So very sad that four men lost their lives in the fire.
The WFD did an in incredible job keeping that fire from engulfing the tenant houses next door. Bravo to them!
It amazes me how the fires reignite after so much water is used and everything is so wet! Fire is extremely dangerous and unpredictable, destroying all in its path. Truly brave men and women in this line of duty.

This event is so sad, so tragic. People lost their lives, their homes and belongings, their beloved pets. I hope they can all heal quickly and cherish the memories they have.

Wow, that was right near your house! Huge fire upon arrival, sorry for the losses on this deadly fire, the late into the night fires are very scary as all are asleep! Those 3-4 story wooden multi-occupant buildings where you live are dangerous, as I don't see many fire-escapes on the exteriors. Great job to all! (Yes, a cat will hide in place.....my condo was broken into and my precious kitty hid under a chair that had maybe 2 inch clearance until I got home 2 days later...I thought I had lost her as they left the front door wide open, she came crawling out when she her me calling. Very sad one here Diz!

I remember this fire- I work at the post office nearby at 3 a.m. and we could see the smoke from our break area outside. I was inside so I didn't see anything...such a terrible loss. Praying for the families to this day.

Wow, Dizz! These are the ones that take their toll on everyone involved! Hours and hours involved in this one, and then knowing that recovery will have to take place afterwards, just adds that much more weight to everybody. So sorry for the loss of life with this fire. 2 Gage St is were I was raised as a child back the late 70s. It saddens me to see this, my prayer go out to the family’s that lived there when this happen.

They arrested a previous tenant Thursday and she's been indicted on 4 counts of 2nd degree murder for this fire . So sad. God bless them and my thoughts and prayers go out to thier family's. I truly can't imagine what they are going through. Such a senseless loss of life. Smh 😞

It's so sad that after a lengthy investigation they found out it was :( . Lives lost at someone else's hands. It's absolutely heartbreaking. Now this coming out digs the pain even deeper for the families.

Your right any word on how this fire started just was wondering? I still remember I wasn’t at work when it started but I came that morning when I used to work at McDonald’s on Main st when that huge fire took that fire fighter Rip so I could imagine how it feels especially that this one took way more lives. There was tons of smoke in this one just like most fires do you wear a mask so you won’t inhale the smoke just wondering? But thank you for the great videos.

Fires in the tenement buildings seem to take hold real fast and be very difficult to get under control. The guys worked so hard. Is there any way that the authorities could insist on sprinkler systems being installed during all new construction of large buildings? It would really help to prevent the devastation of loss of lives and property.

Great video dizzy, I've been waiting for this one. That was a huge fire, everyone worked long and hard on this. Did they ever find out how it started? I can't forget the landlord going on tv saying he's convinced it was arson.

A 36-year-old woman was indicted on four counts of second-degree murder in connection with a May 2022 Worcester fire that claimed the lives of four people, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.
Yvonne Ngoiri, who has a last known address in Worcester, was also indicted by a Worcester County Grand Jury on two counts of arson of a dwelling, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
Public safety personnel from Worcester were called to a four-alarm fire at a three-decker home on 2 Gage St. at 3:31 a.m. on May 14, 2022
During the fire, one resident jumped from a window to escape the flames and was seriously injured. Two other residents were also taken to a Worcester hospital where they were treated for smoke inhalation.
Four people died because of the fire.
These four people were identified as: Joseph Garchali, 47; Christopher Lozeau, 53; Vincent Page, 41; and Marcel Fontaine, 29. The cause of their deaths involved smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.
Investigators determined that the origin of the fire was an area in the rear of 2 Gage St. and the cause was determined to be incendiary.
Ngoiri is a former resident of 2 Gage St.
The fire also damaged 5 Eastern Ave., a nearby building.
The indictments are a result of an extensive joint investigation by members of the Worcester Police Department Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit, Worcester Fire Department Investigative Unit, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with prosecutors from the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
Ngoiri was taken into custody by Worcester Police on Thursday and is expected to be arraigned in Worcester Superior Court on Friday.”-Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr.
