@@Pete717 I went down to Virginia to pick it up. I had a blast driving it back to NY. Everyone got out of my way and people were afraid to pass me. It was getting kind of annoying because I was doing the speed limit and holding up all the traffic. LOL One time I had to pull off and just let all the traffic pass. It was fun, but after a while it got annoying.
Pete717, Have you tried swapping out the radio yet. I was looking to replace the whole center with a 8" screened radio, was hoping to find a vid with this done.

Great video, I was just about to embark on this task and its good to see the steps worked out. To add, I plan to 3d print an insert to replace the floor shifter space.

I always got state police cars, they don't have partitions.
That old gear shift hole there could be used if you can find a cup as change holder.
I have a 2013 and this video helped out a great deal!

Do you have the wiring diagram to that centre console harness plug?
Pete, I enjoy your videos. I’m about to install a similar console, and I have a couple of questions, if you have the time:
1. When you removed the old metal wiring tunnel (aft of the console), did you just leave the existing wires exposed along the center hump between the console and the rear seat? If so, why? (I assume you didn’t want to disable anything important by cutting wires, and/or didn’t want to re-route along the door sill?) If the wires did remain, did you ever do anything to protect the wires from unintentional damage?
2. I see in a recent comment that you never hooked up the ambient lighting for the rear foot wells. Did you find it too difficult to tap into an interior lighting circuit from the dash harnesses?

1. yes wire to the back stays open but its very short run, no issue, remove all metal brackets.
2. no, i did not find way for ambient lights to work
Hey, I haven't put my console in yet and I was also wondering the same... Will it squish the wires that are going along the hump to the back seats? Did you leave the plastic tube exposed?

Sure would be great to find a video of how to fix the parking lights on these interceptors. Recently got one and the parking lights have us stumped. Any help would be great. Love these cars! Keep the videos coming!

How do you install the park assist button?
Any idea if the spot lights are legal in PA? I have a utility with spotlight and some antennas I was told it was illegal...I can't see how. Nice car!
Spotlights are OK in any state, no issue there.
I heard the antennas are illegal up in Ontario

they are all same console, you can fit any console from 2010-2020 dont matter what trim

i purchased a factory cup holder from ford, modified it to replace the shifter location and painted the drive selector ring. left it column shift. hate the gap, but Im about to fix that with a dash bezel kit fro Scosche.
Do you have pictures and part number I would like to do the same.

As for the gap, If you are talking about the one directly underneath the radio bezel, another option is to replace the PIS bezel with one from a base-model Taurus SE. Look for them on eBay, or your local junkyard if you are lucky. This does two things to make a cleaner install: first, the bezel from the SE is a little longer, which perfectly fills in the gap. Second, the new bezel gives the console trim pieces (the ones with the trunk button and ignition key hole) the “vertical” slot to mount, instead of the old bezel’s horizontal slots. This eliminates the need to cut out the “cross” as Pete717 had to do in this video.
**If anyone decides to go this route, just make sure the fan speed and temp control knobs on the new bezel are identical to your old ones. Some look similar, but they are set up for controlling two-zone temperatures, and the knob on the right will say “PASS TEMP” on it. I don’t think that option would work correctly on a PIS.

ebay or local junk yard, $200 should get you good shape console 2013-2018

That card in the console was the navigation sd card.
Hey I just got my center console for my Taurus, one thing I noticed mounted on the floor was a restraints control module, did your console mount on top of it because my console seems to sit a bit higher sitting on top of that module
Console will go right over it, let me know if you have anymore questions

Pete717 Yes worked fine, I was only able to bolt it to the dashboard, the holes on the back of the console don’t line up with the hole on the floor, I might need a bracket for the floor that lines up with holes on the console but the console doesn’t move at all, it’s pretty sturdy
@@original_silverdee In order to properly secure the console to the floor, you need to first install 3 brackets. I could not find them on eBay, so I had to order them from a Ford dealer. All 3 cost me a total of $70.

Pete717, I have a question, Would you by any chance know why, if the dash on the Ford interceptor has not changed since 2013 compared with a 2015 they look the same, Why do they say that the floor console is not compatible? What is your thought since you have dealt with this replacement idea. Thanks
Mid 2013-2018 same dash, same center console, I install multiple center consoles all different age and 2013 and up will be same, sometime they say not compatible because like limited model has extra features vs basic, so they are thinking of electrical compatibility but mechanically same.

Hey man, I'm interested in buying one of these it's a 2010, it has an electric problem all the buttons don't work and the heat is blowing can't turn it or off or use any radio buttons. Do you think it's something that I could take care of easily. thanks

One more question, how did the wiring diagram work for you, are all cigarette lighters and USB ports working? That’s my next step
I only got cigarette lighters working, just get voltmeter, touch one contact on the lighter and then keep trying connectors on the plug once you get them all pined out, use power from one of the cigarette lighter car has at the dash near the center console.

Pete717 Well to let you know that didn’t work for me, I ended taking the center console out removed the factory wire harness and rewired it for the two cigarette lighters and usb connections.

Homero A Ferreyra well the original harness from the car was cut somewhere in the car, I couldn’t find it, now under the dash there were two plugs, one was a six pin with three hot and three ground and the other I believe is a sixteen pin, some hot some grounds and hot with the ignition on, and they sell plugs with pigtails so you can connect them, it was much easier rewiring the console then to trace where every wire is going.
What if i wanna bring down the gear shifter to the center console?
Needs a whole new steering column, and the electric power steering is a hassle. Id leave it be

I did not look in to that, but I am sure you can add a anchor, go to junk yard and take one from any taurus I guess?

I'm curious if the wiring for the rear heated seats are already there or if that's a whole different harness? I know sometimes car makers run the wires but dont install switches

I would love to get an ecoboost FPIS because it's like a SHO but Its about half the price and it's a cop car. It's also got a standard radio and not some fancy infotainment thing that imma get distracted by and wrap my car around a tree.

you need to get center console with shifting handle and mechanism, cables that go to steering column shifter are same cables that should be going to console shifter.

I'd just do a bench seat up front, nice to have a column shifter most cars no longer give you that option anymore. Yours would be rare then dude! Nice center seat for a hot wife or girlfriend to sit and cuddle with you while driving .
