I'm feeling a bit down this week and I can't even express how much I've been waiting for literally ANY content of yours. Always helps me with anxiety! Thank you!❤
I love that you have your own habits and rhythm with reading and show them in their variety, such as through re-reading sections and including articles! It demonstrates a true & authentic pleasure of reading :) not just to get through a TBR or mark something as read.
Yes, this was great. I loved that you included all of the articles you read as well. I’ve been trying (and I think succeeding) to include more reading throughout my day. As an avid reader with a boring office job, taking 10-15 minutes every hour or two helps me focus on the boring stuff in between.
I am not getting any time to read anything these days, because my exams are near, and everything has been so rushed and busy. This video really reminded me to think about how much I really need to take out some time for reading. Loved it 🤎
I love reading sporadically. It’s more fun and variety reading is my favourite. It’s more fun. I love all the books you are reading. The “Time Travelling with a Hamster” Sounds so sweet. I also love the dress that your mom gave you. It’s absolutely lovely!
You can always snap a pic of the page with the passage or phrase that strikes you, if you don't have a pen and paper handy, so that when you do get settled you can go back and jot it down in the journal. I did this with Bertrand Russell's "A History of Western Philosophy".
I haven’t watched the entire video yet, but I just know it’s gonna be amazing! I just got the news that I was accepted into my first choice college, and I came here immediately to celebrate 💗
This was compelling and I recognise and relate to your varied reading habits and approaches. How you typically re-read is such a practical suggestion. I am determined to find Katherine May's 'Wintering' which has had so many excellent reviews. Yes, please repeat this week-long format...it's wonderful.🥰
this is amazing motivation, ruby!! well obv i won t read as much as you anytime soon since i m a film student and i also gotta watch a lot of movies, but it still inspires me! and also if i think about it, i actually do read quite some for uni! it s just a lot of film related stuff haha, like history and theory
Can you please not accelerate your videos Ruby? I really enjoy slow videos in the mornings and evenings, especially your ones as they’re so peaceful and soothing. I did noticed that you must have accelerated them recently as 1.0 speed still feels a bit fast now?!
I love the dress your mom gave you! It really flatters you. I find it interesting that you read several books at a time, rather than reading them sequentially. I don’t know if you have said this before, but I am wondering where you find the books you decide to read, and what makes you decide to read any given book. You make them all sound so fascinating and enjoyable, and I have to admit I have never heard of many of them (not the classics, obviously). Love your videos so much! Thanks for letting us into your life.
Hey Ruby! Your reading vlog was so cozy! As a video editor, I loved how you captured those peaceful cafe moments with your books. The way you filmed that scene with "Wintering" and your tea was just perfect! Would love to help edit your content if you're ever looking for an editor. Keep sharing these beautiful reading moments! 📚✨
My god Ruby you really do inspire me a lot to read different genres of books and not only novels so I really love your videos and personality ❤❤❤❤ Quick questions though where do you read these articles ?
i remember feeling like i was always the one fading into the background while others stood out effortlessly. it was frustrating and made me doubt myself a lot. then i came across this book, Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and it showed me things i’d never even considered. it’s not just a self-help book; it’s like a guide to understanding your own energy and using it to connect with people. if you’ve ever felt like you’re not seen, this book might change everything.
one night i was scrolling through my phone, feeling like i’d never figure out why some people just seem so magnetic. then i came across this book, Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and something about it caught my attention. reading it was like turning on a light in a dark room. it’s not about pretending to be someone you’re not; it’s about unlocking the energy you already have. trust me, this book is worth every page
