits. Uruk'hai are orcs but are just specially bred by saruman.

i wonder who sits there and carefully edits trott's mouth everytime he speaks lol
people use drills fairly often to make small electric dirt bikes
well fairly often in a small community
Living in final fantasy eight would be cool, except you are stuck in a timeloop of unknown lenght because Squall is bad at time travel.
The blackhole map was nice.
Harry was always innately good at the defensive spells whereas Hermione was always innately good at all spells
The title of the video comes at literally with not even a minute left
can someone tell smith to put his camera on 'high' so he doesn't have to constantly move his camera up to see over his car plz
4:25 Like *THE* *HAND* *OF* *TRUTH!*
Lowkey a turn on that smith knew so much about LOTR
You should try naming a track the Scunthorpe Express
Let's start a petition to make them all 3 marry each other.
tfw no notification but you see it in the sub box 2 mins after upload
I remember watching a documentary about a woman who married a ferris wheel.
Come on Ross, the answer to your film universe question is The Matrix. No competition.
This episode genuinely made me feel dizzy
Didn't they do that matrix talk in another video? Or was that a different group?
Congratulations!!!!!!
im rather stoned and that intro made me have a captain badturn
FOOKIN HOWAY MAN!
This is the new hail hydra. Move close, lean in handshake and whisper: "Fookin Hooway Man!"
lunahula I'd be down for that secret society
I would, but now you have said the words... well people might notice. Curses, will have to find a new way to indoctrinate people into the light of our lord and saviour Ross Hornby, Fookin Hooway Amen.
