Wow that's a pretty and cool looking guitar! I like stuff that's different and this definitely is different alright. It sounds really nice and great playing by the way too! Thanks for the cool demo...

Such a unique, beautiful sound these humbucker loaded H2's had. Like them much more than the single coil 60's version.

I have a mint 1972 HIIN OT, rare hardtail variant, made of all birch in sunburst. The sound of these humbuckers are extremely unique and powerful and versatile. It sounds quite a bit better than Ali here (love Neander and his playing, he just seems a bit awkward and off put by the guitar here), and wouldn't trade it for the world.

I have the same one as you but in red. Kill switch stopped working years ago. I got it at a pawnshop in Queens in the mid-2000's for 170 bucks. The guy had no clue what he had it for sale for around 200. I haggled him down to 170.

@@factorybear5264 now that's what I call a score!! I'm here in the northeast Bronx, I do see the occasional Hagstrom in pawn shops, but mostly sixties models with the single coils which I don't really fixate on line I do the Seventies humbucker guitars.

@@TheMrturn1 does your kill switch still work? I have to resolder mine. I also need the four original knobs.

@@factorybear5264 yes it does. You might try one of the Facebook groups, or try Karl Erik Hagstrom at Hagstrom Parts online.

@@TheMrturn1 Thanks man. I don’t play it enough. She’s a case queen if that makes any sense. I got her around 2003. Played it a lot, but only in the house and only among friends. It has incredible tone. Back then I didn’t know much about it as there wasn’t too much information about it online. All i knew was that it was from the 70’s and made in Sweden and that Pat Smere from the Germs/Nirvana played one at some point. But later on, in around 2010, I got in touch with a guy in Sweden who worked at the Hagstrom factory from the late 60’s until they closed. He was an older man as you can imagine and we had an exchange of emails. I gave him my serial number which he placed to 1972. I then asked him of approximate production numbers for H2N OT in 1972. I wanted to know how many were made. The number he gave me was mind blowing. So few were made. Less than 800 he said.
With such a low number, it boggles my mind as to why their price doesn’t reflect it. Like there were way more Les Paul bursts made in 1959 than 1972 Hagstrom h2n ot’s and those things go for hundreds of thousands.

Those pickups have a good sound.

Wondering if the pickups are easy to switch out?

If you know how to solder. But be carefull with the spools, they easly break...

The question is why would you want to. . Those pups and the solid construction are pretty much the two reasons that you buy this guitar. Nothing in the world sounds like those buckers, they're probably the most uniquely designed pickups in the history of the humbucker... It's why they sound so unique.