there was a time when i kept wondering why some people seemed to naturally draw others in while i was just…there. no matter what i tried, i couldn’t figure out how they did it. then someone mentioned the book Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and i decided to check it out. the way it explains how your aura affects everything around you? it blew me away. it’s like having a secret code to unlock your magnetic energy. this book is a game-changer.
It’s not sporadic, it’s very varied. This I love - reading widely over a week with one or two main books on the go. Similar to how I read. Lovely ❤ yes please more reading over a week vlogs please, way better than reading over a day 😊
i used to think being magnetic was just about looks or confidence, but i couldn’t have been more wrong. i read this book called Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and it totally changed my perspective. it breaks down the energy and mindset behind true attraction in a way that just makes sense. once i started applying what it taught, i noticed people reacting to me differently almost instantly. it’s seriously worth a read.
I belong to a book club which meets every month. Sometimes it is so difficult to read the books if you are not into them. I have little self discipline when it comes to reading something I don;t like! I can only read one book at a time too! The advantage of a book club is that we read books I would never personally have chosen and I have enjoyed many of them. I have noted the Joan Didion article as we read one of her books recently. I am thinking of leaving the book club after 15 years as I have so many books I want to read! Happy reading!
You have mentioned something about your top twenty favorite books ever, how amazing it would be if you told us which books are these 😊 thanks so much for your videos!!!
i remember this one time i felt like no matter what i did, people just didn’t notice me. i tried everything-confidence boosters, social tips, you name it-but nothing seemed to work. then i found this book, Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and it completely shifted how i saw myself. it’s not just about being noticed; it’s about understanding the energy you project. honestly, this book made all the difference for me. if you’ve ever felt invisible, you need to read it.
The problem with these book videos is that they always increase my now I've got to read that too, along with the rest of my endless to be read list. Which, then again, maybe not such a bad problem to have after all.
I hope you tell us more about your impressions of the Adolescent, I'm currently reading it as well, I'm almost done. But I really struggled getting into it, I don't think Russian literature is for me, the same happened to me while reading Tolstoi 😅
Hi there! Just finished Jonathon Strange and Mr. Norrell on your recommendation and I absolutely loved it, so thank you! I was thinking that you might enjoy A Winter Walk my Henry David Thoreau (speaking of wintering). Happy reading!
Ruby! I want to start reading more articles, and add interesting stuff to my commonplace book! Do you have any recommendations on where to look for some interesting ones? Thanks!
Well, this is subjective to a great extent. It depends on what your favourite subject matters are.. whether you prefer reading about literature or science etc
Is that a video controller your Mom has in the car? Or an emergency steering wheel ? Im Canadian and have not seen this before. Love this video, you’re so talented Ruby.
Katherine May is autistic and the novel is about her autistic experience, too. Seems to be a theme lately, as you just read Elle McNicoll's Keedie and Anne of Green Gables (who's definitely undiagnosed autistic)! 😍
Hi Ruby! I really want to start reading more articles about literature and different topics, but I don't really have a clue where to start! Where do you find all the articles you want to read?
i swear, every time i scrolled through youtube, someone was talking about this book. at first, i thought it was just overhyped, but then even my friend mentioned it, so i had to check it out. Magnetic Aura by takeshi mizuki wasn’t easy to find, but man, it was worth the search. in just a couple of weeks, i’ve seen huge shifts-people treat me differently, my confidence is on another level, and things in my life finally feel like they’re falling into place
I'm feeling a bit down this week and I can't even express how much I've been waiting for literally ANY content of yours. Always helps me with anxiety! Thank you!❤
I feel the SAME. Hugs
Same, so glad that i am not alone in this. So thankful for her videos

