Got a 2013 Chevy 1500 z71 with the 5.3. Use it to pull a camper quite often over mountains. Was looking getting this device to get more low end torque. Think this just sealed it. Purchased it.
Had an 07 Sierra 4.8 cut the muffler off ,then a 05 Sierra lly(deleted it),then a 15 Silverado 5.3(ran long tubes and a cat less y pipe and a custom tune , then a 16 Denali lml(deleted it), now a 17 Denali 6.2 stock as of now but got some plans. Absolutely love all your videos. Keep up the great work
I have an 07 model sierra with the 6 liter and I just got my first diesel truck, an 06 LBZ truck... I been working on it for the last week or so trying to get it on the road
I had a 2013 5.3 AFM motor that was locked out with a hypertech tuner and only on stock mode. On regular 87 I was getting 13-14 mpg on stock tires no matter how I drove the truck and the last 90 days I owned it I went through a bad hesitation and shake. After 6 mechanics later none of us could determine the fault due to no codes and all maintenance up to date with only 103k on the motor. I went with the thought of bad fuel and started running 93 premium and saw a mpg jump of 4 mpg after the second tank. Traded the truck in and removed the tuner and that’s when the gremlin struck…. V4 mode lifter failure. Thankfully I bought a bigger truck (3500HD 6.0L) and didn’t have to pull the heads. The 6.0L has only had 3 fill ups of 87 octane since I bought it and to say the least I was getting 9-10 mpg, I went back to 93 octane and jumped to 16-17.5 mpg on an average and running 60 mpr on I-75 the truck monitor says average 23 mpg I’m in no hurry being the truck needs a pitman arm and idler which I have but can’t afford the $1200 labor rate to have it changed thanks to Michigans great roads in Flint. The truck is bone stock on street tires and running factory 4:10’s. I did pull a scan for alcohol content and on 87 it read 23% before switching…. What it is now I’m not sure. All I know is 23% is no good in a motor. I Like the channel and I like the videos! Keep up the posting, thank you for the great content..
Wow that's crazy that higher octane improved the mpg that much. Put headers on it and a straight through muffler and you'll gain another 1-3mpg and it'll run so much better.
There’s a lot of that going on now with the gas so when you pull up to get 93 and the guy before you got 87 you get like a gallon of the 87 because you share the same pump which now I have been seeing upto 15%ethanol
@ Christopher mix Honestly I’m finding stock mufflers actually help vs flowmaster or straight through mufflers. I’m a flowmaster only if I go aftermarket. It’s in the works but steering nightmares are causing delays not to mention I plow snow in the winter and at 3:30 am loud is not something I want lol
@ Bruce Shepard On average I’m using 15-20 gallons a week on 93 octane vs 30+ gallons on 87 octane. When 93 was $5.77 a gallon on a $80.00 test I only pumped 1.2 gallons less in 93 octane vs 87 octane and I’m finding I cannot bump the pump to even dollar amounts or 93 will overflow out of the tank. Honestly the truck runs smoother and has zero hesitation on acceleration, gutless still being it’s got 4:10’s but overall on the long run I’m saving $100 a week in fuel on 93 octane and my average fill up is 90-96$ a week. If I go fishing add another 10 gallons to the week. I was burning close to 230$ a week at $5.12 for 87 octane. Proof in the fuel. I pay almost $1.50 more per gallon but I save 135$ a week
Another great show 👏 👌 👍. Your brother has great looking truck. The cap sets it off. You need to hook him up with a rack and lights for it. My last truck had a 5.3. Great engine. You two need to collaborate more. Alright 👍 good video and looking forward to seeing what's next. I must be getting old. He doesn't look old enough to be retired from the military. 😎👍
Ahh there you go... rub it in !! Good thing I really like your channel... lol. Keep up the great work and content as always. Maybe one day you can talk him into transplanting a 6.6 and 8 speed trans of course with a little Kodiak magic added.. in place of the 5.3... That will spice that truck up.
I have a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 I was wondering if you can share the information on the tuner I would love to get one thank you I love your Channel I love you built
Nice truck 👍 Definitely wouldn't mind a Duramax considered buying one years back, but went with a super clean low mileage 8.1 gas with the Allison wouldn't go back been a great truck. Ended up buying another 8.1 / Allison combo but really don't need both thinking of selling one of them with things being what they are these days.

I drive a 2010 F150 5.4L. Love the truck!! I keep thinking I want a diesel one day, but then think about the added purchase cost, maintenance costs, repair cost and on and on, and realize a gasser makes more sense in the long run. Now if you pick me to win the giveaway, I’ll give it a chance to change my mind. It’s gonna be hard to do with a Chevy, but we’ll see. Lol!
I have a 2011 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L. I just installed the Diablo itune3 and I can tell a little but not +50hp. I did turn off the AFM. Hated that feature. Love the channel and all the trucks. Keep up the good work 👍🏼

