ALPIE + Funghi Valentina: Growing Excellence Together

The storytelling of Funghi Valentina and its relationship with ALPIE, from shared challenges to an innovation that is the outcome of a co-creation process: the first shelf washer in the world.
FUNGHI VALENTINA AND ALPIE
The story of Oriano Borghi, owner of Funghi Valentina, is that of a passionate and innovative mushroom grower, who has chosen to pursue the production of superior quality mushrooms and who, thanks to his intuitions, has allowed the company to establish and differentiate itself.
The relationship between Funghi Valentina and ALPIE began in the 1980s and since then is based on the values shared by the two companies: mutual trust, attention to quality, the desire to constantly improve and the importance of human relationships and people.
A SHARED EVOLUTION
In 2009, Oriano bought his first ALPIE Head Filling Machine and this allowed Funghi Valentina to speed up and improve the filling process.
In 2019, a new Head Filling Machine is purchased allowing a further step forward: in particular ALPIE offered increased efficiency and processing speed, thanks to 10 years of technical and technological evolution.
In both cases, these machines were customized according to the specific needs of Funghi Valentina, with the aim of simplifying and optimizing the daily workload of the mushroom farm: from automatic greasing, which eliminates maintenance work altogether, to solutions created specifically to make easier and faster the movements of the Head Filling Machine.
INNOVATION: THE FIRST SHELF WASHER IN THE WORLD
One of the goals of many mushroom growers is optimizing and speeding up the processes.
This for Oriano Borghi is more than a mission. Many of his ideas have made it possible to eliminate wastes of time and effort for his employees, and some of these were born in co-creation with ALPIE.
Some time ago, Oriano has an intuition.
Observing the cleaning process of the growing room, he realizes that this operation, although essential to prevent the risk of contamination, requires time and particular attention to be effective.
He then turns to ALPIE with an idea: we wanted to automate shelves washing.
The designers of ALPIE therefore immediately get down to work: the first prototype is created and then the innovation is patented.
Starting from co-creation, E-WASH was born, the first shelf washer in the world:
easier washing
more accurate and homogeneous cleaning
reduced risk of contamination
easy access to higher levels.
The shelf washer is previewed at the Mushroom Days 2019 (Brabanthallen Den Bosch, May 22-24).