Agree! I'm more Ruby's mums age but adore these videos!❤
Please make more videos like this one. Love this type of video from you. It’s both inspiring and calming.
I love that you have your own habits and rhythm with reading and show them in their variety, such as through re-reading sections and including articles! It demonstrates a true & authentic pleasure of reading :) not just to get through a TBR or mark something as read.
Omgg Rubys vlogs are so therapeutic and calm I love them !!
I cannot overstate how much I am LOVING all the reading content!!!! This is so fun! Thank you Ruby!!!
I love your reading vlogs so much!! The way you engage with literature is so beautiful and the atmosphere in your videos is so cosy ⭐❄
Yes, this was great. I loved that you included all of the articles you read as well. I’ve been trying (and I think succeeding) to include more reading throughout my day. As an avid reader with a boring office job, taking 10-15 minutes every hour or two helps me focus on the boring stuff in between.
So you are not doing your job for 1/4 of the day? You should probably be fired

Seeing Lola always puts a smile on my face 🥰.

Not long finished Wintering and loved it too.
I haven’t watched the entire video yet, but I just know it’s gonna be amazing! I just got the news that I was accepted into my first choice college, and I came here immediately to celebrate 💗
I adore how cozy your videos are❤️ Since I’m pretty new to your channel I’m slowly working my way through all of them😊
This was compelling and I recognise and relate to your varied reading habits and approaches. How you typically re-read is such a practical suggestion. I love this format of video! It's always a good day when Ruby uploads a new video 😊
All those bookish videos are so appreciated, and would love to watch more ❤
I really enjoy your week in my life video, chatting about what you've read and stuff ❤
I’ve been in such a slump lately with reading so this was a refreshing find. I am going to start reading at breakfast to start my day 😊
Your mom’s dress looks soooo cute on you! Vintage is the best❤
you must be such a fast reader to get through as many pages as quickly as you do. amazing!
this is amazing motivation, ruby!! well obv i won t read as much as you anytime soon since i m a film student and i also gotta watch a lot of movies, but it still inspires me!

Wintering is such a good read!
This is now my favourite video of yours! Please do more of them :).
I definitely recommend “The Freedom Writers Diary” if you’re enjoying teachers! 7:27

What kind of notes do you take for‘independent learning’? At your suggestion I have started using Notion. Love it.
What is your job?
Love the dress!
inspired by your vlogs 💟 + lots of best wishes to you
I loved this video. I would definitely watch more weekly reading vlogs of this style.

@Ruby I’ve loved this vlog ❤❤❤❤❤loved it. So glad I am not the only one reading multiple books at same time without being crazy 😅
Wish I could read as many books like you. I find I read for a while then it makes me sleepy 😴 maybe it relaxes me too much 📚
This video was so cool, so inspiring and so beautiful 💞
You have mentioned something about your top twenty favorite books ever, how amazing it would be if you told us which books are these 😊 thanks so much for your videos!!!

The Plato's Cave and social media article sounds very insightful...
I read like you do in often, having several books that I am reading at a time.

Love your content ❤️ I was wondering if you could do a video of your book recommendations for people who want to get back into reading ?
Loved this, been getting withdrawal symptoms waiting to hear from you ! X
I love this. Thank you!

Just curious- why haven’t you wanted to learn to drive? Love your videos.
That chocolate cake looks nice ❤
This was a great view. Not sure how to put it other then that. Very interesting :).
As an American I’ve been feeling scared and down this week. Ty for continuing to make such cozy content !
I love Margaret Atwood and have read Cat's Eye among many others of hers, but the Blind Assassin is my all-time favorite of hers! I highly recommend.
I hope you tell us more about your impressions of the Adolescent, I'm currently reading it as well, I'm almost done. But I really struggled getting into it, I don't think Russian literature is for me, the same happened to me while reading Tolstoi 😅
That dress is beautiful on you love your videos ❤
Ruby, I am always interested in the books which you are reading. It is quite interesting.
I love your reading videos! I love most of your videos, actually, but the reading ones provide information about books.
Hi there! Just finished Jonathon Strange and Mr. Norrell on your recommendation and I absolutely loved it, so thank you! I was thinking that you might enjoy A Winter Walk my Henry David Thoreau (speaking of wintering). Happy reading!
Loved this 🌸

Hey Ruby - is Lola an Airedale terrier? She is so sweet x😊
I’m having a slower reading year as I am wading my way through War and Peace. It’s actually really good but 1358 pages is a big book! 📖
I've never been able to read whilst in a car, makes me feel quite queasy
Katherine May is autistic and the novel is about her autistic experience, too. Seems to be a theme lately, as you just read Elle McNicoll's Keedie and Anne of Green Gables (who's definitely undiagnosed autistic)! 😍
