Steve, you need a force feedback seat that tosses you about when there's contact culminating, ultimately, in a concussion once the barrier is hit but it would really add to the immersion.

Daily Races should employ more grid starts to make the grid more varied. You could have an exceptional lap time, but if the car sucks at standing starts your lap wont matter in the slightest
I’ll vouch for grid starts on circuits where drivers who have qualified towards the back end up having their race start before the final corner when doing a rolling start.

And just a tip for the anyone like me who is just starting with Sport mode-- don't worry so much about the meta and find a couple of cars you feel confident with and stick to them (one MR and one FR). At Steve's level of play, every tenth matters, but at lesser levels of play (like I play at) just focus on being consistent you'll do alright.
100% I agree. I'm not very good so I'm mostly in C lobbies (sometimes B) and I'm actually amused that people think the Meta Car will help them at this level

You could be killing the corners with the Ferrari but then get taken on the straights every time by the Mazda. And on a track like Monza same thing can happen since it’s not a very balanced track. With that said, use the car you like. Tired of one model races!!

As long as the race replay was saved, it will take a bit of editing work but it can be done. The only downside is that it can overcomplicate the viewing experience

First race,. lap 7, had you considered the differences of lap times from those cars behind who had already pitted which you'd be in amongst after you exited the pits after your stop? If not, then, well, you should. Don't worry about those in front of you who had already pitted, those don't matter.
Yes of course I consider that - in fact in this type of race it's pretty much the most important thing to consider. At that moment of the race, I was being towed along nicely by the Evo so it made sense to continue and pit right at the end.

I've noticed the sportmanship rating has been affected too, in both a good and bad way. Nobody should be penalized for someone else turning into or break checking you. I love not setting a lap time and working my way up from the back and quickly noticed my sr rating drop from S to B.

What gran turismo is doing now is too little too late. I moved on to Le Mans ultimate because their penalty system seems way more fair than GT7. I also never liked how in the LMP races, the races was mixed, LMP1 with group C cars and that really sucked. But anyway, props to those that still play gran turismo.
I'm kinda new to GT as I got into it from GT7 just a few months ago, and I definitely find the MP to be much more fun than whatever the "races" in the single player campaign are, but I never found the BoP to be that off (at least at the time I got into the game), bt what I do find annoying as hell are the penalties, which just feel unfait like 60% of the time, SPECIALLY on Grand Valley
Im a fan of the Lan Evo and drive it much of the time but do try other cars frequently. I find that the Evo struggles in straight line speed, is decent in cornering, although the AWD mechanics make the rear want to slide out quite easily. I haven't played much recently but excited to see the changes in the cars. Last year it was everyone in a 911, lately its been everyone in an R8. Simply put balance needs to make up for differences in performances, but even in real world conditions some cars are just better in some aspects.
The Evo here is not an AWD car, but an RWD car including all those cars in the group, especially WRX STi. Edit: Unless you're talking about the Gr.4 car.
What if there was a daily race where the track was randomized everytime? That way we would see much more diversity of vehicles, whether people want to drive high grip low power cars or the reverse. And people wouldn't be able to pick the best car for the track everytime.

The race rules mandated a pit stop to be made at some point during the race. Since tire wear wasn’t a meaningful factor to car performance, this let the drivers choose when to pit at any point in the race. Pitting at the end of the race when the field is strung out will lose you fewer positions and less overall time vs. pitting early, fighting back through the field, and losing the slipstream of a car in front of you. Ex. In the 5th place race, he came out 2.5 seconds in front of 6th. If he had pit in the beginning by himself and lost the tow (assuming .5 sec/lap) then by lap 10 he’d have lost about…. 4? seconds? Complicated to say with having to consider when other people pit and come out in front. Overall plausible that he could have lost the 2.5s of total race time by pitting earlier, leaving him at a lower position at the end.

What is the reasoning between people pitting after the 1st lap here? A way to minimize traffic as fuel and tyre wear strategy doesn't really matter here?
Don't think even the best of the best from the world tour can escape 7 Taylor Swifts with the upside down pentagram. Quite a cursed combo for any race.

the driver rated D races just don't offer the same driver courtesy you top drivers get. its like banger racing, I'm getting so p....d off with it. start around third on the grid and at the first chicane everyone behind just wants to pile in from behind
If I was pro level racer fighting for pole position i'd probably also spin off from dieing of laughter when I realised an army of taylor swifts called scotch egg were up my bum looking for the overtake tbf

If you stay off the yellow part of the turns you'll get better lap times. Every time you run over them the upset the car and slow you down.
