I am thinking 2h melee hunter makes more sense. 100% weapon damage on flanking strike, but nothing about striking with both weapons. The new raptor strike doesn’t use auto attack anymore it’s a swing anytime on a 3s cooldown. I’m guessing it would look like FS the second it’s up - RS on cooldown - and weave in traps, nades, mongoose procs, and whatever else between RS if no FS reset. I am also wondering if slower attacking but harder hitting pets will be better now with FS giving them 100% damage hit too.
hey Hiro ! thanks for this guide again ! What do you suggest for the best pet for ally in PvP ? i'm not gonna try to farm Washte Pawne. At least not at first ^^
@@HiroVisionGaming Ok i just got Washte pawne ! very strong... do you recommend to use bite or only lightning breath? i think only lighting breath is better
@@MessorSulfu only lightning breath is my preference, but make sure that you are updated on bite just in case you are fighting something that has either immunity or good resistance to nature damage
It's important to note that !!!!!! Aimed Shot is already sharing a cooldown with Arcane Shot. So since Explosive Shot shares Cooldown with Arcane Shot, it will also share a Cooldown with Aimed Shot. Ergo you can't use Aimed Shot and Explosive Shot after another. You have to decide what to use !!!!!!!!!
They said that the runes available might change before release of SoD and some of the rune stats might even be altered, also a little heads up, as horde don't have access to Blessing of kings hunters might get a party aspect called Aspect of the Lion that gives 10% to all stats for everyone + an extra 10% for the hunter itself that is a chest rune which will make melee hunters a very interesting build as they didn't have a good fit before. Info mined from the 1.15.52124 PTR build Edit: Seems like "Aspect of the Lion" replaces the "Expose Weakness" rune if it's actually added.
I'm going same talent build albeit for a different reason on the bestial swiftness.. I plan on doing SOME pvp and itll be a beneficial there.. still undecided on runes as none of them are set in stone but Beast Mastery rune regardless of changes is a given.
I did a bit of research about how much +80% focus regen would imply for Lightning Breath and I got casts ever 5-6 seconds after the initial burst, which in my opinion still is not so great in short PvP encounters. However in PvE the DPS increase will be much more noticeable. That's why I still think a cat will be better as standard PvP pet, namely The Rake with 1.2 attack speed, which in Classic is super important for casters. The Rake is the mini version of Brokentooth and at level 25 a cat that fast will create havoc among all caster classes in terms of spell disruption and overall solid dps output
For BM you could also consider Cobra Strikes with Sniper Training, so long as Sniper Training is triggered you deal more damage than Kill Command could ever dream of doing (a single pet crit out-damages KC's 120% total bonus damage, let alone 2 pet crits from a single Cobra trigger). It's fair to point out we only have Arcane Shot to spam at this level, but that's enough at ~35% crit chance every 6 seconds (Arc.Shot's CD) to get 6 to 8 pet crits per minute ;) On paper those 2 runes are so good that I'm actually considering going into the MM tree as a "BM" Hunter for the 5% higher crit (40% chance total), 1sec faster CD on Arc.Shot (12 shots instead of 10 per minute), and lower mana consumption to spam more lv1 shots; all of those combined might outclass BM tree's 20% extra pet damage. It's a difference between getting an average of ~3 Cobra Strike activations per minute to ~5 (so from 6 pet crits to 10 crits, may just outshine BM tree's 20% pet damage, not even counting for your own extra crit damage even if it's just lv1 Arc.shots). For the Serpent pet itself I agree it being the best choice. Lighting Breath's downfall was lack of Focus to spam it, but BM rune gives us 80% more regen. Although you'll have an easier time capturing the more common white ones (Cloud Serpent) on Thousand Needles, with the same stats and abilities as Washte Pawne.
Thank you very much. Yeah for sure. I will be playing a beta for a private server called project epoch for the next two weeks before SOD launches. I will be doing a hunter there and I will be making content, and then also, I will release, some videos when I create my hunter on SOD. I did also make a paladin guide for SOD as well. It’ll released today.
