This musical release from the Philadelphia based soul group The Stylistics captures a live performance by the collective, recorded in Norfolk, Virginia in 2005. I have been listening to this all week in 2023! The choreography, the two steps, the hand expressions, Herb Murrell's fantastic remarks--(-he is the coolest 74 year on the planet) in that deep voice..And Eban was just perfect in every way!..Not to take anything away from Van Fields and Arrion Love..(.Why did;t they sing You make me feel brand new?. The best concert on You Tube! FORGOT TO SAY THAT THE BAND WAS TERRIFIC. THEIR ARRANGEMENTS ON THE SYNTHESIZERS , GUITARS, AND DRUMS. FAR SURPASSED THE ORIGINAL RECORDING. WOW!
I watched another version of that show which ran 57 minutes instead of 40?And there were 3 additiional songs, concluding with "Brand New". (by John 1948)-posted.
On behalf of the stylistics first and foremost and my band mates. Keith on Bass, Jim on guitar, Harvey on keys Gino on keys Teddy RIP on keys and our sound engineer Charles, Terrance, Lights and my self Emanuel White Jr E-man Drums. We thank you all this is special like many but also sad I was loosing my Mother during this time in witch I decade my playing this show to her. She pass very shortly after this show. Drummer boy ❤

THE GREATEST ERA OF MUSIC
Russell magnificently started it all, but Eban did some things tat blow Russell out of the water and he's a better on stage performer. Kudos to Russell for starting it and to Eban for enhancing and taking it further!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻
Eban definitely has an awesome stage presence love the way he sounds and I still love Russell Tompkins Jr I think Russell's band members sound better Eban Browns band members

Missing the Stylistics! Their a smoothness, their exquisite style of dressing, their beautiful harmony, their wonderful band, their touching ❤️ love songs, and unique dance moves. Eban Brown, Herb Murrell, Arrion Love, and Van Fields make a great team! I love listening 2 them! Eban's voice was a great replacement 4 the original leader Russell Thompkins, Jr. I cud listen 2 Eban sing all nite! Sweet voice, sweet personality as well! Herb with his smooth, sexxy speaking voice just soothes my soul! Oooh and Arrion with his part on You Make Me Feel Brand New is so touching! Do it Stylistics, again and again and over again! Eban has a voice that just makes me melt when he sings! Herb's deep sexxxy voice makes us ladies appreciate this swave debonair smooth gentleman. I love love love The incomparable Stylistics!! BAND MEMBERS HAVE THEIR TIME TOGETHER AND PEOPLE GET OLDER AND GROW APART !!! WE HAVE CD , DVD , LASERDISC TECHNOLOGY TO "STOP , LOOK , LISTEN " AND REMEMBER JUST HOW GOOD IT WAS !!!! GOD BLESS THEM ALL AND THE ONES BEFORE THEM , ONLY IN AMERICA !!!!
Russell Thompkins Jr is still making sound checks. He has has Russell Thompkins jr and new Stylistics last 19 years touring concerts' TV appearances....the REAL deal and singer of every song from 1968 to 2000. Find him on you tube for the real singer of all the hit songs. Find his full concert in Houston.76 minutes long. Video picture has him from waist up in white suit. Fantastic concert. T h e real deal.

I SAW EBAN AND THE STYLISTICS AGAIN IN 2003 , 2005
@@antoniohosino145 you are saying the truth. Eddie Kendricks talked Russell out of leaving the group because of jealousy fighting shunning Russell. They wouldn't talk to him at all. Eddie told him he couldn't leave because too many people depended on him. So he stayed 10 more years. Fact: writer'/ producer Thom Bell & Linda Creed wrote the songs for Russell. Thom loved Russell's voice but not the sound of 3 of the others. Russell would not leave the 4 high and dry ...so he met with writers', went over songs' , practiced and spent time recording. ALONE. For first few years. 3 albums..and 10 of 12 straight top hits. When Russell wouldn't leave them, Bell went to write for Spinners. The hit songs were not coming from new and various writers. Disco came. Stylistics toured overseas where their music was still hot. Russell sang every song until 1999.and Left. Then the 2 that remained hired Eban to mimick IMMITATE Russell and they travel singing the songs Russell recorded and made famous. Stabbed him in the back. Touring singing the 12 songs and songs from first 3 albums none of them sang on. EXCEPT airion who sang a duo lead on 2 songs that Russell asked Thom to write so Airion could sing on record. He made the money but made sure it was split 5 ways. He carried them. A pretty big heart guy. They treated him badly I hear. Bad deal.

Does anyone know the members of their orchestra? Excellent musicians and arranged just-so! Much better than on the original recordings.
Ok! that's what it's called! Anyway it was just so original .The choreography alone is worth watching. It's kind of like dancing, but not dancing....just evoking musical emotions through ..movements???? And that orchestra was terrific.....oops. I already said that above. THE STYLE ORCHESTRA...wonder if they are still together in 2023? Please let me know if you see them performing ,maybe with some other groups.

Only Eban Brown could come close to Russell Thompkins..(who is legendary ) but Eban's falsetto kind of grows on you.
2023--And now he has left the group! DARN! Yes, everyone has the right to grow...just hope Eban will find solo success.( His regular voice, by the way, is quite soothing and sweet also. "Exit 15" by Eban Brown..)
Take some doing to follow in the footsteps of Russell they are some big shoes to fill that is for sure
Eban really represented 4 Lead Singer of the Stylistics for nearly 20 years and sounded excellent following the original Lead Singer, the fabulous Russell Thompkins, Jr. People are still asking 4 Eban 2 return 2 the Stylistics original background Vocalists 4 a Reunion tour. That tells u how well he did following the original Lead Singer.
Love the way they compliment each other's vocals! Eban truly makes love to his music therefore delivering such smooth vocals. Love this group!

He was the Stylistics. Now 2 of them tour with a hired Russell impersonator singing the songs he alone made famous...and call rgem theirs. You speak truth.

Yes, Arrion is still hanging in there,but his voice has lost its power. Still tryin' though. Is best when he is part of the ensemble group, not singing a lead role.

Brown as a lead vocalist comes 99.5 % to the original. The main difference is that Eban Brown is a more polished, right on cue with those smooth moves. Along with Herb Murrell's comments, they come to 100% better of a performance.
