Andy, I am in total agreement with you and Guitars and quality! My 1st great Guitar that is still amazing and my main guitar is my '95 Hamer USA FM Special! Such an amazing Guitar! Built in Chicago i believe. It is the Guitar that thrusted my playing forward to unknown heights. It has only gotten better with age. Also Suhr, PRS, Anderson, and Music Man are amazing..my Hamer kills a Gibson..I chose it over a Les Paul side by side in '95. Hamer USA was $1800 and got it for $1300..The Les Paul was about $1000 more . So sad Hamer USA is gone! I have always gotten compliments on my guitar and tone like it was a special one. Keep on Rocking Andy. You make John Suhr proud my man!
I bought a maid in Japan Richie Kotzen signature telecaster for $1300 and that Guitar is an absolute freaking beast and one hell of a workhorse. The best guitar I’ve ever purchased personally and I have a couple American Stratocaster telecasters, but that thing is just phenomenal.
I have one as well. Paid 800 on reverb back in 2017. Mint. What a beast. Currently my main axe plus an American strat as well. Paid 900 for that brand spanking new
I’ve got one also(Kotzen Tele). Absolutely love it! Thought about buying another one so when one is off to be setup I’ll still have one. lol. I’ve had a bunch of other Teles and none have compared. I put a Lindy Fralin pickup in the bridge just to make it closer to standard Tele.
I have a Fender, a Charvel, a Kiesel, and an Andy Wood Suhr- red with gold pickguard. Holding the Suhr as we speak. Got a Rick Beato signature on the way because everybody needs a P90 guitar, but after that will be a Suhr Modern. Suhrs rock!
"Foolishness"?! Come on, man, your top notch technique denotes your passion, effort and dedication to the guitar. A person can be tasteful playing fast - example: Paganini. D. Huff and Lukather are two of my favourite electric guitarists. They both sing well too! Kudos to you, Andy.
Andy, You ever try "Scumback Speakers"?…. Dude! They Have a VH 80's Speaker BM75/65wt/16ohm That will make you stand up and beg for butter milk, lol…. There's something ultra Pro/tone about the Paper in those Cone's…. A cut above my previous Celestion's (EVH & Lynchback) indeed !
Hi, do you have "Bright" and maybe even "Cut" switch On on the amp ideal page here? I had to enable those switches to match the sound, just wanna be sure :)
When discussing the cost of the Suhr guitars, you left out the cost of doing business in CA. and paying your employees a wage that will keep them there.
I just want to chime in on what makes a guitar great or worth more than 3k? IMO I disagree with anyone who try to make people believe that fret work on a production guitar makes it worth 5 grand, because that’s part of it, but IMO if you’re going to pay more than 3k for any guitar, why not look into getting a guitar built to your exact specs? Anything dealing with taste and opinions is all subjective anyway, but if you’re going to spend the big bucks, get it built to your specifications by people you trust, because have you ever heard a song and said that sounds like a Suhr, or a Anderson? No, it either sounds good, or it doesn’t, quit trying to buy what you favorite players play, and buy what works for you, there is no wrong or right answer, if it sounds good and plays good to you, it is good! Period! Hendrix, Stevie Ray, and Blackmore all played $600 Strats, and people are still to this day trying to mimic those tones! Stop the madness! Peace! Rock on! 😋
3k isn’t crazy if it’s worth it. Van Halen started his career on a homemade guitar, but when he was huge he played music man, then ended his career with his own line of instruments that reached into the thousands. If you don’t think it’s worth it don’t play em, for me it is 100 percent worth it. Guitar is difficult enough as it is, I don’t need an instrument to fight me. I need something that’s gonna assist me. $3k is a small price for a precision instrument. Look at violins, cellos, acoustic instruments, they can reach into the hundreds of thousands.
@@andywoodmusic I get it Andy, but hand made guitars are naturally going to be more expensive than production guitars made by machines, I own 3k to 4k guitars, but I paid Smitty Custom guitars and LSL instruments to make me what I wanted. But I also love all my less expensive guitars for different reasons, we are living in a great time to be guitarist because a great guitar can be had now for less than 2k IMO and I find the amp is way more important for absolute tone. But like I said, no wrong or right answer, just do your homework, and don’t buy a guitar based on what someone else priorities and specs and needs
You are absolutely incredible Andy. You are in my top three at the moment along with Morse and Johnson, and have the best guitar channel IMO. I love watching your livestreams.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
First of all! Your playing is absolutely awesome, but dont slap for my next point 😅 You should skip the Axe, and set up at least a wet/dry setup, or a wet/dry/wet setup with real Amps...
Andy youre a killer guitarist. Celebrate your channel.
🤘😎🔥🤛👊
I would love to hear you do more Huff stuff from Giant's first album. I hope you really do I'm A Believer.
Andy I’m sure many people agree with me your playing is amazing amazing feel

Hey, Andy. Your noodling sounds like butter, lol. Sounds great.
Pumped to see the HSS Suhr Strat! I hope it has some series/parallel switches and a mid boost.

In a quick glance I thought you bought a maid in Japan. Gratz on a cool guitar.

Always inspiring and great info bro! Incredible playing!
SO GOOD Andy! Thanks for this.
Yep, agreed, my Luke 3’s are amazing guitars, the necks are unbelievable.
would love to hear you give a treatise on Vibrato, excellent content as always!
3 of the greats on the woodshed

+1 on that, I just picked up my first Scumback M75 100 watt version for a 1x12 and it does that too.
Didn't see on your site where you can sign up for newsletter. Looked around and wasn't obvious.
It's as if Dann Huff put Steve Morse & Jeff Beck into a blender to make a new flavor smoothie
What Fractal Amp model are you using? Friedman ?? amazing tone

I sure did. And those are factors and every state has different legislations and costs of livings that need to be addressed in operating cost.
