One of my favorite hacks is one that a friend taught me in order to achieve the perfect kick drum tone for metal: loosen both heads completely, and then tighten the lugs just enough to where they won't fall out or rattle. Sounds ridiculous, but it works amazing! Another major advantage of doing this: minimal/no dampening required ;)
Yes this also works perfectly! We only had the problem that the floor tom legs of the Sonor Tom are angled in a way, that makes it impossible to do so. That is why we decided to go with the drum stick option that works for every tom.
Double sided tape on the inside of the bass shell and line it with a wrinkled layer of aluminum foil. The texture of the new interior surface cancels that basketball ring overtone and lets the boom shine as it should
You can do the same floor tom hack by simply putting the floor tom legs upside down in the brackets, so the feet of the floor tom are up. Will do the exact same thing and you won't have to use your drumsticks as floor tom legs.
what i wanna know is how to keep people from playing your drums, because we share a room with other people and i dont like when people destroy stuff and not say. I imagine a big cover with a stealrope and a lock would do it?

Maxi pads with the glue strip work well. Pillows in the kick drum also do the trick.

I use a canvas tote bag to muffle my snare, and it works perfectly.
