are these good/actually helpful? these look so much better than what ive been provided and i really wanna bump uo my grade, but i dont have great resources lol
Thank you so much for listening to my request! I really appreciate that you have made this video, I’m starting my exam sketchbook when I go back to school in January and, although it’s my favourite subject and I love it so much, it can be difficult to think of what to write about my pieces! Thank you so much Maisie! xx
Omg I just saw your video and your artist research pages are WAYY more detailed than mine. I’m in year 11 and my teacher hasn’t really taught us how to write artist research so I’ve been writing wafer thin paragraphs and now comparing yours to mine I’m panicking because we just started the external exam prep.
I'm in year 9 and in my school we start our GCSE courses earlier so I started it this year. Because of the current situations I'm a bit anxious but this video was really helpful thanks! ❤️
my art teacher just told the class “make sure you waffle. the examiners love waffling, tell them why you used that colour, why you used the media, what you liked and what youd do better next time, as long as it makes sense just waffle” 👍
THANK YOU FOR THIS! I used to have quite a chill art teacher who expected good annotations and nothing too crazy. But then i suddenly got a new teacher and her annotation standards are A LOT higher so i stressed out a lot. This will definitely help with with them!
i love your gcse art videos! they are so helpful / inspiring! art is one of my favourite subjects, i’m in year 9 and i can’t wait to start my gcse course next year! you are so amazing tysm for the advice💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
Thanks so much this was so helpful. I'm doing A level art and I still struggle with art annotation because I was never properly taught how do them. You've literally saved my life
So useful. My daughter in year 10 has a rubbish teacher, she doesn't tell them what they should be doing, hasn't taught them anything and last week said 70% didn't pass last year, shocking. So thank you for helping by doing this.
You have no idea how helpful this oh my god! My art teacher speaks pretty much the entire lesson but seems to say nothing at all 😭😭 i honestly had no idea how to lay out my book or how to do art studies I was so confused
thank you for your tips it has helped me a lot of what to write for my research and annotations! as in year 10 starting corse work of art thank you so much!
This is so helpful because my teacher just gave us the title for year and just told us to get pictures and get on witb our work... i didnt even know what to put in my sketchbook!
Thank you so much for this video! This is great help for me since I will be starting my art after the summer holiday and once I will be back at school. I actually got a predicted score of 8 for art in year 7-8 but I'm still super nervous. I'm glad I found this video, I was so confused on how I would do it in general so this really helped ^-^
My art teacher is always grilling us for not writing our essays, especially artist analyses, properly. Somehow I've managed to write them "properly", but it annoys me that he never teaches us *how* to write them.
Hi I'm currently in year 11 and I'm studying an artist who creates layered portraits using shadows and facial structure. I just wanted to know how you edited your photos to look like shepard fairey because the styles of the artworks are similar xxx
I am in yr 9 and my school lets pick options in yr 8 , I am not are what I am predicted bt I have to get top marks in everything and art is getting on my nerves
@@charlottec1108 actually horrible i had to take a picture of every.single.page. Then, i had to retake all the pictures bc i didnt read my teachers instructions properly. This + waiting for all the pictures to download from camera -----> computer took *HOURS* After that there were issues with sending (i sent a link to my teacher which expired about 7 days later aaaand she opened it too late). I re-sent them through email which also lonnnnng. i got there in the end though im literally just happy its over😅
I hate the anotation part am literally doing this shit right now and Tommorws my final day of igcse exam and like idk wth the heck am writing i was never told and stuf in school cuz we didn't had a teacher for two years and now i have to do two years art igcse together to submit to Cambridge shit to act as if we are sone perfect human robot for real i am not so perfect i cant do this anymore 😭 my anntation is shit and messy and am so bad at anotations i wrote ver less am bot gonna do that part anymore its shit
If most of my work has a meaning behind it should we talk a lot about it or only take like one or two lines because my topic is something which has a deeper meaning so I all of my pieces have a lot of writing just in the meaning part of it 😅. I'm not doing gcse I'm doing IGCSE so the annotations would be the same
heyyy! im on my final piece ideas double page spread, with 4 different line drawing ideas. how should i annotate them (lengthily, since i have lots of space to fill it)
our art teacher hasn’t taught us anything about write ups 😂 she expects us to write an A* write up like 🤷🏽♀️
frrr mine hasn't either
Yeah, they always just leave the writing as like a side thing that you can get done by the way
Same!
Literally 😔😔
When youre doing art GCSES 2020 with no Final piece because of corona virus smh
i love writing, my favourite bit in english is writing essays so hopefully when i start art i won’t be dreading annotating my work
i’m predicted a 4 that’s why i’m here 😢😢😢
same bro
yikes
I got a 4 lmaoooo
Same
Art gcse gave me suicidal thoughts

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH -i have 3 months left and im at a 5/6 ur really a big help hopefully i can get a goood grade over allll
Super useful to our students! Annotations can be a stumbling block for so many students!

Really great, useful video! Awesome pointers! Thank you.

I just love your voice and how claming it is
What do you think the ratio for art to Annotations should be in a sketchbook? I fear I'm writing too much - 60% art and 40% writing is what I'm doing
Corey Carter I actually think that’s about right, as long as your writing is relevant and clear I think that ratio is good!
This is so helpful thank you!!
elle wilson thanks for watching xx
My art teacher just doesn’t like me so he gives me lower marks... 😐
They can't actually do that plus it's probs not the teacher so don't blame them xx
Thomas Lloyd it gets regulated by an examiner anyway so they have to be accurate in the end xx
Bruh I’m literally in the same situation :(
@@Rosie9 you prolly just arent good
@@montagez3651 thank u
Thank you so much this helped me alot ❤❤
my teacher tell my whole class what artist we have to research, I didn’t know other people had options :/
Same!
My teacher thought as how to blend and apple in grade 9 and left the rest to us no teaching in drawing or what so ever only an apple 🙂😐
Hi I'm currently in year 11 and I'm studying an artist who creates layered portraits using shadows and facial structure. I just wanted to know how you edited your photos to look like shepard fairey because the styles of the artworks are similar xxx
i’m predicted an 8 but i’m in year 9, i’m a really anxious person and i’m already stressing about it when i haven’t even chosen my options.
me too, except I've only just chosen my options
I am in yr 9 and my school lets pick options in yr 8 , I am not are what I am predicted bt I have to get top marks in everything and art is getting on my nerves
I needed this because i didnt pick art but they had to pick it for me and i tried changing but they said i cant
how would you present a mindmap?
Have to submit my book in 2 days wish me luck🤞

you generally are a life saver, thank you so so much for this video 🥺❤️
How did u do the back ground for the Shepard fairey research
Does anyone have any ideas for artists to use?
Love you
But how do you find artists that match with the work youve done, i dont know any artists 😂
Go onto Pinterest and find the image u like and there should be a website link. From that try and find the artist who created that piece
Dorka 123 14:25 I talk about that there xx
Did you type it up??
do you have to keep one theme through the whole book?
so I done an artist research but it wasn't very detailed so if I done an other one , what would my title be , extended research ( artist name ) ??
beechyplans yep, or further research with the artists name - shows your developing xxx
how many artist responses did u do pls answer x
CiaPlayz I would do one for every artist and I’d do about 5-6 artists in a project depending xx

tbh, GCSE art is not that difficult... it's just time-consuming. (and this is coming from my art teacher btw.)
how long does it take you to do the write ups 😳
What exam board did u do?
ivana I think it was AQA but don’t know for definite as I can’t remember!!
I absolutely fucking hate gcse art now, it’s so damn time consuming.