This was a cool video man, reminds me of my brother and myself. I didn't serve but my brother is active duty Army SF and has a 4th gen Hemi Ram, I have a 4th gen Cummins Ram. He wants a diesel but the market is insane and he spent a few years building his gasser to where he wanted it
I have a 2008 5.3L silverado and that afm shit has caused me nothing but problems broken valve springs and all kinds of crap I need one of these tuners just for getting rid of the afm
It is not 50hp, or even close to that. I know, I use to sell these tuners. There is not a lot of margin off a tune on a 5.3 to begin with. You would be lucky to get 20 on a 91-93 tune. Only handhelds tunes you are getting that power off of is diesels or turbo charged engines.
The real question is, who beat up on who when you were kids lol. I’ve got a 3.5 ecoboost with the edge cs2 and you can tell quite a difference in stock and performance on it.
I had a vortec 350 in 1992 the engine was out of a 1996 chevy It was a good truck until I blew it up then went to diesel and I will never go back to gas
I'm 17, I have an 87 custom deluxe 10 it's 4wd has a 305 with a small cam and set of headers, then I have a 95 sierra SLE C1500 2wd with the limited slip that has a tbi 350 I'm about to throw on a set of vortec heads and put some flat top pistons in with a bigger cam shooting for 10:1 compression hoping to get around 350-400 horse and then I have an 05 silverado that I bought of a friend of mine it has a 5.3 so I'm putting that motor in the 87 and doing a turbo build I'll eventually hit 1,000 but shooting for 750 until I have the money to do the full 5.3 performance build but I'm putting a 4l80e trans behind it so I should good for a while
Ummm, I want that truck! 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 I had an ‘04 Chevy HD that I put a tuner on. For me, the biggest advantage was being able to change my shift points, being able to hold 65 going up these mountain passes in Idaho while pulling a trailer.
Josh I love the setup but 91 octane.....saving him on fuel....😂👍 knock it down to a 87 octane and data log for him then adjust the AFR parameters and it will be better than that 91 preprogrammed tune. Just my experience with the tuners on gas motors anyway.
I talked myself into trading out of my 2011 GMC 1 Ton SRW and into a new 2019 GMC 1/2 Ton. I hated the gasser since the day I bought it. There was nothing wrong with it, I guess, but after years of driving diesels I was ruined. It just felt small and weak. Two years later I traded it for a used 2017 GMC 3/4 Ton that looks like my old truck's little brother. It's older than the 1/2 ton, has 100,000 more miles and more tech than I like but I'm happy again. I used a Range Technologies unit to prevent the 1/2 Ton from going into V4, first thing I did. They're just $200 and plug into the OBD-II, idiot-proof...I need Ranger proof.
I need some guidance. A year ago I bought my first truck ever and I am still new to the truck world and it’s language. I am looking into a tuner solely to improve my MPG. I do not tow anything I have a 2022 F-350 dually 7.3L V8 gas, is this device good for my ride?

2018 Silverado with the 6.2. Love your videos, might have to get this tuner for my truck. One of the things I worry about with mine is the AFM. Good to know you can shut that off with this tuner.
I have a 2011 Silverado 5.3 with AFM and DoD. 230k+ miles and still going strong. Never been inside the engine. Use quality gasoline and oil, and do your maintenance on schedule. I also add half a can of SeaFoam to my oil about 100 miles before I change it, and add a full can to the fuel tank at the same time. Seems to work for me.
@truckmaster I have a 1999 gmc z71 5.3 and I love it I got the truck for 1200 bucks and she was locked up and I replaced the motor and she gets nasty lol idk if the computer was ever tuned or not because the truck wouldn't alow me to use the pcm that came with the motor but I am overall happy with the truck
What are the best fender flares like on your brother’s 2014 Silverado? Also I just ordered the deablo tuner for the V4 delete and my truck has some kind of cat back exhaust that sounds good but what else can I get just bolt on mods? Thanks Doug

I have an 04 2500HD 6.0L I def wanna get that edge tuner for it now 🤘
Omg bro i had one too. Ext cab long bed called him big blue. I miss the power but my god the gas. 😭
@@diegomanuel5065 that’s awesome man ! Mines extra cab long box to ! Cherry red though , gas prices and consumption suck but that’s the price to play 💰
Thank you for doing the video on a gas truck really enjoyed it! One day I will have a Duramax
Found out I get better fuel economy with the 87 performance tune than I do with the fuel saver tune on my 16 gmc 5. 3

5.3 and an lly
Super clean single cab 95 12v 5 speed!
I would love you talk to you about my 2013 I’m having trouble with
Often wonder which tuner would be great for my 2001 Chevy suburban 2500 and the 2005 GMC sierra 1500.
Hey man, great video. Would you recommend any mods for a 5.3 Silverado 2019 Trailboss strictly for power gain
Ya get rid of that v4 mode known for lifter issues
Haha now your getting into my world of engines I love the 5.3 lol
Just bought the CTS3 Evolution tuner. How do i tune my truck for HP and torque? I tried all the tunes it came with, but my 5.3 feels the same
I had a 1997 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5.7 had to sell it cause of fuel prices hitting 10 dollars a gallon so now I have a small car
Great show. Looking into tuning my stock 2019 chevy duramax.
Fuel economy?
Cool seeing a gasser
Very cool! Thank you both for your service!
I drive a 2021 Trail Boss with a 5.3. Love this channel.
What are the best fender flares like on your brother’s 2014 Silverado? Also I just ordered the deablo tuner for the V4 delete and my truck has some kind of cat back exhaust that sounds good but what else can I get just bolt on mods?
Thanks
Doug
I have a 2013 Silverado four wheel drive with a 5.3
Love the Sikorsky T shirt! Nine-Line products that feature a Sikorsky Blackhawk.
Nice Job. MURICA! 🇺🇸
2021 titan with the 5.6L gas titans are way under rated in my opinion love this truck! Would like to step up to a diesel one day though

Your brother does some badass work. I been following him for a while. Hes got a nice truck to. So heck why not do a gas build. Probably be fun. I have gassers and always work on them.
Truck master I have the same truck your brother has and they dealership screwed me they say it needs a motor that’s why I would love to win your truck cause I don’t know nothing about motors so don’t know what to do
