Hi Huck just wanted to say that I love your channel and it's always great to hear about your thoughts on books and reading. Also I'm excited to know more about your deeper foray into the world of sci-fi! Take care! Love from Sweden
What a wonderful haul! I already read Amina and was pleasantly surprised! It's a bit more plot-driven and action-packed than I was expecting, but Amina is such a great MC that I was just fully on-board for all the wild adventures. Really different tone than Daevabad, but I liked that! Curious to hear your thoughts. I have also been eyeing The Terraformers, I really like the premise! And same for The Wolf Den!! The Brothers Gwynne did an amazing review of that one on their channel, I was immediately sold. Talking about Gwynne, I think The Shadow of the Gods will be a hit for you. We tend to have very similar tastes in books and I thought that story was very compelling, especially Orka's storyline! Enjoy all the beautiful new books 🤩
Oooo I'm intrigued by Four Queens. I love historical nonfiction! I've read The Wolf Den, it was very readable but I didn't end up continuing with the series. And YES, it is so frustrating when graphic novels have a cover that isn't reflective of actual content. Or when the cover is in full color but the graphic novel is in black and white. I totally agree
@@badgerreads So, I'm not the biggest series person in general… honestly that’s probably the biggest reason, but I also felt like there was a bit of a missed opportunity on having really intense power dynamics between certain characters (the main character and her owner, in particular). But I did really like how the author incorporated the “dirty” aspects of life in Pompei - how do you get water, go to the bathroom, etc. It is very readable, but ya, definitely trigger warnings for like, all the abuses…
not sure about this book specifically, but I know that the Amina's Voice series pronounces the name AH-min-uh, like you did! yay, hope you have a good time with Chalice! I do feel like you could enjoy the nature magic vibes! the look you give Revelator after reading the synopsis 🤣 I don't blame you lol I loved the first volume of Sleepless and have been meaning to pick up the second!
Double commenting to say that I read Witch Hat Atelier and really liked it! It has a unique magic system and the artwork is so beautiful. Not all the volumes blow me away in terms of plot or characters but the incredible art always makes up for it (not to say that the plot/characters are bad, just not always a full 5 stars worthy imo).
Ghost Daddy omg hahahahaahah😂😂 I can’t wait to hear what’s up with that! Who knows, it might be a great book.
😂

I didn't realize Chalice had nature magic! Exciting!
i’m usually not one for historical fiction but the wolf den sounds very intriguing
Doesn't it?! I hope it's as good as it sounds :)