Thanks for the video. I just want to correct some mistake and nowleadge to have : 1) Aimed Shot share the cooldown with Arcane Shot... so it share the cooldown with Explosive Shot too. You have can only have 1 of these ability at the same time :D But you can use Chimera Shot with Aimed Shot, as they don't share the same cooldown. 2) A 1s attack speed pet doesn't increase your DPS, it will only hit more time on a caster, so it can delay their spells cast time. And you want a 2s pet for Flanking Strike... as it does 100% of your pet damage. 3) Why everyone think Lone Wolf is made for for Melee Hunters? You say: "You want to do big damage melee, so take the +25% damage" ... but I don't see any logic in that statement. You could also say it for Marksman --> So removing your pet to have 25% more damage makes you gain 5% of your Total DPS. Not worth it. But i can be worth it at lvl 60... unless they nerf this rune, and they did ^^ But I agree with you later, when you say : > Now that they nerfed the rune, Lone Wolf will surely only be useful in Raid, on a Boss where your pet will die..... or if you want to burst someone in PvP. 4) nothing 5) Wait what? You recommand Dual Wielding with the Melee Build? I was just a bit surprise. Dual Wielding is indead better as pure white damage, BUT : ---> But Flanking Strike does 100% of your damage. So you want a slow weapon, no? And a slow weapon enable you the Melee Weaving technic, to add 20% to 40% more DPS to your rotation... It can even Double your DPS if you have no mana left. BUT, if you want to do a pure Melee hunter, no Weaving --> You may use dual wielding. So maybe you are not wrong xD 6) And then you says : You can take the 5% crit from rune --> For more chance to crit with Raptor Strike. Why say that when it's anti-synergic to do it? As you may know --> the more crit you have, the less DPS those crit% will give you. From 0% crit to 1% crit ---> You gain 1% DPS increase From 99% to 100% crit --> You gain 0.5% DPS increase --> So those who says :
Dammit, I think I lost my other message with 100000 texts in it xD Just saying that Kill Command will add like 2% to your total DPS... and 4% if you use the flying snake. But Explosive Shot or Chimera Shot, in a melee weaving build, can boost your DPS by 20%. I can redo all the calculs, but only if someone is interested xD I lost 30m by deleting the message.... in fact, I was modifiying it... but the page crashed, and when I reload, the message was deleted.
About number 3 and 6, this theory craft was made before they planed on adding Aspect of the Lion Rune to the chest piece instead of Expose Weakness. Aspect of the Lion give 10% to all stats to all party members in range (pet included) and an extra 10% (20% total) to the hunter (for now). Lonewolf was the only rune that gave any kind of benefit for the melee hunter but I agree with you Lonewolf is more of a fit all specs kind of rune and could be quite interesting to use in pvp. And yes a slow 2 handed weapon would be alot better for melee hunters not only melee weaving but also for Carve. Datamining shows this: Flankstrike has a CD of 30 the CD reset is 20% flat nothing effects it, Carve has a CD of 6 it deals 50% of weapon damage to every enemy in-front of the hunter and there doesn't seem to be a target limit.
@@GSK1125R messy, but new informations for many hunters 😗 Take your time to read and tell me if you knew all of those informations, instead of a dull comment?
#5 about a slow weapon, Yes slow is good but if it is too slow you lose damage from raptor strike being off cooldown . a 2.9 speed timer works about perfectly depending on your lag. in theory a 3.0 would be perfect but latency exists for most players.
nice vid man, appreciate your work. What are your thought's on the scorpion for beast master, i was thinking the increase regen might work for the poison.? Also what about the wolf buff for melee spec to get its dmg buff?

Well, you can, but it’s just not ideal. It does not say you must have a pet like for instance, ambush for rogue says you must equip dagger
